Classy, professional and always on point! ...who am I kidding? These guys and gals are the most down to earth people. Always a warm and welcoming greeting. Oh, and they cut hair too! Been coming for 2 years after leaving the guy who cut my hair for 8 years and I haven't been happier. Always consistent and never a complaint about the final result, regardless of the actual person you get. My fiancé complains about the dollars spent since I come once every 2-3 weeks. Sure you can get a $5 cut down the road, but you definitely won't get the same result or experience. Money well spent in my books. Tip: book your appointment today! read more

Been coming here for more than a year now. It's usually pretty hard to impress me but Zac created what I would say is the best invention/innovation since sliced bread (should I say scissors since it's for haircut)! No joke, this place gets the art of haircutting to scientific precision. Consistent and great quality haircut e-v-e-r-y single time. I'm not being hyperbolic, Zac has an app to track your haircut with mind boggling resolution and when I say resolution, I'm being accurate. He has this app with a topology of your head divided into sections, there're options/configurations for every single section and it can only get better from here on. Think Big Data, the more data they have the more accurate things will be. So far I haven't been disappointed with any of my haircut. Enough of the tech side, it is truthfully haircut engineering (don't get me started again). Now the human aspect of things, the crews there are fun and super easy going, helpful and professional. A couple of dudes (Zac, Agustin) and gals (Lorin, Hailee) that I would totally hang out with. It is also a place where you can get a haircut and have a fun and intelligent conversation going. Appointments are hard to get so book ahead. Price is totally reasonable. They set the bar way high for other place to catch up. They are making a difference one cut at a time. I love the great rustic decor, great music, bars with coffee, beer, water and whiskeys, hah, I would hangout in the bathroom just to go through the collection of great historical photographs. Nuff said, Zac and the team has a good thing going here, it's more than a haircut place. Do I recommend it? Well...what do you think? Did I mention they have good whiskeys? read more

I've been getting my haircut at Danckuts for over 6 years now, so obviously I love it here. There are many reasons why I keep coming back - great service, friendly staff, chill vibes, but hands down the best thing about this place is certainty - how they're able to minimize the human factor from one barber to another and come dang close to guaranteeing you'll get the same identical haircut that you walked out with last time. And on the off chance that you aren't 100% satisfied with your cut even after a few days, they'd correct it free of charge. My only critic is that detail notes from each cut don't seem to always get passed on to future cuts. For example, 2 cuts ago, I told my stylist that I like to round out the top of my fade rather then leaving it more squared (which is more typical), and it came out perfect. On the next appointment, a different stylist knew without asking to round the corner and it was done exactly to my liking. But on this most recent cut done by another stylist, it went back to the squared corner. It's a very minor detail, something that I didn't even notice until the day after and chose to let it go, but I've had similar experiences on one or two occasions now and it makes me wonder how those special instructions are carried forward. But again, I'll be the first person to admit (and my wife'd be happy to testify) that I am extremely anal about my haircuts, and to date I've only had one maybe two instances where I wasn't completely happy with the result. read more

This is by far the best barbershop I have been to. They put a lot of effort and dedication on the cut you want and that is what separates this place from the rest. From Augustine in front making sure I'm checked in, taken care of as far as drinks (they serve alcohol here, which is awesome when I need to wind down after work) to taking progress pictures after each cut to see where I am at when it comes to my preferred hairstyle. Zac is a true artist when it comes to hair. He knows his shit and he makes sure his team are the best of the best. I've gotten my cut with everyone there and they are all on point and trustworthy with hair. I would definitely recommend this place and book an appointment. You'll never see any other place the same If that didn't sell you, did I mention the alcohol yet? :) read more

Let me start of by saying Zac and his team are awesome! I wish Danckut's nothing but success!!! If you want an amazing hair cut you MUST come here. Hands down the best on the coast! I am from Maryland and if I could I would fly out here every 2 weeks no joke they are the best. Guaranteed you won't leave unhappy! Enough said try them NOW! read more

