I had a root canal this Saturday with Dr. Bill Paliouras, and I can't speak highly enough of the experience. Dr. Paliouras and his assistant, Krissy (forgive me if spelling is incorrect) were efficient, communicative, and consistently checked to make sure I was not feeling pain. The front desk had told me ahead of time what I was expected to pay on the day of, and made sure I understood that I could get a bill afterward if there was any leftover expense after insurance paid their bit. I've paid fortunes out of pocket for dental work elsewhere, and have been less happy with the results. I had a bit of a wait before the procedure, but I expect that at any kind of doctor appointment. (Learn to knit, you'll be happy anywhere you go.) I will definitely return to Eastern Dental! read more

This place is a joke. My son had an appointment at 9am. They took him in at 9:15am to clean his teeth. After that, they sent him back to the waiting room to wait for x-ray and had the dentist to checked. WE WAITED FOR 1.5HRS to get called in!!! Then he waited for another 30mins to get x-ray and checked by the dentist. I have been to Ewing, Lawrenceville, and Hamilton. None of them are good. I can't wait for open enrollment and switch plan. read more

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. I was a patient over 5 years and not once did the doctor explain anything to me as to why I was having problems. Turns out I have lots of bone decay due to osteoporosis. Eastern Dental is an assembly line. If you want a truly professional practice where the dentist spends lots of time going over ex-rays and takes before and after pictures to explain everything that is taking place. Then recommends treatment plans and explains what could possibly happen if you continue with what you are currently doing. I highly recommend Whitehorse Dental (Dr. Roberto Ruiz, DMD). It is a solo practice where he is the only dentist that takes care of you. You will not regret the switch. read more

Absolutely - DO NOT GO THERE!!! I was told that unfortunately after I started a lengthy surgical procedure to have me top teeth pulled and replaced. In the beginning the process was good but as the situation continued. They were extremely unprofessional and very defensive when asked questions. Also, when the surgeon pulled my back tooth and he broke the bone in my gums in half.. I came in for them to correct their mistake (for free). You know, as well as I getting something for free these days, especially at the dental office is NEVER the case .it was clearly their issue but I had never been treated worse in my life. Also, my appointment was at 10:30 and called me back around noon. Because I was in a lengthy process with several appointments I was in the wonderful position of waiting an hour minimum and 2 hrs .EVERY TIME I HAD an appointment. Everyone , and I mean everyone was talking about it and loosing it in the waiting room something that happened over and over again. I'm going to post this review anywhere I can so that people know to stay away - they were hacks. I had a broken tooth was in excruciating pain and they gave me an appointment 1 month and 1 week out! I am giving you 3 stars for the constant overbooking and appointment time vs actual in-the-chair time. It seems to be a pattern with E.D. I have used other sites and it is the same thing. They have this weird rule where if you have a dental problem and call to make an appointment, you must come in this week. You cannot make an appointment for next week. You have to call back next week. It's crazy! And you will be considered "an emergency". Emergency appointments have to wait even longer to be called back to a room than regular appointments. They actually told me this and I have found it to be true. The doctors seem to know what they are doing. That's why the 2 stars. read more

I haven't been here since 2007 and I see why. I was going to the Eastern Dental in Lawrenceville and they are both horrible! I went in because I was having pain to hot and cold temps and wanted to know why. Instead they disregarded my concerns (not the nice nurse lady) and then the lady who cleaned my teeth was so heavy handed and stabbed my gums several times. I went to a dentist in Princeton before this and the doctor there was much more informative and said my teeth were fine but she was booked when I was having the uncomfortable pain. This place is HORRIBLE. The doctor didn't care about what I had to say about my teeth and the lady who cleaned my teeth was so heavy handed and acted like I couldn't feel pain. Eastern Dental has lost its professionalism and etiquette. My appointment was at 3:30 pm and I was not called until 4:30 pm. Definitely not OSHA compliant. I was blown away how I was able to observe the techs and Dentists interact from patient to patient and not wash their hands. During my visit, that is exactly what the staff did. The Tech was taking an Xray while I sat in the next dental chair. The moment the tech was done, I watched her take off the gloves and put on a new pair of gloves. No washing of the hands. Unacceptable. As for the rude and unprofessional female Dentist whose name escapes me. She also has a strong demeanor, I was not happy with her care. I never received my routine cleaning as the Dentist recommended I see Periodontist first. This issue has been going on for over 5 years and I already knew that. All I needed was routine dental cleaning. Since I did not want to see the Periodontics she declined my routine cleaning. With that being said, nothing for me to do other than end the visit. I walked out and can say I will not be returning I will never refer Eastern Dental. read more

