I found Daniela Diamonds online and reached out, Gabriel made it so easy to shop from so far away. He kindly sent me photos and videos of some different styles, I decided and he sent me the FedEx tracking number. Honestly I was a bit leery, I had just found them online, would I actually get what I ordered? I received my ring as promised in the prettiest blue box with a white bow! My new ring was unbelievably beautiful and to this day people will stop me to compliment the style! Even though I was googly eyed I had it appraised - it appraised for twice what I paid and the cut, color and quality exactly what was promised. Gabriel at Daniela Diamonds is my go to for jewelry. I have recommend friends and they have been just as happy with their purchase and experience as me. Second Purchase and So Happy! Our second purchase with Daniela Diamonds was in 2019 for our 25th anniversary. Again, Gabriel was so great to send me pictures, I narrowed down my selection and he sent close up pictures, videos and pricing. Again, came beautiful packed in the blue box with white bow from FedEx. I seriously love this ring, so beautiful, sparkly and incredible. I receive tons of compliments! This time we were able to go to the store in New York to pick out the stone!!! The store is a small store but packed with so many beautiful pieces plus everyone was very friendly. These folks were kind enough to change my dead watch batteries on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't even know they did that; their door greeter said hello to me as I was walking down the street disappointed after learning that the place I was looking for that was supposed to be open had not only moved to a different location but was closed on Sundays. I was in this area of town to find this plaza where I'd gotten battery replacements years back and after the greeter spoke to me, I thought "Wait a second. Maybe he knows where this plaza is." So I went back and asked him where I could go to get my watch batteries changed out. The guy inside offered to do it. It was $15 to do 2 watches, a little pricey, but these were watches we couldn't open at home & I was able to get it done promptly on a Sunday afternoon. I've got to be honest. I had a complete different experience than the other poster. I looked on Blue Nile before going to the diamond district and found out what they were offering. Me and my girlfriend went to 5-6 different stores before we went to Daniela. While there Rodi, the sales representative, sent my girlfriend outside and gave me an offer for a diamond and ring set that was ~$3k less than anybody else (15%) It was GIA certified, btw. I couldn't pass it up and I put down a 5K deposit after upgrading the diamond so that I spent the same amount that I would have other places. It also comes with free cleaning and if I ever want to buy a bigger diamond I can bring it in and they will credit the price I paid towards the bigger diamond. I really hadn't planned on buying a diamond for another 3 months, but the price and service I got couldn't be beat. That being said, I have yet to have my soon to be fiance wear the ring and hopefully it won't fall out, but I am really happy with the diamond and deal I got. And, BTW, the entrance does say all diamonds are GIA certified. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I was sold an engagement ring with a clarity enhanced diamond but I only figured that out later, at home. Like other reviewers, the certificate I have says 'clarity enhanced', but the salesperson neglected to mention this during the sales process. This is equivalent to selling someone a used car with an engine that's been flooded- it's very dishonest. Since it's clarity-enhanced, the value of the diamond is half of what I thought it was. Of course they refused to give me a refund. These guys are fraudulent and extremely untrustworthy. Avoid at all costs. read more

Horrible business practices, extremely deceptive. Bought a diamond ring from them around May 2012. It was late so we weren't able to set it. Was going to return the following to have it set, but my girlfriend found it and it wasn't quite what she wanted so I went back and requested a refund. Of course they said no, understandably because of their policy. I tried to take advantage of their upgrade/trade-up policy and locate a new diamond. Over the next 2 months, they allegedly tried to find me a new diamond, with no luck finding anything matching my specifications. We settled for the stone and then asked them to set the diamond into the ring. It's important to note that prior to setting, I expressed a lot of concern that 1) the setting was used (obvious signs from markings on prongs, misshapen head, and obvious resizing visible on shank) 2) the head is too small for this stone They dismissed my concerns and forced the stone into the setting. It came out looking terrible. They dismissed me again, saying there was nothing wrong, it was perfect, anything I might see is due to the stone not being perfect. The stone I purchased is GIA graded VG on symmetry. There's no way the stone caused the setting to be lopsided. They refused to do anything and said I was too picky and anal retentive. It wasn't until I started confronting them in front of customers that they started paying attention to me again. Initially, they physically threatened to kill me or break my legs