I decided to treat myself to a facial over the July 4th weekend. I called the spa on the 3rd as directed by her instructions on her website and said I would like to come in the next day. I did not get a call from her till after 3pm on the 4th. No problem, I did decided at the last minute, and I was not sure if she was even open on the 4th as that's a holiday. So in the conversation, the appointment was rescheduled for the Saturday at 9am. To be honest when I reached the location, I was a little put off. The space did not look like a nice relaxing spa, it was very basic ( this was what I could see through the door) the place had a musty smell, from not being aired out. Did I mention that she never even showed? I waited 10 minutes after the time we agreed upon, I also called her, twice, 1st time when I arrived, the second time after I waited the 10 minutes. I would give 0 stars if possible, this is the furthest thing from a reputable business. I bought a set of 6 treatments on Groupon and I was excited at first because I have been to numerous laser hair removal facilities but they were all very far away and this is much closer to my house. First off Danielle is very hard to get a hold of to make an appointment, she almost never answers the phone. Once you do make an appointment you will see that she operates out of her home, her treatment area is a table that is set up in the living room and there is no door to the rest of the house where there are often other residents. Laser hair removal often involves being partially undressed depending on your treatment area so if it not a comfortable atmosphere. I only received 4 of my 6 treatments and decided to cut my losses. On two occasions I had to wait 30+ minutes because she was 'running behind'. On another occasion she double booked my time slot and made me rebook for another day. For my latest appointment she said she was moving to a new location so I went to the address she provided and it was an empty construction site. I called Danielle multiple times and after 10 minutes of me wandering around in the dark she explained the permits were delayed (she was supposed to be in this location for a month prior to my appointment) and that she was still operating out of her house BUT she was running 40 minutes behind and told me to come back later. I had other obligations so I asked her to give me an appointment the next day at a time of her choice to make sure she was available. She told me to come to her house at 10 the next day, which I did, and after waiting for 15 minutes ringing the door bell/texting/and calling with no response I gave up. Please beware of this "spa"! Danielle is not a licensed laser technician and does not know what she is doing. She is left unsupervised and she will damage your skin as she has done to many others! Since laser therapy is considered a medical procedure, it is regulated by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Before you can perform a laser hair removal procedure on a patient, a licensed physician must assign the task to you. Any facility that offers the service MUST have a medical director on site when procedures are being performed!!! In addition to this, there is no level of professionalism. She takes hours to respond and is often late to appointments if she shows up even shows up at all. Unfortunately, I paid for a Groupon deal of about 5-6 sessions. I decided to purchase another set of sessions for a different area of my body as well. In total I spent $200 and I was only able to get two laser treatments done one of which I was severely burned by the laser. I requested a refund and she refused. I didn't want to lose $200 therefore, I asked if the someone else can preform the laser treatments and she kept giving me the run around and then stopped responding altogether. I discovered this spa through a Groupon deal for microneedling. If you are looking for a low key spa treatment without the high pressure up sell, I highly recommend Danielle. I'm very pleased with the results from 4 visits and will continue to go back. Microneedling is not a relaxing experience but I saw smaller pores after 1 treatment and my sun spots faded several shades. Much cheaper than having it done at a dermatologist office, and I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere. read more