My fiancé and I found Danckuts on yelp yesterday and went in this afternoon. The entire experience was fantastic from the first phone call for the appointment. Everyone was very professional and helpful. They did a great job and he is very happy. Will definitely return and highly recommend! PS. I also feel that I should add, there was no "ear whispering" lol (see below review). read more

Been wanting to try danckut's for a while, finally made an appointment yesterday. Great experience overall. Making an appointment on my phone was very easy, stylist was very professional and friendly. She explained how their system works and how your style parameters are entered into your profile. Theoretically, this means next time I go, any of their stylist should be able to replicate the same haircut. I'll give it another try and three weeks and provide another post.Until then, I highly recommend danckuts and give it a try read more

I'm pretty new to California so finding a good barbershop has been quite a challenge. I've been to a few places and they all have been meh. I'm not a religious guy but last night I felt like Jesus broke into my small, but expensive apartment, walked into my room and whispered "go to Danckuts dumbass". It turns out Jesus was right Danckuts was the place to go. This place has people that know what the fuck they are doing. They use the newest in tech to give you a pretty good cut. If you don't come here, then just give up and continue living the life of a dumbass because that's all you deserve. If you do come here, awesome, that's step one in your checklist of putting yourself right on track to having a more successful life. I don't usually yelp but it's a slow night and I am honestly pretty satisfied. To the guys at Danckuts keep doing what you're doing. ...I'll bring some brews next time. read more

These guys are great. They take haircuts passionately and do clean job. They also take pics of your head after the cut and note down the exact measurements so it can be repeated next time around. Very friendly staff. Offer you beer, whiskey, water when you first get in. Haircuts costs around $35 read more

This place is the spot. I have a lot of trust issues when it comes to my hair but boy do these guys break it down to a science. Literally! Everyone is super friendly, knowledgable and most importantly customer focus. If you haven't gone here yet, you are definitely missing out! read more

Been going to Danckut's for about 5 months now and the quality has been great every time. This is about as good as it gets for a men's haircut. They have a technical way of cutting hair which allows the quality of their cuts to remain consistent each visit no matter who is cutting your hair (They've expanded their staff to 3 now). Pairing this method with their system/app that records and stores pictures from past appointments, and its practically impossible to get a "Bad" haircut from here. The shop itself is great too! Ambiance is cool, you can get a free drink, watch TV, ect. Usually they run pretty on schedule so there isn't a ton of waiting around. The only hesitation I had before trying Danckut's was the price point. I've always spent around $15-20 for a haircut so spending $35 seemed excessive. But after a couple visits and many compliments I can safely say, at least for me, that the extra $15-20 is worth it. All in all it's just a fun, pleasant experience overall. Highly recommend! Just make sure to book an appointment several weeks in advance. read more

I've been going to Dankcuts for 3 years now. If you're looking for a clean and consistent cut, this is the place. It's quick, efficient, and looks great. Shout out to Agustin, Zac, and Lorin for the great work. Please open a Dankcuts in Denver! read more

The technology that they utilize to give you a great experience truly sets this place a part from the rest. They spend the time to get to know every hair on your head... I'm serious... It's as if they have individual conversations with all your hairs and ask them what they would like from this experience and then they get to work... Turning your hair into their art canvas and making their clippers/scissors their paint brush.... You are now art. Congratulations and welcome to the Danckuts experience. This place is a new age barber shop for men.. And they cannot expand fast enough... Book in advance because they are usually pretty full. read more

