The waiting room is spacious, and they always have something on the TV for the little ones! You're able to register online for an appointment, or you can walk up. My husband has been to this ER several times for serious cardiac events, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience getting through intake has been consistently frustrating. especially with the EKG lady who never seems to be around and doesn't have a clue with super helpful comments like why didn't you shave because we didn't know we were gonna have a heart attack this morning. The check-in staff are nice enough, but once you are waiting to be seen, there seems to be very little interest in hearing the patient's history or listening when you try to explain why the situation is concerning. My husband does not always present like a typical cardiac patient, which makes his history especially important. On previous visits here, he has ultimately been admitted and required serious cardiac intervention, including emergency procedures and valve surgery. Once we actually get back to the ER doctors, our experience has been very different. The physicians have provided good, quality care. My concern is getting to that point. If this weren't the closest hospital to our home, especially during a possible cardiac event, I'm not sure we would continue coming here. There is a large sign warning patients that aggressive behavior toward staff will not be tolerated. I completely understand and support protecting hospital employees. At the same time, after sitting here again and watching how frustrated people become when they feel unheard, I think compassion and communication need to go both ways. We are currently here again, sitting in a mostly empty waiting room, so I will update this review as our visit progresses.

Everything was speedy and friendly with a high level of care. I asked many questions and they answered all of them thoroughly. I also asked for some ice packs and other questions on care and they provided me with some items to help me along the way. They also printed out some instructions for me. Really nice staff -- capable, considerate, professional. I would absolutely go back and recommend others who need urgent care. Also, within 48 hours i received a call asking for me to check with them. This time I just met the Doctor - "Donna" and while the nurse gave me her last name I dont know that its appropriate to share here. Super spunky - let me talk and explain myself rather than trying to "own the show" like some doctors do (which I admit is completely understandable) and I would even go far enough to say she was/is "cute" which made the interaction easy and fun. I assume I was going to get a needle stuck in my leg again which I really was very nervous about.. We did the XRays (xray tech was cool as well) and while the doctor did say it looked to HER like there was some fluid on my knee, I suppose thy go by the XRay tech's word and she said no. Long story short I was provided with some very mild medication to help with the pain - which hasn't really done much good.. And in reading over this review you may ask yourself "why did this guy give them 5 stars?"... I suppose the answer to that question is, I was in pain, I picked up the phone and was able to see a doctor less than 30 minutes later who did what was in her wheelhouse to be able to do for me - sort of like a military triage nurse/doctor - she got me to the point that I could make it to see my regular orthopedic doctor next week - and even took a minute or two to clown around with me.. I've seen some dismal reviews for this location - and while sure it would be great to be floating in the clouds right now with absolutely zero pain - I do feel what COULD be done, WAS done.