After waiting an hour in the waiting room I was taken back to the exam room where I waited another 20 minutes. When Dr. Levine was the Director I always felt confident about the care. This time I was told I had an abscess and asked when did I last come in for a cleaning. I told them I come every 6 months and no one said I had an issue last time. In fact the DR. said I had excellent dental hygiene. She hardly spent any time checking my teeth. Dr. Levine used to take a pick and check every tooth. Horrible service. read more

I initially had an issue but the office manager spoke kindly with me and it was worked out. Kudos because they really did address my needs. I had 3 teeth extracted, today and one was a lot of work but all 3 are out. I can't take ibuprofen right now because I have a medical procedure coming up in a few days and I can't take anything that could potentially thin the blood. The dentist did give me a mild pain med for which I am very grateful and I will rest with an ice pack. Thank you very much. I truly appreciate that Eastern Dental did address my concerns in a very timely manner. I will back because I have a lot more work that needs to be done. read more

I have been calling the emergency phone line to address a cracked tooth. I am on my 5th call with no call back. The emergency hotline asked if they wanted to send a 5th page out to the dentist who is on call. I said yes. The emergency hotline told me that if they don't call me back, there is nothing that she can do. I am truly disappointed. I know this doesn't help my tooth at all but I have been a loyal patient and never have called before today. I will be searching for a new dentist and will never recommend Eastern Dental of Hamilton to anyone. read more

The wait at this location is too long and disrespectful of patients' time. If they are short-staffed or people are out sick, they should be prepared with part-time reserve hygienists or develop an exchange with their many other prices so that help unavailable when people call out. I also don't like that the cleaning takes place after the dentist does the exam, which provides no incentive for the hygienist to do a good job. Also, due to inadequate heating, the waiting room and cleaning area feel like the Arctic tundra, which is also not patient-friendly. This happens from the door opening constantly and letting in cold air, so maybe they can place space heaters in areas where patients sit and not just behind the desk for the employees. The dentist and medical staff are very nice, which I appreciate. I am switching dental insurance plans, though, and choosing one that will require me to pay more every month--so that I can choose an smaller family office with a shorter wait time and a different organizational approach, so that exams occur after the cleaning. read more

I am very happy with the work that was provided... (I've had a root canal done/cavity filled)... Dr Gilati is great and also her assistant. My problem is with the billing office and the front desk. The office did not calculate the correct amount that I owed... so thinking everything is good to go and paid i get a bill in the mail saying I owed $200. I go there with bank statements proving that I have paid amount due, but then they told me that they gave me the incorrect #'s by mistake, and not only did I owe them money I owed them $400 instead of $200...I was furious. I didnt even get an apology! I understand that I would still have to pay, thats not my problem, but it's an inconvenience for me. I had to save money for months to pay for the original price they quoted me, but now to tack on more money and have to pay a minimum of $50 is a bill I didn't make room for. I've had insurance for Eastern Dental of Hamilton for 2 years, but have never been. Tonight I called their office after hours in hopes to speak to the "emergency" dentist on call in regards to my 9 year old daughters loose tooth that was gushing blood. I was told that the doctor would not speak to me tonight because I'm a "new patient" but he would be happy to assist me tomorrow in office. Meanwhile I called another dentist office I don't have insurance for and the on call dentist was happy to answer any of my questions or concerns regardless of not having insurance through them because, COMPASSION. I had a simple question, needed a little advice for a child. I couldn't get that from Eastern dental because my insurance information wasn't in their system. Maybe that's policy, but I can't wait to change my dental converage. read more

