5 years ago (2019) I got in a ski accident that chipped my tooth resulting in me having to get a root canal on my bottom front tooth. The procedure process was more traumatic than the entire accident. Insane wait times and unnecessarily long appointments. Not to mention the complete disregard or care from their staff (doctors and reception). I left in tears because of how awful the tooth looked. Bulged out and was the completely wrong color (Gray). Receptionist and doctor both assured me I would just get used to it and wouldn't notice it after a week (not true). I was not even 18 years old. How was I supposed to know I was being gaslighted and fooled by medical professionals. I was so traumatized from the process that I waited to go to my regular dentist to get it fixed. Only to find out I had to wait 5 years to get it fixed bc of insurance. As I waited these 5 years the tooth got worse. Smelt AWFUL and made me so beyond insecure. But I did not have the funds to cover $1,000 out of pocket so I decided to wait the 5 years. UPDATE: (10/11/24) 5 YEARS IS FINALLY UP. I went to Dr. Ralff who was able to do a speedy and caring job. When he inspected it he said that CEMENT AND BLOOD had leaked into the crown THEY put on. For 5 years I had to deal with a GRAY CEMENT AND BLOOD FILLED TOOTH IN THE FRONT OF MY MOUTH. Absolutely traumatizing. I would literally rather go any place than here. Even if it is an emergency do not go here this place is not worth your time or money. UPDATE #2 (01/15/2026); SIX YEARS LATER: Turns out I suffered 5 years with a gray and blood filled tooth that smelt like a Rotting Corpse for nothing. Because I still have to pay that $1,000 when I was told I had to wait 5 years (As insurance is deeming that it was unnecessary to be fixed because there was already a crown there). It is unbelievably upsetting that I have had to deal with this for so long. I am so beyond traumatized and I never write bad reviews anywhere but this really messed me up. i got a filling about a month ago here and i thought everything was fine but after that month the filling fell out and that means they didn't do the filling properly. i went back to get it done and the lady did not seem like she knew what she was doing. the dentist and the assistant were chatting and laughing and focusing on my filling . i really don't recommend you come here for any sort of dental issue you may have ! read more

This business is very disrespectful and unprofessional. Their staff in their billing manager is very unprofessional. They have broken and misled me with the front crown since March of this year and have had me going back-and-forth there after they built my insurance in my out of pocket payments for this crown has never fit or stayed on gloves from other patients walking in and out of rooms without taking those nasty gloves off I do not recommend that nasty place to anybody. AVOID AT ALL COST! Come here if you want your tooth ripped out for absolutely no reason. Dental assistant came into my room put the forceps on my tooth ready to rip my tooth out before I stopped her and got the response "Wrong chart/room sorry". Ended up getting a knarley cut on my gum that hurt for weeks. Told the Owner Dr. Thind whose excuse was "oh we're very busy on saturdays". Business is not an excuse to be that unorganized. They're not upfront about the whole procedure and what it costs so once they have an opening in your mouth you're stuck with multiple visits costing thousands of dollars. The new staff or newer staff Herr are terrible. From the office to the doctors and financial directors. The hamilton location has an office admin named Christine or Kristine who is rude and deceitful and they did nothing to fix a situation that was absolutely their fault. They lie and hang up. I am filing a complaint with the state andBBB. They incorrectly ordered the wrong color veneer and won't fix it.....They inserted the wrong color veneer for the procedure. the veneer was shown on a replica dental skeleton and not against my other veneers and they ordered the wrong shade. the current office manager is deceptive and its poor practice. read more

I was referred to academy dental for veneers when I got there for consultation it was unorganized and they didn't give me any consultation. They just told me I needed a Bridge and extraction and a root canal so I call them back up for financial planning reasons so that I could financially plan out this procedure that I was doing it took many weeks for me to get half, the amount of clarity that I needed to financially plan for this procedure. My dental insurance covers a part of my procedure and there were some out of pocket cost. Academy dental didn't give me clear, concise or truthful information for the pricing of my procedure or the details of the procedure. They extracted my tooth they shave down two of my teeth for the bridge that I needed and left me with no temporary bridge left me with basically , a mouth missed of missing teeth on one side And they thought that this was OK. read more

Visited on Mon, Jan 18th X-rays going back for root canal. It's clean, welcoming and no judgment atmosphere. I am happy to find one so close I can check off on my "to do" list. I had a very bad experience. They told me they wanted to do a root canal to save my tooth and they ended up braking my tooth and adding an ugly temporary crown because the actual one wasn't covered. Had a partial plate made. I have been back 3 times and still they don't fit right. Had enough of going back every week. Asked for my money back and told me no, come in we will adjust them. Went 5 weeks ago for emergency visit molar broke. X-rays with Dentist telling me I had infection in other molar didn't give me anti-biotic. Dentist didn't write the script! She did file down tooth that broke without any numbing! Couple days face swelled called asked why they didn't give me anti-biotic. Answer-you take too many medications we were afraid. Called my Dr got anti-biotic. Go today wait again Dr asked why 3 times than apologized said he would take care of me. All that wait to tell me insurance didn't cover extractions of $440 a piece=$880 for 2 teeth. 1st appointment wouldn't tell me-now I know why! I walked out! In 5 weeks I could have found an alternative to Academy Dental if I had known the price. I would advise others to find alternative! read more

Disclaimer: I am not a patient of this practice and have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with them. This practice has continuously called my cell phone and sends me text messages for a patient of theirs, whom again is not me. I have repeatedly asked them to change the phone number for whichever patient they are trying to contact BECAUSE I AM IN FACT NOT THAT PATIENT. The last lovely encounter I had with this office, I again explained that I am not a patient of theirs and to remove my phone number from the system. Then, the female at the front desk HUNG UP ON ME. I proceeded to call back and the female at the front desk pretended to have a "bad connection" and act as if they could not hear me...which was blatantly untrue. My visiting relatives got sick all of a sudden with tooth problem. My own dentist was ready to do the action; that is root canal at a cost of $2500. Academy dental was recommended by one of our friends and we went there for a second opinion. Dr. Navleen was super friendly and and took X-Rays of the tooth. She showed us that the tooth already has a big hole in there and there is no point of doing a root canal and crowning. She gave her enough pain killers so she can go through the day and and we her tooth remove dona follow up visits. They were always professional, on top of their appointment times and best of all, listens to the patients. read more

My sister had an appointment today to receive her wisdom teeth removal and they called her 4 hours before her appointment to tell her that the surgeon doesn't take her insurance. She has been waiting for this appointment for 3 weeks since the surgeon only comes once a month. Extremely irresponsible on their end since now she will have to call and find another office and reschedule another separate dentist appointment. When she called they said that they take her insurance so I am not sure why they didn't mention the problem with the surgeon not taking her insurance. read more

Unprofessional staff. Directly overheard desk staff discussing how to manipulate patients into spending more money on unnecessary procedures in a tone that they explained would make people trust them. I had been a patient for years but will not be returning. Things have been going downhill there for quite a while. Based on several referrals that they have given out to oral surgeons and orthodontists - which were all deemed unnecessary by the specialists I could not in good faith recommend them even for a dire emergency. During the pandemic they coerced an elderly family member of mine on a fixed income to get braces. After I informed them in writing of what had occurred And that I would no longer be a patient they began harassing myself and other members of my family with phone calls. I will now be taking steps to report their disreputable and unethical practices to my dental insurance and to which ever state board has oversight. read more