Delightful! Danielle Marie's Day Spa. This is a start-up business and they are working hard to make it a success. My daughter and I enjoyed a facial and massage and felt simply wonderful after! We both purchased an additional 3-Massage package for the future. Danielle is very professional, as is her staff. We found her to be quite knowledgable and efficient. The spa is immaculate! The day of our appointment, there was a bit of a problem. There was a GLITCH on the on-line appointment site, and it had TRIPLE BOOKED EVERY APPOINTMENT! Danielle and her staff were doing their best to accommodate those clients, it was not an easy task! I purchased a $100 gift certificate for my daughter for Christmas (12/25/17) Since that time, I had tried repeatedly to contact this business. No one ever answers the phone and when it goes to voice mail, their voicemail box is full. Once I tried to reach out through email through their website. They actually replied to my email and told me to call for an appointment. But, again, when I called no one answers the phones and their mailbox is full. They have about 3 different phone numbers listed on the internet: (203) 449-0506, (203) 612-1618 and (203) 375-6111. I tried repeatedly to call all of them. Finally, Danielle answered the phone. I scheduled the appointment for my daughter for 12:00 on 7/31/18. My daughter drove from New Milford to Stratford (over an hour's drive) and was there by 11:50 (10 minutes before her appointment) and waited until 12:30 (30 minutes after her scheduled appointment). She is a professional scam artist! I have paid her for 6 services back in October 2017 and have only received 2 of those services! She booked plenty of appointments with me and then she never shows up to those appointments and says she never booked them, when I have confirmed messages from her! She refuses to give any kind of refund, and says "she doesn't know what to tell me" She has no sort of communication skill and will never return a phone call, or text messages from her personal phone or the salon phone! I have been a customer of Danielle's for the past few months through a Groupon deal and I am so glad that I found her! She is very kind and gentle (I have seen her for laser hair removal of two different areas for about 4 sessions) and I can say that each experience I have had has been relaxing and pain-free. I have also found her to be very accommodating to my schedule and she even let me make a last-minute change during my session. I am also contemplating other services through her because of my positive experiences thus far. Not only did Danielle altogether STOP answering calls and cancelling/ dodging appointments out of nowhere for my second Groupon purchase, but she never even serviced me once for the third Groupon purchase I made! Ironically, when I initially contested the purchases, she texted me that evening saying I would be serviced with comps, but then stopped responding, yet again, after that text. I am now unable to get refunded for her NOT servicing me or responding to any attempts at outreach (her personal cell phone, spa number, receptionist, via PayPal, etc.). So unprofessional and such a shame, honestly, because initially, I was under the impression that she was truly there for her clients and was even willing to refer my friends to her, but there's no chance I'd ever, ever recommend anyone to go to her now. I had a similar experience to many of the reviews on this site. I purchased a Groupon and booked an appointment. I booked the appointment the week prior over the phone with Danielle herself. She told me that she does not usually work Mondays, but would be happy to accommodate my busy schedule. The day of, I started finding reviews that said that clients had been burned and harmed by the laser treatment. I felt a little wary, but decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and go to my appointment. After waiting outside for several minutes, a man's voice came over the intercom telling me that she was not there and to call her. I called three times. On the third time, she picked up. She said she had no recollection of booking our appointment. I recounted the entire phone call for her. She said that she would reschedule and provide me a seventh service free. I told her I'd need to check my calendar for a date I was available, and would reschedule. I texted the number she provided me, as instructed, to reschedule and never received a response. Thank goodness Groupon allowed me to trade this deal in! read more

Like most people reviewing this farce of a business, if I could give it minus 10 stars, I would. I bought a groupon for 3 massages from this joke of a place, made my 1st apt. on a Saturday at 1:30. She texts me 45 minutes before the apt. (I was in the car on the way there, but luckily had only just started the trip), to say she had to cancel. No apology, no explanation. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled for 1:00 two days later. I was literally sitting in front of her shop at l2:50 when she texts and says she can't see me until 1:30, again no explanation, no apology. I left. This is absolutely horrible customer service, I have my doubts as to whether she is a licensed massage therapist because no MT I've ever known treats customers like this. I am going to call the state to see if she is licensed for massage, and to complain. And groupon makes you trade the voucher in within 24 hours, so I had to settle for a deal that I wouldn't necessarily have bought otherwise. read more

My appointment was missed twice - first, she had me down for the wrong date. I gave her a second chance since accidents happen. For my second try, she was not available and her daughter (the "spa" is a home office) came out and told me she wasn't there because she was with another client and didn't know when she'd be back. At that point I left a voice mail requesting a refund. She sent me a text almost half an hour later apologizing and invited me to come now. Since I live close to 30 minutes away, I wasn't interested in making a 3rd trip for one facial and politely asked that I be refunded. She said she would, however after two follow ups (the most recent one ignored) and a month waiting, I still have not received my $75 back. I filed a complaint with Groupon to get my refund. I like giving small businesses a try and would not have felt the need to write a negative review if I had been refunded promptly. read more