Well, I've been going to Cratchit Danckuts for about 2 years now and the first thing I'll say is that this place is amazing. There is a reason why Cratchit Danckuts consistently gets 5 star reviews on Yelp, and it's not just to blow smoke up people's asses. Zac is a great barber. He never ceases to amaze me on how much dedication and passion he has for his craft. From the time I first started going to him til now, he has never stopped improving. You can tell he is always honing his craft, always learning, and most of all always caring for his customers. From the moment you step foot in the shop, you're always greeted with a warm welcome (oh did I mention the free booze?). The fine folks over at Cratchit Danckuts always make you feel like you're part of the family. That being said- is it hard to get an appointment at the time you want? Yes. Is it always busy as hell? Yes. But what do you expect? There's only 2 people cutting hair! I will say, however, that they will always try their best to accommodate your needs. Quality over quantity, people. Plus, I know they're planning on adding more people to the team. I know everyone tries to get their hair cut by the famous Zac Reese (Barber/Playboy extraordinaire), but if he's all booked up, don't worry! Cause the new addition to the team, Lorin, is pretty friggin awesome. Zac really has trained her well and she knows how to do everything he can. So if you can't get a spot with Zac, don't worry cause you're in good hands with Lorin. She's sweet, genuine, and really knows her stuff. Let us not forget about Agustin, the guy who's booking all your appointments and doing all the scheduling. He's always on his A game and if you ever need to reschedule an appointment, just give him a call and he will try his best to pencil you in at another time. He's very quick with getting back to customers and he's a super chill guy. If this and all the other 5 star reviews haven't persuaded you, go ahead schedule an appointment, and see for yourself! Bet you won't be disappointed :) read more

After reading Wesley's review and seeing the 5 out of 5 star rating, I decided to give Cratchit Danckut's a try. The place has a very cool, modern, and relaxing vibe. The waiting area is comfortable and Augustin made sure I was taken care of with some scotch whiskey. Lorin is very friendly and you can tell she is passionate about her work. Bottom line: I received a great haircut from Lorin, for my first appointment, and that is no easy task. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Every man needs a good barber. Look no further with Danckuts. I found out about Zac through a friend when I was in need of a haircut. I looked him up on Yelp, and was really impressed withhis mission of making each cut perfect (and the perfect 5 star reviews he had) When I had my first appointment I didn't realize Zac was renting out a chair from a local salon in Irvine. It struck me as a real surprise, but I was optimistic about getting a haircut from someone new. He was extremely nice and showed his passion for what he does the minute we met. He examined my hair before even picking up a comb. He asked what cut I wanted and began cutting. Every step he took, he took the time to also explain what he was doing and how. Now years later, I'm still getting my haircuts here. There's seriously no place else that does what Danckuts has done. I'm glad that I remained a long time customer of Zac and seen his business grow to what it is today. If you are a OC native and looking to get a fresh haircut, look no further than at Danckuts. It is appointment only, so don't just walk in expecting to be seen (or do and set up an appointment and kick it a bit). The staff are extremely nice, and it has expanded to not only Zac cutting hair, but Lorin and Hailee as well who are just as amazing. Each of them are skilled and will provide the same quality haircut each time. Can't wait to see what Zac has in store for the future of Danckuts. read more

One stop shop for your haircut! Zac and the team has an amazing system going here at Danckuts and will have you leaving satisfied every time. If you're looking for a place to get your haircut, this is the place to go. read more

Having had family cut my hair most of my life I honestly had a hard time trusting someone new with a cut, but a recommendation from a friend brought me to Danckuts and I've had a fantastic experience with them so far. Very professional, affordable and extremely consistent. The way they keep track of your cut with pictures and notes means you always get the same cut no matter who cuts it, which is great for scheduling. Their text-based appointment reminders are also invaluable for people with busy schedules who have a hard time fitting in the time for an appointment. Very highly recommend them! read more