but when I didn't back down, they agreed to replace the head the following day. I returned a few days later, they fetched a head for my **platinum** ring. I told them to weld the new head in and prepare it to have the stone placed into it, but I'd bring it somewhere to have it actually set. They told me to just bring the whole thing to my own jeweler if I was going to do that. I agreed. They then asked me to bring back the old head for them. I agreed. I went to my jeweler with the replacement head and of course they confirmed all the problems I noted... Stone was set crooked, off center, clocked (rotated), ring is used and resized. And to add insult to injury, they gave me a 14K white gold head instead of platinum and had the nerve to ask me to bring the old head back. This was the final straw. I sought mediation through the BBB and Department of Consumer Affairs and each time Daniela Diamonds has been contacted, they insult me again despite the obvious evidence and refuse a refund. I've contact my credit card agency who is investigating. I had a full evaluation done on the ring from another merchant which confirms all the problems I listed. The next step is civil court where I will sue them for this. I am seeking a full refund under "breach of the contract" and will be getting legal representation if Daniela Diamonds doesn't refund me money. They claim nothing is wrong with the ring. They should issue a refund and sell it to someone else. They lose nothing by doing so. edit: As of today, I've decided not to pursue this any further. Very expensive lesson learned. read more

This is the first time I've ever written a negative review about a company but this was the most deceitful thing I've experienced as a consumer. Of the "four C's", an independent gemologist only agreed with the carat weight. Also, watch out for the fine print that says "clarity enhanced". These people cannot be trusted. All I wanted was my money back because I was blatantly misled and lied to. They refused and I had to fight the charge with my credit card company. I met with the manager/owner and he wanted to charge me $5K to take the ring back after only 48 hours. I LOVE MY RING! I've been researching and scouring shops and the internet for my perfect ring for over a year. I wanted a three row anniversary ring, ranging from D-F and rocks approximately 20 points. I live in California and the biggest diamond jewelers chains we visited all responded the same way - that they will have to check with their distributor in New York City. So my boyfriend said, 'Get your ring in the City.' So after work hours on a trip out East, I visited the Diamond district. I saw a ring at Angel's Diamonds. It had almost everything I wanted except that it was an H color. The booth owners wanted to get a sale before they close and she was aggressive. She was a great saleswoman and fun to negotiate with. I'm a tough negotiator too so I can appreciate a good spar. I called my fiance before the last stages of the deal and gave me the green light to go ahead. My only hesitation was that I wanted to walk the entire strip of Diamond Row first to exhaust all my other options and feel settled and at peace with my purchase. But the gal at Angel's wouldn't let me go and sold it to me for $2500. I was happy with the deal I got and found a ring that met my criteria - but I still didn't get to walk the Row. So I walked down the street in hopes to NOT find a 3 row ring I liked. Many of the shops were closing and putting away their jewelry, so far so good...I didn't see any potential rings. I should've been happy and headed home but I had to keep walking. Then I walked by a showcase and there it was, a gorgeous 3 row diamond that made me do a double-take. I blinked several times. My heart sank - it was beautiful. My heart started racing and nervous, I was telling myself I shouldn't....I took a deep breath, and walked in. A beautiful blonde Russian sales rep named Cathy, effortlessly took the ring out, telling me the specs, and let me stare at it. I put it on and knew, THIS IS IT - this is MY ring! But what do I do now? Should I call my credit card and cancel the last purchase? Can I return the ring? I was stuck and felt hopeless. Cathy began asking me to throw out a price but I couldn't engage in the negotiating because I just spent my budgeted $2K. Cathy called over the owner's cousin who was helping another couple out. He saw I loved the ring and dropped it to $7K. Cathy was shocked at how low he reduced the price but continued to woo me - I couldn't budge. I just admired the ring on my finger thinking I might as well enjoy the few minutes since I may never see it again. The cousin left me to host another couple. Cathy went to their other store to find me some more affordable options in that style. But nothing compared to this gem of a ring. There was a moment when no one was with me, I was just enjoying the ring on my finger. The owner's mother, the matriarch of the business, quietly came out from the corner and asked me if I already bought a ring? How does a mother know these things? I was embarrassed but nodded. Without judgment, she smiled kindly and didn't say anything. Not soon after, her son came out, the owner. He was young, friendly and very personable. He asked, 'may i see your ring?' I said no, because I assumed that he would tell me how much I got ripped off