Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this groomer. The business hours/sign clearly state "7:00 AM-12:00 PM for drop-off", and when we called to make our appointment, Jeremy specifically confirmed that we could drop our dog off on the agreed-upon date within those hours. Like anyone else, we planned our day around that appointment and the expectation that the business would be available during the hours provided. Unfortunately, this has now happened three times. We have arrived during the agreed-upon drop-off window and no one has been there. On two of those occasions, there were also other customers waiting. One time, Jeremy did eventually text us, but it was after we had already arrived. We completely understand that things come up and that life happens, but a simple text or call letting us know that he would be running late or that something unexpected came up would have made a huge difference. What is most frustrating is that our time is valuable too. We made arrangements around these appointments, only to have to turn around, take our dog back home, and rearrange our plans. After multiple occurrences, it no longer feels like an isolated situation but a pattern. We genuinely try to support small, local businesses, but unfortunately we will not be supporting this one any longer. If you are someone who has other plans scheduled around your dog's grooming appointment, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. You cannot reliably plan your day around the drop-off hours or appointment time being honored. read more

Love Dandy Dogs. I take my dogs here to get their nails trimmed. Both of my dogs are a pain in the neck, squirmy and cry, when it comes to getting their nails trimmed. Pet Smart didn't even want to trim one of their nails because they were so difficult. My dogs do really well here. They are in and out and done in no time. I found these wonderful groomers online right around the Thanksgiving holiday. Not only did they fit me into their busy schedule, but they took amazing care of my little malti-poo puppy. We had a previous bad experience and Jeremy and his wife took the best care of Charlie. Jeremy took his time with him, getting him used to the clippers and ended up giving him the most beautiful first haircut! Love Dandy Dogs. Small family business, Jeremy has always taken fantastic care of my sweet Camille (cat). She can be a bit jumpy, and isn't the biggest fan of grooming, I'm protective over her but she loves Jeremy! He took such great care of her, she's a shoulder cat and finds comfort perching high up so he dried her on his shoulder. Really really kind genuine people, they understand how important your pets are. The only reason I put 4 stars is the pricing. I'm a college student on a budget and don't have $70 to cough up for a ~35 minute groom, and maybe I don't have a good understanding of economics but I just feel that's very steep for work getting done, and have begun grooming her at home. read more

The new owner, Jeremy is absolutely fantastic. He is so polite and professional. You can really tell he enjoys his job and the pups that he grooms. There are so many groomers in town that don't take large dogs and Jeremy took our 76 pound golden retriever who was covered in tar and made our pup the cleanest he's ever been. Took my dog in for grooming. We got there at 8:00am the shop was just opening. The man said my dog would be done in 2 to 3hours. At noon I went over my dog was not trimmed. I can't tell you how amazing Dandy Dogs is -- I was worried about our little Pekingese, Mamas. She is ~ 16 years-old and a little on the fragile side. As you can see from the photo, Marie did an AMAZING JOB. The owner, Marie, is so calm and has amazing eye contact. I walked away after dropping her off feeling assured and that I was in reliable hands. When I returned, Mamas was like putty in her arms. Not at all frantic, which is more often the case. Wonderful groomer! The location is in the same lot as 7/11 near DPHS. They open at 7:00 and you drop your dog off between that time and 11:00. We dropped our puppy off at 8:00 ish and picked him up at 11:00. He looked so happy and smelled so clean. They clearly treated him very well and even gave him a little bandana. Marie, the owner, also has groomed my mother's dogs also for years. One of them has some aggression problems and she is still groomed and happy coming out of Dandy Dogs. This is a dog that another groomer declined to groom (won't name names :P). Charlie, my dog, was clearly very relaxed and happy in there. This is my first experience with a dog groomer (aside from some time working as a bather 12 years ago, and the basic grooming we do at the animal hospital I work at. I inherited my miniature poodle from a boarding client at the hospital in fact, which is why I'm now joining the Fluffy Dog club... When I got Gigi she was a bit shaggy, and now 3 months later she looked like a giant furry tumbleweed. It was adorable, but her hair was getting tangly faster than I could brush it and she was constantly eating her beard.. I dropped her off around 7:30 am, and Marie was waiting and ready to listen to me bumble my way through my first grooming consultation. I had to go to work, and she assured me I could send my husband and aunt with money to pick her up at noon. I felt confident enough; with no idea what to expect I had to rely on Marie's skill and the fact that Gigi was adorable and her hair grows like crazy. I finally got to see her after getting home from work tonight, and as soon as she came running around the corner I burst out laughing (in a good way, I always do when I see her) and almost thought someone brought their tiny, well-groomed poodle over to replace my living muppet. Marie really had her work cut out for her; I'll try not to let her get so overgrown next time! She looks great, Marie did just what I asked, and I can't stop looking at her.. Cute little spot. Quality work! It's been some years, but we used to bring our black lab here for grooming. I was able to conveniently drop him off early in the morning and then come to pick him up later in the day when the groomer was finished. I have fond memories of seeing my dog happy as can be after his session with Dandy Dogs. He'd come out looking consistently clean, shiny, trimmed nails, and would be sporting a cute bandana around his neck. You could tell that Marie, the groomer, took good care of him. I'd compare it to the ultimate spa day, for your pet. Though our dog isn't around any longer, I'm happy to see that Dandy Dogs still is. Pros: They were very nice. Added a little bandana for a cute finishing touch. Cons: Hours are vague & Inconsistent. "We're here 7am until we finish". Came by one time and they were gone, so no good way of knowing if they will be open/available". This time I asked again about their hours. Told to bring my dog in between 7-11a & dogs are done in order of arrival. Brought him in at 10 and later informed he wouldn't be done til 3. If my dog has to sit around there for 5 hours you should be providing appointments. I came back around 3 although they hadn't called me yet (my dog had not ever been away this long so I wanted to check in), I felt unwelcome because she then rushed through the rest of his clipping and left many spots unfinished. I was also disappointed as I had very specifically asked for just a trim, & while the length was done well, his face was cut down completely and he was stylized & looked like a completely different dog. They take notes of how you had your dog groomed and can modify how ever you want each time you come in. Requires reservations, so plan in advance. It took me about a week to get in, which was perfect for my schedule. My Lhasa Apso cost $45 for a bath, groom, ears cleaned, nails clipped, and anal glands cleaned. read more