Love the atmosphere, the people are cool and they do good hair! I was looking for a new look and had no idea what to do. They helped me through my decision and I love what they did. I could've sworn that I already wrote a review about this amazing place, but after over two years of going here every 2 weeks I never did. First things first, the staff. Starting with Zac. When i first started going here I was just looking for a place close to work where I could get a haircut. My first haircut I ever had here was with Zac and I was blown away by how much care and attention someone else took to my hair. He assured me that no matter who cut your hair that it was GUARANTEED to be the same. After a couple weeks I came back and after all the clients Zac sees everyday, he saw me and welcomed me back when I walked in the door and I've never felt so welcomed into someone's place of business. Now Ryan and Jordan are great guys as well. I always know that I'm going to have a great conversation with them and the amazing girls there. They always ask me about my job and how it's going and are always so willing to listen. They remember everything and it's a great feeling knowing that people care so much about you. Danckuts, you guys are truly great people and thank you for always giving me an amazing haircut. I don't care what other people say on Yelp because instead of bringing their problems to Zac who would be so willing to fix the problem immediately and genuinely care. You hide behind the wall of Yelp like a coward instead of being a man and facing your problem face to face. Zac and Danckuts keep kicking ass! read more

I went in for the first time at this place as I just moved back to Irvine and wanted to get a cut closer to home. Worst cut I've had in a long time. I have a hard part flip cut and the guy that did my cut tried to tell me where my part was as if I hadn't been parting my hair in the same spot for years. He had a unique name but i can't think of it now. Granted it's first cut out of quarantine but I showed him my pic with a nice fresh cut and be barely looked at it as if we were just going to start fresh. Sorry bro, I'm not starting fresh. Been getting this cut for years just listen to my direction. He went with the hard part before consulting me and the hard part screwed the whole cut let alone he took very little off the top. He told me i needed to grow out my cowlick another thumb length haha. To my hair has been growing for two months because of quarantine. He did my fade ok but this cut was whack and that guy needs more training. I won't be back. I still have him a 20% tip as he did perform a service. Sorry to be so harsh but I'm not too happy at the moment. Also this place doesn't even have barber chairs. I sat in an adjustable desk chair. read more

I've been here to danckut's to 4 times now, and every time my cut has been on point. They've got a dope system that matches what you are looking for with the type of hair you got, and my hair is dope every time I walk out. Also, any place that's gonna offer me beer at 9am is okay with me. Be back soon. read more

I am extremely impressed by Zac and his business ideals and methodology, as well as his dedication to haircutting as an art. He keeps a particular look and feel to the place, from the decor to the offered beverage refreshments. After asking you for what kind of hairstyle you want, he walks you through what he will do to your hair and why. As many people have mentioned, he is the only hairstylist there so it's hard to get an appointment, but he told me he's going to hire a couple more guys in the near future. I for one think it is very prudent business-wise to start small, and control the growth. I've seen a lot of businesses get too excited and over expand too quickly at the expense of quality. edit: came back after a couple months. Zac is training another haircutter! Her name is Lauren I believe, and he's training her to cut to the same standard as himself. Look forward to being able to come here more frequently read more

Great place with super friendly staff and a system for ensuring you get the same great cut every time.

Waiting for my man to get his asian fade while I sip on a Glenlivet 12 neat. Danckuts specializes in engineering hair the way men love it - consistently each time and my boy has booked himself with Zac each month for the rest of 2015. He's that good and my boy walks away happy every time. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are finding yourself frustrated with lack of consistency or precision with other hair stylists. Try Danckuts out and give this place a shot because they will find what you like, take a picture as well as write down the exact way they cut your hair. There's a laid-back bar in the back and they'll offer you a drink while you wait. The staff is courteous and everyone here is down to earth. Make an appointment - you'll have a slim shot getting seen with walk ins. Btw - Zac and Augustine may be single, so don't be scared to holla at em girls! ;) read more