and make me feel worse. Assuring me he wouldn't, I did. He asked where I got it from, I said Angel's and he said - they're good people, we grew up together. He looked at the ring, asked what I paid, and said that I got a good deal, that I wasn't ripped off. He was quiet for a few seconds and then he said, I know you love my ring - there's no comparison (it was true, it was in a completely different league.) And then he said, "I will buy this ring off of you, to help you get this ring." What?? He can do that? He was willing to do that? I was stunned!!! My heart and spirit were light all of a sudden and I started to get excited about the possibility of really getting the ring of my dreams. And here Brian was, offering me a way out. So we can began negotiating. He applied the value of what I paid to the old ring to the cost of the new ring. His staff had to start putting away the other rings but Brian was patient. We finally arrived at a total of $5,500K so I only had to put it about $3K more. We shook on it. He filled out the paperwork and I was shocked at what he wrote on the warranty documents, that the value of the ring was $15K. He promised that this was the number he was willing to prove to an insurance company or to anyone that would challenge its value. My fiancé was thrilled I finally found my ring even if it was a bit higher than expected :). Back in California, I've taken it to several jewelers now and the verbal appraisals have come back in the same ballpark of $12-15K. I am so grateful to Brian, Cathy and all at Daniela's. We went in Daniela Diamonds looking for a Cartier watch that I have been looking for. At the store, I met Dan and we got into talking about diamonds. He was very comfortable to talk to and very knowledgable. One thing led to another and we ended up upgrading my wife's engagement ring to a stone twice the size she had. The staff and especially Dan was extremely helpful and it was a no pressure environment. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! I had a similar experience to the one below. I bought a diamond from them assuming that I could not go wrong with a GIA certified diamond. However they sold an HPHT diamond (color enhanced) diamond to me without disclosing it to me. This is ILLEGAL. In fact in hindsight the salesman did everything he could to deceive me into thinking I was buying a natural diamond at a great price. In retrospect he was clearly a sociopath, willing to tell me anything to induce me to buy without any kind of conscience at all. Make sure wherever you buy from that you check out the certificate before you buy anything. GIA and EGL are the market standard for diamonds so I wouldn't buy anything without one of these certificates. When you look in the certificate make sure to look in the comments section for any kind of enhancement. Right now I am going through the procedures to get my money back so if anyone has had this same experience please feel free to contact me on complaintsdanieladiamonds@gmail.com with your contact details and I will call you back and happily take you through the process. In short you should file a complaint at the FTC and try and call your credit card companies immediately to get your money back. Then you can file complaints at the BBB (better business bureau) and JVC (jewelers vigilance committee) which are mediators. I actually went to both of them and they refused to do it as they advised that the same would keep happening. I was fobbed off for weeks to eventually be told they were only willing to repair it, the goods were not faulty and "you must have knocked it a few time" I am extremely careful with my jeweller and I certainly did not knock it. They obviously don't check credit card and IDs at this place because my debit card number was stolen and somehow used IN STORE. My "card" was run TWICE, the first time for over $3000, which was declined, and the second time was run for the balance of my CHECKING ACCOUNT!!!! I currently have a ZERO balance. How is this store allowing this to happen? This criminal obviously had a fake ID with my name, and an altered/fake credit card. I would give Daniela 0 stars if I could. I purchased an engagement ring from this establishment in April. They did not show me a certificate in the store (it was a Sunday and I fell for the fact that it was 'locked in the office' because it was a Sunday). When I received the certificate, it was not even EGL certified (when one of the salespeople said it was either GIA or EGL). The stone was also enhanced, which was not brought to my attention until I received the "certificate" in the mail. I did not think too much about it until two months after I gave it to my fiance, the stone fell out. At this point, I knew there was some shady dealing going on. I sent the ring back to Daniela (paying for insurance, of course) and they put the stone in and sent it back. A couple days after I got it back, the stone was loose again so I took it to a local jeweler and he told all about how poorly the ring was made and that what was promised to be 14 karat white gold did not even have a stamp on it so very well may not even have been pure gold. NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE. They are a shady bunch of people who will take you for everything you've got and not feel a smidgen of guilt for doing so. Two enthusiastic thumbs down. read more
