I LOVE Dr. Greenberg, but I'm furious with their billing department right now! I just received a bill for over $600 for a cleaning and was told curtly in an email that they don't accept Horizon NJ Health (though they have for over a year for my past appointments) and I was never informed of the change -- and that my insurance is not active - which it most certainly is. What is more frustrating is that I was not asked at ALL if my insurance had changed when I checked in, which is a standard question when checking in to doctor appointments -- I would have left had I been informed that my insurance was no longer accepted. However, I received no less than two text messages and one email today informing me that the office no longer takes payments in-office -- so clearly they have the ability to communicate changes to patients. The short responses from billing - versus trying to find a solution, or call me - are nothing short of RUDE and not representative of Dr. Greenberg. He should definitely question the person doing his insurance billing. It reflects horribly on the neighborly reputation he has built. read more

I had a previous dentist that I went to for around 15 years. My son's first dentist ever as a toddler. When he retired I was so nervous I would never find anyone like him. My family and I then went to a group of dentists for about 2 years and we really disliked that. Then I found Dr. Greenberg. I am so pleased by how the entire office treats their patients, even more so than my previous dentist that I loved. They are so nice, down to earth and truly caring. Once again, Dr. Greenberg did what he said he would do: fill and fix a small cavity and I wouldn't feel a thing. And that's exactly what happened. I was referred by a current patient as their whole family visits him. I was told he is a great guy and the staff is fantastic. This could not have been more accurate! From scheduling the appointment to the new patient paperwork the women at the desk were fantastic. Once I went into the back Dr Dan was a very informative guy. I'm someone who doesn't normally visit the dentist so there is a sense of embarrassment as I arrive to fix a tooth. He offered advice for better dental hygiene which made me feel comfortable to schedule a cleaning in a few weeks. While completing the repair to the chipped tooth he informed me of every step and mentioned if there would be pain or what tool he was using and why. For someone with anxiety this helped out a lot and made me feel at ease. I would recommend if you need dental work to visit this office. I had heard nothing but glowing reviews for Dr. Greenberg and having just moved, I was looking forward to going back to a smaller practice (after years of factory-like group practices). Unfortunately, I never got to see him because of his rude, incompetent front office staff. To back up a little, I had gone in person 6 months ahead in December to make an appointment as a new patient. I wanted to make sure my insurance was accepted, so they had physically looked at my insurance card and assured me it was fine. So I made the appoint for June. Come June, I showed up at the office on the scheduled day only to be told they can't take my insurance. The reason was it had my old dentist's information on it. Not having experienced this before, I was surprised, but accepted that could have been avoided on my part. I was even willing to forgive that it was not caught by their staff in December - hey maybe the receptionist was new (even though the office manager had been there as well). But when I tried to explain this, the office manager could only say something along the lines of "I don't know why - how would we know what happened in December." There was no apology, or "you were misinformed, we'll correct this on our side," or "we could try to help you, here are other options," etc. I was absolutely disgusted that they spoke to me as though I was the only one at fault. I can accept a misunderstanding, but the staff completely handled that situation horribly. I hope the revered Dr. Dan treats his patients better. read more