Our entire family unit has been going here for decades. I seriously considered 5 stars but hey, it is a dentist office. Only annoying comment is the waiting. I have had the utmost experience here for the last 20 years. Dr. Levine is extremely insightful and friendly. He handles your teeth with care and makes sure you have a great experience. The techs are the best! Somehow, they remember everything about me and my family! it is comforting to know a neighborhood dentist actually feels like a neighbor. I had an 10:30 appointment today when I signed in I noticed there were 4 other customers who signed in before me that also had a 10:30 appointment. No one greeted me as I signed in. After 20 minutes I asked the girl behind the counter if I needed to do anything because its been a while since I signed in and haven't heard my name called. She said I will be next in the box. At 11;05 I was called into the box as they call it. The girl said your here for a cleaning, x-rays and to see the Dentist. I told her no x-rays I had them last time. I said it seems like your real busy I made an appointment for a cleaning I might not have time to see the Dentist. She walked out and sat in a chair in the next box to me. Another girl came in to move my pocketbook who I thought was the hygienist. I asked her how much longer? I think her reply was shortly. I said to her I'm not sure if I like this Dentist office I'm use to a small dental office with one dentist and one hygienist. At that point the Dentist came out and said to me "this fussing isn't helping matters and its just making things worse". I got up at this point and said I'm leaving and he rudely said have a nice holiday. I replied I'll never come back to this dentist office and walked out. Today I called to get an emergency appointment because of severe tooth pain and was told they don't handle emergencies, and that the earliest appointment they could give me would be July 1st. I am a new patient of the practice and have anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. Everyone here put me at great ease. I was given a tour of the office by their office Manager, Margaret Minotti before my appointment began. My exam with Dr. Alan Levine was exceptional he was up front with any procedures I would need done and took the time to explain the options/processes. Assistant and hygienist Erica and Esabel were great. I have extremely sensitive gums and was in no pain during of after my exam or cleaning (which was extremely thorough) Very happy to join as a patient here! read more

Not a very caring or organized group. You will have many appointments to get anything done and they will all be far apart. I think they are more concerned with getting the insurance billed and you out the door as fast as they can. Twice I had to call the emergency line. 1) I was told to pick up a prescrition for pain at my pharmacy, It was for motrin 600. They could have said take three motrin and saved me the aggrivation. 2) It was 3:50 before I got a return call and I was told to get dental cement from the pharmacy and glue my cap back in myself ! What good is an emergency line if the dentists do not want to be bothered with doing their job? I gave them 1 star because that is the lowest... read more

Eastern Dental is horrid. IF you have any other option from your insurance TAKE IT! The staff (esp @ the front desk is rude) you will wait up to 2 hrs after your scheduled appointment. I went in for an emergency appt the other day and I told the female Dr Gilati I had pain the night before and couldn't sleep and that i noticed my filling came out on the tooth that was causing me problems, so she said she can only do partial root canal and i would have to make an appt to get the rest done, so once she prepped and got everything ready she came over and made the first mistake of NOT warning me of what she was about to do to me which was jab me with a needle to numb the area, she just told me to open my mouth then stuck 2 needles in two areas, I've could of jerked or moved by Not knowing what she was doing, the professional thing to do is to tell your patient im going to numb you up now try to stay still! Once she numbed me i noticed she told her assistant that she was giving me a partial root canal on the wrong tooth, so I asked her why am I getting a root canal on a tooth thats not causing me problems and why not the one i was complaining about, she sucked her teeth and walked off, then came back with another Dr, I forgot his name either Dr Bill or Dr Lavine, Dr Gilati told the male Dentist I told her to do the tooth that wasn't causing me problems and now i switched it up, I couldn't believe she came back and lied right to my face and to the male doctor, I specifically told her which one it was, It don't make sense to even waste my time and to get the wrong tooth done and still be in pain when I leave, the male Dr said well since she already prepped for another tooth i would still have to get it done, I couldn't believe he said that and didn't care that it was the right or wrong tooth, they both showed me they didn't care one bit what tooth it was just as long as they're getting some type of payment they could care less I guess, He told me to basically deal with what she was about to do and he don't wanna deal with what's going on because Its almost a new year, That's the first time I've ever heard a doctor tell a patient he don't wanna deal with what im telling him and that it's about to be a new year!! I got up and told them its ok I'll find another Dentist who actually cares about their patients!! The male Dr said yeah that's a good idea because he didn't want to deal with me, then he said so do you wanna be in pain or do you want antibiotics?? I couldn't believe it, i just wish i could've recorded both of these disrespectful, unprofessional ppl,, i really thought it was a nightmare, so I had to leave with my mouth numb, tears rolling down my face and knowing that i was gonna be in so much pain for weeks to come!! The Worse experience I've ever endured from people that were supposed to be professionals!! I will warn all of my loved ones to never go to that place so they won't possibly get treated the way I've got treated! Oh and if I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would've! Walking into the office, I was unsure what the quality of service would be because of the size of the office. To my surprise, everybody was very helpful from the moment I walked in. The check up doctor was friendly and spent a lot of time with me. He was very focused on my specific needs and what he could do to help me.
