We love Dr. Farrago, his staff, and the practice of direct primary care. When we call for an appointment there is no answering questions about birth date, etc. and being put on hold while they attempt to look up our info. When we come in the staff knows us on sight, is very friendly and well organized. We are seen within minutes, not hours! We have had several occasions when we needed care during off hours, and even from out of town. Dr. Farrago made himself available and was able to help us through each of those situations. He is very progressive and will not prescribe medicines irresponsibly but will take time to diagnose and look into all methods of treatment. He takes also time to explain things and answers questions in the office as well as through e-mail. He is sensitive to cost and will help his patients find the best deal on any medications he does prescribe. Prescriptions are called or faxed to the pharmacy in a timely fashion. Very friendly/knowledgeable. Dr. Farrago knows his stuff and also believes in treating the whole person. So many doctors I've been to were "here's a pill for the symptoms. now go away." I had an issue and he took the time to help me figure out why it was happening and address it with lifestyle changes. And he made a point of regular appointments to check on the issue to make sure it stayed in check. I was also able to email him for advice when I was overseas & injured a joint. He gave me some recommendations, and we set up an appointment when I returned to address it more fully. Not something you can do with most doctors. Oh and let's not forget Christine is the "best vampire ever" - I bruise easily from blood draws. Once I bruised over half my forearm. Normally, my bruise is at least quarter sized. Not with Christine. I don't know why she's different but I don't bruise when she takes my blood. read more

WOW! This type of medical office is so refreshing. Whenever I have a question or concern, I can just send an email to my doctor and it will be addressed that day! No going through an automated system, selecting numbers, hopefully speaking with a live person and then waiting for a response back. I have a doctor that knows me, my medical history, and my family. I always know who I will see when I go to their office. I am taking care of from the moment I walk in the door and don't have to wait for 45 minutes to an hour in a room with other sick patients. All of their information is transparent so I always know what to expect when it comes to paying for labs - which are heavily discounted compared to what insurances charge you. I love the fact that Dr. Farrago and his staff treat you as if you are their only patient. There's no waiting in a crowded waiting room with a bunch of sick people. As a matter of fact, I rarely if ever have even seen another patient in their office. When you set an appointment you are seen at that time, which is a rarity in this day and age, especially to see a physician. Dr. Farrago has a pleasant demeanor and almost always makes me laugh. He talks to me like a real person and not just another patient to get through, in order to get to the next one. Some people may call his practice "old fashioned" but whatever you want to call it, I'm a fan and will continue to rely on them to help with my medical needs. read more

Unfortunately due to moving up north, I am no longer a patient, and it is the one thing I miss more than any. This is not just a "doctors office", actually being able to sit down with your doctor for more than 5 minutes is what is missing in the medical community now. Dr. Farrago truly cares about his patients and is vested in their well being. Not only does he care, but it is very evident that the whole staff does as well. The atmosphere is also incredible! You never once feel as though you are in a waiting room and just another number, but rather a person who is actually being taken care of! My husband, myself, 3 kids (and even my parents) all see Dr F and wouldn't think of switching! He doesn't carry a patient load as high as a traditional medical practice, which means it's easier to schedule an appointment, he dedicates more time to his patients, and there is no wait once you get there. We moved to central VA from the DC area 4 years ago, and spent the first year completely frustrated with the medical scene in this area. I waited no less than an hour every time I saw a pediatrician, and I went through 3 primary care doctors for myself and didn't care for one.... and then came Dr F. I had not been to the doctor in a decade before I started coming here. I was tired of the usual long wait, copays, lack of care etc. that comes with a traditional practice. Dr. Farrago changed that for me. I love that I can make an appointment, be electronically reminded of said appointment, be greeted with a smiling face that knows my name when I arrive, and then be seen immediately with no wait.
