If I could give zero stars, I would. My son started attending this location in 2024. On his second day, I received a message from his teacher stating that he was disrupting nap time, being noisy, and causing other issues. I understood that adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for young children, so I took their concerns seriously and worked with my son to reinforce quiet time. However, I continued receiving messages from his teacher daily, and it reached the point where I was anxiously anticipating another complaint. One day, I noticed his nap blanket was covered in leaves, as if he had been outside. When I asked him, he told me that he did his "quiet time" outside. When we inquired about this, the school denied it. Later, I was called into a meeting with the behavioral technician, Jessica Triptow. At the time, I had no idea about her legal troubles (you can google it) but in hindsight, knowing she was involved in my child's education is deeply unsettling. During the meeting, we were advised to enroll our son full-time to help him adjust to the routine. He was later moved to another class with a more patient teacher. During another meeting, I had the opportunity to review the classroom cameras and witnessed a disturbing incident where a teacher forcefully picked up a child who refused to go inside after playtime and dropped him roughly. Thankfully, the child was not an infant, but it was still highly concerning. Eventually, the school suggested that my son be evaluated for possible autism this recommendation was made by Jessica Triptow (which by the way, made it to the news for very disturbing reasons, you can google it) Shortly after, we were informed that he could not return unless we provided a classroom "shadow" at our own expense, so basically paying another person to do their job . This entire experience was frustrating, stressful, and deeply disappointing. In retrospect, I am relieved that we decided to remove our child from this location. I have since spoken to other parents who shared similar concerns about this center. While I hope other locations uphold higher standards, I cannot in good conscience recommend this one. I initially had high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing like what we had hoped for. My son has been attending this school since he was 3. In the beginning things were going really well. I would tell anyone who asked that this was an amazing school! When we began transitioning from Preschool to Kindergarten, things took a noticeable turn. Dancing Moose holds a parent orientation for families considering moving forward with the school, and during that meeting I was very intentional about asking questions--specifically about how they support children with ADHD and how academic testing is handled. Throughout the entire meeting, I was repeatedly assured that they had extensive experience working with children with ADHD and other neurodivergent needs. I was told that if my child were to fall behind, teachers would work with him one-on-one to ensure he stayed on track. I want to emphasize that I had been advocating for my son and asking these same questions throughout our entire time at Dancing Moose, and every conversation reinforced the same assurances. During that meeting, we were also told that tuition decreases each year, which later turned out to be false. Additionally, we were not informed that Pre-K and Kindergarten classes would be combined, nor that there would be one fewer teacher in the classroom. We didn't learn this until the Friday before school started. The optics of this situation are troubling. Withholding information that could significantly influence a family's decision feels intentional--especially when, by the time parents were informed, other schools were already full and our options were limited. The clear impression left was that this school prioritized profit over transparency and education. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. When Kindergarten began, my son was placed in Ms. Ellie's class. Almost immediately, he started saying things to me like, "I can't tell you what happened today because Ms. Ellie will get me in trouble," or "Ms. Ellie got me in trouble today," and heartbreakingly, "I wish Ms. Ellie loved me like Ms. Taylor." This was entirely new behavior for him. He even began saying, "I just won't talk anymore, Mom." Watching my child's spirit be slowly crushed by this classroom environment was devastating. What made this even more frustrating was the disconnect between what I was being told by administrators and what I was personally witnessing. I went on field trips and observed nothing out of the ordinary in his behavior--if anything, he was calmer than several other students. The feedback from the school simply did not align with reality. Then, I was called into a meeting with his teacher and the school director and told that my son was "aggressively disruptive." We were presented with a "care plan" and given a two-week deadline. When I expressed concern that two weeks felt insufficient to see meaningful, positive change--and that it felt like he was being set up to fail--Ms. Ellie responded with visible irritation and said, "There is no magic number here. We have other students who need our attention." The clear impression was that she had no interest in helping my son succeed. This only reinforced why my son had begun expressing that he felt unloved or disliked by his teacher. During that same meeting, it was explained that if there was no improvement after the two-week "probation," I would be required to hire an in-class aide to sit with my son for eight hours a day--at my own expense--because the school lacked the resources to support him. This is while paying over $1,300 per month in tuition. Following that meeting, my son began receiving daily "write-ups." This felt eerily similar to how corporate environments create a paper trail when they want to terminate someone without outright saying it. It became very clear that the school did not want to work with my child or make any genuine effort to support him. This is a school that puts profit over education. If your child isn't "easy," they will make you feel unwelcome and systematically target your child until you either pay more money or withdraw. Ultimately, I made the decision to pull my son from this school and enroll him in public school. Since then, I have not received a single call about his behavior--not one. I regularly email and text his teacher for updates and receive overwhelmingly positive feedback. He is testing exactly where he should be, and in fact, higher than many of his peers. There have been no calls from principals or administrators labeling him as a "problem" or a "bad kid." I am writing this review for parents of neurodivergent children--or even children who simply have a lot of energy. This school is not for you. The damage they can do to your child's confidence and spirit is immense. They will misrepresent their capabilities for as long as possible to extract as much money as they can. Do not bring your children here. Find a school that is ethical, transparent, and genuinely invested in your child's education and well-being. read more

