After informing them I would be taking legal action, they dropped the charges against me. I will upload one more star..

La Petite has been JUST what I have needed in a pre-school program…read more I am a single mom and because I share custody of my son he is only there certain days. The La Petite staff has always been extremely accommodating with my schedule with my son. Sometimes he needs to go extra when I have him over spring or over fall break and they have always been willing and able to work with me. I cannot say how nice that is! Along with the schedule, my son genuinely looks forward to going to preschool/daycare. He wakes up in the morning and asks, "Can I go to school now?! I don't want to miss Ms Linda." (Who is his absolute favorite) I'll admit, after a few changes in ownership over COVID I was really worried about what would happen. However, I have been extremely impressed by all of the staff members at La Petite Academy in East Lehi. They genuinely care and love my son. They serve healthy (but yummy!) meals, have a clean atmosphere and have amazing curriculum that makes school fun and a good environment for learning. I don't have anything negative to say. I guess if I really tried hard to think of something to say is that we want more Ms. Linda! Thank you for providing a safe, fun and loving environment for my son, La Petite!

My bonus baby's time at La petite in Lehi started out well and progressively went down hill since…read morethe begining of this year. I am writing this with dads agreement. There was a change in management earlier this year and since then the issues started. Incident reports went for weekly to daily occurrences. Communication from the teachers (and I use the term loosely) was not happening. Daily questions from dad and mom of how our sons day were, was answered of it was good, he had a good day nothing happened but here's an incident report. About a month to a month and a half before we dis-enrolled him a teacher stated that every child was placed on a behavior plan and it was started a few days prior to communicating it to the parents. Later that week another teacher said it was just our son due to his behaviors after giving me another incident report. I asked why it was not communicate to us prior and what was going on. I then received the run around and no real answers except to speak to the front desk person. There wasn't a front desk person when I went in but I did run into her on the way out in a hallway not at the desk. Same questions and again no answers. I did let dad know and we began watching the cameras more closely. There is also another problem that escalated into restraining and secluding our son with out supervision. The teacher stated that they would strap him into a high chair so he didn't eat off of other kids plates or the floor. After watching the cameras we saw where he was strapped into the high chair pushed up against the wall under the coat cubbies and not checked in for over 10 mins at a time. He would throw a fit and try to get out and almost pull the chair over but no one would check on him. This was the teachers way of time out. Again nothing was communicated to his parents, dad or mom about him being in time out. This is restraining and secluding a child and child endangerment. We did attempt to speak to management which they said they weren't aware of any of this going on. They took the high chair out of the room after our meeting and stated that the teacher was also bringing moved to a different classroom because she couldn't handle it in the toddler classroom. This was in place before we even spoke to management. Management also stated they would schedule time for us to discuss what was happening with the teachers. After a week nothing was scheduled so dad and I addressed concerns with the teacher that was moved when we picked him up. The teacher said he was hitting kids and that's why she started the behavior chart. She would chart that he had incidents 20 times or more a day but couldn't tell why it was happening. She said she tried time out and hugs. Again questions of why nothing is communicated to the parents, why other things like redirection was not tried and if those punishments weren't working prior to the behavior chart then why continue them were asked but weren't answered except with I'm not a behavioral therapist. He did also receive an incident report that day as well. Management did talk to us again that day and admitted that they did know what all was going on and when questioned why they didn't tell us when we spoke the last time about it she shut down and stopped communicating with us as well. The next day they called dad and stated I was not allowed to come back as the staff felt threatened and parents were concerned. I never threatened anyone, never cussed at anyone or wasnt disrespectful. Yes we were frustrated and upset by the neglectful treatment of our son which is completely understandable. I asked questions about what was going on and didnt allow the teacher and management to run around the issues Like they would do with dad and mom. We did watch closely after that while he was still attending until we could find another daycare. But the last straw where we dis-enrolled him without another place to go was the day dad got a message asking if he knew about the scratch on his thigh that they saw at 8am but notified dad at 1pm. He said no he knew nothing. His day went on as usual. Picked him up signed the incident report and went home. At bath time we saw the scratch. It was more than a scratch. It was in fact a bite mark that was so hard it bruised his thigh and broke skin in 4 places through his pants. This happened with in an hour of him being there with one other child in the room and a teacher. The teacher wasn't watching the 2 kids long enough for it to happen but could tell us the 20 times he hit another kid? We received a total of 11 copies out of what feels like a hundred incident reports as well. We've requested copies of all of them multiple times. Answered with yes we will get them to you but only 11 were provided. We do plan to report the faculty as well. If they are doing this to one child i would imagine it will happen to others. If your child is in La Petite in Lehi I'd use them with severe caution and advise to look else where for childcare.

I first met Miss Janice before I ever had children. I was teaching sixth grade at a public school…read morein town and knew she was also a licensed educator. I've had the opportunity to be around Miss Janice on social levels and also in the community. I was always impressed with her calmness and the way she smiled and treated children and adults alike. I knew long before having children that I wanted her to be my child's preschool teacher. In 2019, I now had a child old enough to attend preschool so we filled out the form and returned it to her home bright and early on the first day of registration so that we could be sure to get a spot the following school year. It was a snowy day and we were covered in slush and mud, but she wanted me to be able to tour the preschool and let my son see where he would be going to school. She got on his level and spoke kindly to him, she immediately figured out his interests as she walked him around the classroom and she explained everything to him and I. She told him she was excited to be his teacher and that she would see him soon. He has been in preschool for five months now and I have seen dramatic improvement in his overall behavior and his excitement for learning. She is a loving teacher who guides children with praise and positive reinforcement. She sticks to the rules, but in a loving manner. Every morning, he is so excited to go to preschool and get some stuff ready for the day before we walk out the door. He has learned a good routine, he has made good friends, and we like the group of children and parents that also attend this preschool. Her sister and Co-teacher, Miss Jen, is also wonderfully poised and kind. Both of them have regal personalities that make me feel confident my child is learning and growing happily. The communication between teacher and parent is very good as she uses take-home notes, email, and a texting service. I feel safe having my child in her home and feel safe when he is in her care for field trips and other outings. I would highly recommend this preschool because of the growth I have seen in my own child and the happiness it has brought to our family.
