*UPDATE* The complete story is in the reviews below. My daughter was seen at Advanced Dental over…read morethe summer. She had a very minor cavity on an upper tooth and a more serious issue on a lower tooth. The dentist who worked on her tooth decided to work on the easier issue on the top and did not work on the more serious issue with the lower tooth at all. Shortly afterward that dentist was no longer employed by Advanced Dental. However, instead of notifying us about the situation, no warning was given and no one from Advanced Dental let us know that from that point forward they would no longer be willing or able to treat our daughter. Instead, they waited until my wife took time off from work to bring our daughter in for her next appointment and when she arrived, she was told that our daughter wouldn't be seen because they no longer had a pediatric dentist. So, apparently something that could have been avoided with a 10 second phone call turned into my wife missing a half day of work and my daughter getting no dental work done. In the meantime our daughter's tooth began to get worse and Advanced Dental refused to complete the work they originally promised would be done. We tried to find other dentists but no one could see her at all or immediately, including the so called referrals that we received from Advanced Dental. Eventually, we found a dentist in Stoughton called Children's Dental Health Center and they could see her relatively quickly, but by the time she was seen her tooth had decayed so badly that she was almost in need of a root canal. She lived in pain for weeks. Thankfully, her tooth was saved but it was extremely close. As you can see, since then all we've been told by Advanced Dental is how they did nothing wrong and how they did all they could. Laughable. But, in response I would suggest that if a business of any nature starts a project and is then incapable or unwilling to finish it, at the very least they should inform or possibly warn the customer in advance. Obviously, a child suffering is extremely serious, but I would even hope that a roofer would let me know that they couldn't finish my roof before the next rain storm. I would hope that a mechanic would let me know that they couldn't finish fixing my transmission prior to me coming to pick up my car on the day I was scheduled to leave for a cross country road trip. But, I guess that kind of common decency was, in my opinion, lost on whoever is running Advanced Dental. It seems like the only word their staff knows in NO. Obviously, I'm only one voice but it seems like there are plenty of other unhappy people who have used this company. I couldn't recommend any more strongly to be weary of this dentist and try as hard as you can to find another dental organization that will hopefully not just abandon you or your child mid-project. And like I already mentioned, my wife and I were patients at Advanced Dental for over ten years and our children have been going there since they were born. In my opinion, I have no other word to describe this situation other than outrageous!

They're really good about getting you seen as fast as possible. I was there on a Thursday for "fast care" - definitely had conjunctivitis and wanted an RSV test because my son was in the hospital with that and I was at his bedside. 2.5 hour wait - but they told you that when checking in. They let me wait in my car which I appreciated - no dealing with people who blast stuff from their phone without headphones. I had prescriptions in to my pharmacy and was on my way about 15 minutes post being seen. (No RSV for me. Hurray!!!) Next door to the fast care building, there is also a blood test lab and X Rays. Those are normal business hours but much more convenient than trekking into Boston from the South Shore. Have used those services for myself and my 6 year old daughter. From start to finish, this group took such good care of me…read more It's a scary thing to have someone cut into your gums and fold them back to clean out an infection, while you're awake. I said as much to the Dr. right before the surgery when he asked me how I was doing, I'm scared." His answer, "Well, we're not." That confidence was well-founded. I had to have an emergency root canal, and my dentist sent a referral to Hingham Endodontics,…read moreconveniently located next door. I was thankful they were able to get me in the very next day. Unfortunately, the billing and overall experience left me extremely disappointed. At the front desk, I was told that Hingham Endodontics accepts Delta Dental but that they are considered "out of network." I was also told that I had approximately $2,000 remaining in coverage for the year and that the root canal would essentially use all of it. I was then told I would need to pay $1,865.00 upfront and would receive a reimbursement check from Delta Dental within approximately two weeks. When I received the check, it was only for $849.44. I called the office and spoke with Jennifer to ask why the reimbursement was so much less than what I had been led to expect. At first, I was told the check was probably only for the consultation. She then explained that because the office is "out of network," Delta Dental would only pay up to 80%, but that the office is not told how much the insurance company will actually cover. This was extremely frustrating because none of that was explained to me before I paid $1,865.00 upfront. I specifically questioned how the office could tell me that I had $2,000 remaining in coverage and that I would receive a reimbursement in approximately two weeks, while apparently not knowing how much Delta Dental would actually pay. When I explained that this was never communicated to me, Jennifer apologized and said, "I am sorry that it was not explained further to you." I understand that the office does not control Delta Dental's reimbursement decisions. However, I do believe the patient should be clearly informed when the office cannot determine what the insurance company will actually reimburse--especially when the patient is being asked to pay nearly $2,000 upfront. Had I known there was a possibility that I would only receive $849.44 back, I would have approached the financial decision very differently. Unfortunately, my concerns were not limited to billing. I also did not have a particularly positive experience with the doctor. Before the procedure, I specifically requested dental anesthetic without epinephrine, as I have had all of my dental work done without it due to how long I personally experience the effects of epinephrine. Initially, my request was dismissed, and I was told that I would feel the procedure without it. I explained that I have routinely had dental work performed without epinephrine and was comfortable proceeding that way. Eventually, my wishes were respected and the procedure was completed without epinephrine. I am grateful that they were able to accommodate my emergency root canal appointment so quickly. However, between the lack of clarity surrounding the out-of-network insurance coverage, the unexpected reimbursement of only $849.44 after paying $1,865.00 upfront, and my experience having to advocate for a specific request regarding anesthesia, I left feeling that the overall experience could have been handled much better. My biggest advice to anyone considering this office: if you have Delta Dental or any other insurance and they are considered out of network, do not rely on the office's estimate of what you will receive back. Contact your insurance company directly and get a clear explanation of your expected reimbursement and out-of-pocket cost before paying upfront.