We decided to enrolled our son at Dancing Moose after having a bad experience at a different preschool. We took a tour and were blown away by the campus. They have the most beautiful garden where they spend every week learning about nature and taking care of the earth. Every classroom has everything on their level and natural materials set up in a curated minimalist way so it's not overwhelming or overstimulating. Every classroom is bright with natural light and has a door directly outside. The location could not be better. This campus is right in the middle of Thanksgiving point and my son has loved getting to go on field trips to all the neighbouring museums. We went from our son being scared to go to school and not confident in himself to a completely different boy in a matter of weeks. He is independent, making so many friends, learning boundaries and how to respect the earth and others. Every time we drive home he talks to me about different cultures he is learning about, planets, numbers, etc. He has said numerous times that the food there is "oo la la" and he even ate salad!! Need I say more? His teacher, Ms. Annie is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. She has shown my son so much love and compassion while being there to guide him into being the best version of himself. We cannot recommend this school more. read more

We loved our experience here, not because there were no challenges, but because challenges were met with curiosity, options, and concern for the best outcome for my child. I toured one of their locations, and what a beautiful campus! So much of what I saw over there was truly amazing--state of the art hand washing machine, 4 LCD televisions displaying every classroom by video surveillance, tight security procedures at the entrance, a garden with a professional gardener, a professional cheif and dietician, a large playground, an on-site Montessori accreditation center for teachers, which they petitioned for, and access to Thanksgiving Point play centers, etc., etc. Unfortunately, after I turned in the application and paid the app fee, I received an extremely uncomfortable phone call where I felt shammed for even applying and for even considering their school for my child, they told me that it would not be the best place for my son. I had read the parent handbook beforehand, which mentioned they accepted children on the spectrum and that my child would require a shadow or an RBT. We were willing to pay for a shadow/RBT for my son, but they decided based off of my application that their school would not be able to meet the needs of my son. I felt prejudged and truly shammed over the phone by their "Behavior Specialist" and admin staff. "Why would you even consider applying here?" "We just can't figure out why you would want to bring your son here??" This school goes up to 2nd grade. My children's needs may be very different in a year or so. I was honestly shocked and surprised by the rudeness, unprofessionalism and entitled attitude. I was in love with their school and felt like their biggest fan in the morning and was completely divorced by the afternoon. What a shame. We would have loved to enroll both of our boys here, if not this year, possibly the next. Now, I feel like my children might be better off not attending a school like this. In addition, I feel like I need to say to the school, please stop taking money from parents with children with special needs. It's gross. Also please amend your application to say, "If you check more than two of these boxes, please contact our administrative staff to discuss your child's needs before applying," and make it impossible for any applicant to hit enter if more than two boxes are checked. Also, please consider amending the parent handbook to say that children on the spectrum, even with an RBT, will not be admitted if their needs are pre-determined to be out of the school's scope of practice. Children must be mostly if not fully independent, even with an RBT, and there will be no trial period for your child. All that being said, I hope all Montessori schools will make a greater effort to make inclusion a real part of their vision for the future. They are capable of doing it, and it is possible. Teaching children about differences, by providing real world, everyday encounters with classmates who have needs greater than the majority teaches humanity, charity, patience, uniqueness and love . . . all things this world desperately needs more of. Inclusion is also one of the sweetest love languages I know. It is a worthy and necessary investment for any educational program that claims to be of any quality. If you have the means to make the world a better place, which it is very apparent that you do, please do it. Choose a school where everyone is represented, valued, and seen. May you all be so blessed to have a child with special needs in your classrooms. read more

My grandson transferred to Dancing Moose 2 years ago. It has been a fantastic experience! He has moved from preschool to the elementary program and is flourishing in his comprehension of math concepts and his ability to manage his time and self regulate. The teachers at Dancing Moose have gone out of their way to show him kindness and encourage him in his love of learning. We love Dancing Moose. We first brought our son here in 2018 to the South Jordan for their toddler program. He had the most amazing teachers who showed love and encouraged learning, not just childcare. When the Museum Campus opened closer to our house, we jumped on it as our daughter would now be able to attend their toddler program and our son could attend Elementary. The Elementary program is amazing. He has 2 wonderful teachers who show love and compassion while providing him the challenge he needs. he loves going in to his class everyday and is excited to share what he's learned. Our daughter has thrived! From being a toddler with early intervention to a preschooler now who is right on track, she has grown so much and we owe it to the learning environment and loving teachers with a passion for their jobs! This could be a good experience for a child who likes to work alone, likes a highly structured environment, and prefers not to have to interact with other kids much. My 4-year-old son started here a few weeks ago, super excited. He loved his part-time preschool last year. But after a week he started crying when we dropped him off, and he rarely had anything positive to say about his day. The implementation of Montessori here is very rigid. Kids aren't just encouraged to choose the activities that interest them. They aren't allowed to play together. "Only one child can play with blocks at a time." They are only allowed to play together during the one 10 minute recess. Because the preschool class is mixed with younger children, everyone has to stay on their mat in the dark room for 2 hours. They don't have any way to accommodate older kids who don't nap, or take a 20 minute nap. When I brought up my concerns, neither the teacher or director had any ideas for making it a better experience. They just repeat back their policies, and told me it might not be a good fit. I found the school very rigid, and inappropriate for most preschoolers. It might have worked for him at age 2. read more
