I've been seeing a resident at LewisGale Physicians Family and Academic Medicine - Valley View…read more This is the worst health care i've ever received. A resident miscoded a visit Medicare should have covered but didn't. The resident's supervisor did not respond to my email in their system. The billing department said they'd help me on multiple occasions, eventually comprehending that it was miscoding, but they did not succeed. So I'm out hundred of dollars and haven't seen in a general practitioner in over a year.

Mindy, medical assistant conducted the first part of my physical exam, then Casey took over the rest. She truly took her time and paid attention, and the visit couldn't have gone any better. Lab in the same building, and the staff was efficient and friendly. This was also the first time in a long time where a blood draw didn't cause massive bruising. Thank you! The other one is antibiotic happy (prescribed me antibiotics for chronic migraines and then said that allergies were causing my migraines without any other symptoms pointing to migraines as well as told me that allergies were the reason my lymph nodes and tonsils were chronically swollen for 3 years but then I saw an ENT in Richmond that told me they were the worst case of infection he's ever seen and I suffered from sleep apnea for 3 years because of it.) Thanks to dr Christian I had to go through a surgery where they discovered the infection in my tonsils was so bad it caused scar tissue to grow into the muscles of my neck. And they've screwed up my families billing to many times to count. We have 2, yes two forms of health insurance. When you try to call to fix the issue, you can't understand what they are saying except for "that's your bill, pay now?" "We bill you, you pay" Avoid the medical billing shakedown from these 3rd party mobsters. They'll have you in collections for thousands over a aspirin that you never took. They do medical billing code like they are playing a game of bingo. AFC, if you want to be a better place, ditch the 3rd party mobsters and con artists. Staff and doctors are great, not worth dealing with a shakedown for your money because they have no idea how to bill your insurance.
