For full transparency, I am a Type 2 Diabetic and have had VERY advanced gum disease. I have been losing teeth off and on for the past decade and very painful/swelling gums. I've had bridges for my upper and lower teeth to replace the teeth I lost to have some semblance of a 'normal' smile (see pictures #1 and #2). Over the years, I looked for the right dentist to do the work necessary to put my oral care in order. Recently, I found Aspen Dental/Dr. Rodrigues' office on the internet and decided to call...what did I have to loose.... if it didn't work out like the other dentist offices, then I would keep looking. From my first visit to Dr. Rodrigues' office, I was warmly welcomed and had the very difficult conversation about my dental care. Dr. Rodrigues didn't flinch at the extent of the care/work I needed to have done. She actually LISTENED to my concerns and game plan for my future dental care! Also, I was on a budget and the whole procedure came within my dental coverage budget!!! I had my dental procedure done and now I'm so so so happy and pleased with the work done at Aspen Dental (see picture #3)!! THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLE...SERIOUSLY!!! The assistant was kind and professional, but the dentist was not particularly friendly. My partial was sent back and forth to the lab multiple times, yet the person making the adjustments didn't see how it fit in my mouth until the end, which made the process feel ineffective. As the appointment went on, I felt increasingly rushed, and the focus seemed to shift toward replacing the partial rather than fixing it. I ultimately settled for a fit that was still unsatisfactory because I didn't feel comfortable asking for further adjustments. Cleanliness was also a concern. After disinfecting my partial, the assistant repeatedly handled it with bare hands before giving it back to me to place in my mouth, which felt unsanitary. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. While the assistant was pleasant, the dentist's demeanor, the rushed experience, and the handling of my dental appliance mean I won't be returning. My rating: 2 out of 5 and that is being generous.

When she got to the build up for the temporary crown, some of the anistetic had worn off and she had to give me another shot to deaden it. When she got to the build up, she seemed to be in a huge hurry to get done. Needless to say, I was not happy. Although I am not the type of person to complain and make others feel bad, she didn't give me the feeling of giving me the attention necessary to finish in a timely manner. I'm afraid that I made a mistake in choosing this practice for my dental needs. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review. I received my crown on my tooth and, today, I felt very much like a valued patient. The Dr and her staff really made me feel valued and they showed me how kind and professional that they are. I moved to the area about a year ago and had not been in to get my teeth cleaned since moving here. I was used to going every six months so decided I needed to get in somewhere for routine cleaning. I called them on Tuesday and was surprised to hear they had appointments available the very next day. Some of the other local dentists I had contacted were booking appointments two months out. I arrived on time went through "routine" full mouth x-ray, was moved to a room went through a "routine" full mouth 3-D imaging scan from the dental hygienist. The dentist then came in the room spent about 15 seconds, looking at my photos on the screen never once even looked in my mouth and told me I needed three crowns and a bunch of other dental work. I was then ushered upfront to the business office and was told the total cost for the work I needed to have done was slightly over $7000. I declined and was told that was my only option or I could decline treatment which I did. I was there for over two hours and didn't even get the routine cleaning that I had scheduled an appointment for. I now have an appointment with a highly recommended local dentist about two months out, but I'm happy to wait. This place just really seemed like a total scam to me.