Zak, thanks for the response. But let's not squabble over how many minutes late I was - reasonable peop . . . err . . . iPhones . . . can disagree. But I do want to point out that I never received a confirmation text or phone call for this appointment, so it sounds like you might have some technology bugs to work out (or you guys lost my number)! Again, I don't really have an issue with the policy per se; as I said, it's the lack of notice and ensuing waste of my time I take issue with. I had to hit the road to go to Santa Barbara that afternoon, so I didn't have much time to throw around. My toddler's barber shop has its late policy posted at the check-in desk, so we do our darnedest to cajole/bribe/manhandle* little Ryan into his car seat, and hurry our behinds over there so as not to be late. Anyway, I'm not saying that I won't give y'all another chance - the point was to dish some constructive criticism, and let others know about the policy in case they didn't know. But lastly, since you already give free beer to all customers,** shouldn't you offer me something else? Like at least two free beers?! *If CPS is reading this, the "manhandle" comment was in jest. Really. **Over the age of 21. read more

I've been coming to Danckuts for over a year now. I love the idea and concept. Zac and his team are great. I always leave feeling completely satisfied. I loved the old team, but had an issue with one of the new employees that started after Zac opened up his second location. I was so glad that Brittany could tell I was feeling a little distressed and checked on me and fixed what I was worried was going to be the first cut I didn't like from Danckuts. Zac even checked on me afterwards. When I responded was the cut was "OK," he asked me to step outside and talk to him about it. He genuinely cares about his business and that everyone has the best possible experience. An OK cut is not acceptable in his book. Just that alone makes me want to come back despite one bad experience. He turned a 2-3 star experience back to a 5 star one. Thank you, Zac! Wish you the best and hope to be a happy and loyal customer for many years to come. read more

Most reviews on here are about the great work Zac does... I just wanted to say that I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Lorin and she was AWESOME. She faded my hair perfectly...etched in a hard part for me and gave me pointers on how to style my hair easily and not fight it like i usually do. She really took her time and it didn't feel like she was just cutting my hair in some cookie-cutter fashion. I seriously loved the cut when she was done! She made all these notes in her Ipad and said I would have this exact cut the next time i came back ( which will be in exactly 1 month). Zac inspected her work once she was done...he turned me around, ran a comb through my hair...asked me what I thought, and then said it was perfect. I will not go anywhere else =) Thanks for chatting with me Augustine while I was waiting. Amazing shop. MUST TRY if you haven't!!! read more

Luckily enough if it wasn't for a friend's recommendation I would have never found this place. I am very meticulous about people cutting my hair and couldn't have gone to a better place. Danckuts is nestled in the back of a shopping center, so don't feel alarmed if you feel you reached the wrong destination when your GPS leads you there. It is the best place for a haircut by far. When walking in the door as a first time customer you will instantly feel welcomed as a "regular". I think it's pretty cool they were able to offer a drink when waiting for your appointment and their interior decor was far out! Their professionalism is greatly noticed when greeted or taking the time to listen for specifics in what you are trying to achieve with your hair. I am definitely coming back! So I've been going here for around 2 years now and can't believe I haven't made a review on Yelp yet! This place is honestly as good as it's going to get for a haircut and the 5 star reviews say it all. The second you walk in, you're automatically greeted with a smile and handshake welcoming you inside. They offer you complimentary beverages as well which is a nice touch. The interior look was renovated relatively recently and I love it ! It's got like a bright modern industrial look that seems to belong more so in DTLA then the cookie-cutter shopping centre it's in. Once they call you back, they'll take you through the whole process of making sure you're getting the perfect cut every time no matter which one of them cuts your hair. (You tend to rotate between all of them throughout your different appointments). They really have a way of knowing exactly what you want and offer great suggestions for those of you who are more on the indecisive side like me! After the cut, they'll rinse off your hair and then blow dry and apply product to your hair! It truly is a unique experience here in that they write down everything they do in Ipads to make sure you get the same quality cut every time. You also get pictures taken of your cut at the end to replicate it the next time. All of the staff here are incredibly chill and all of them give a stellar cut! It's a very relaxed and casual vibe with them. Cuts are around $35 which isn't bad at all considering the quality cut you get! Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time because they most likely won't have any available on the day of unless someone cancels. Really didn't realise how much I enjoy this place until I left the country for a few months and no cut could even come close to this place! Totally recommend !! read more
