At the end of class, the beginners group and the advanced group danced together in a circle. I didn't enjoy that as much, since I was 60% confused what with it being my first class and all. But the advanced dancers were actually very nice, except for one woman who yelled "wrong way" when I messed up a turn and kinda ruined the vibe for me. Girl, this is not Fame and you are not Debbie Allen, let me 'lone! Overall, the class was lots of fun and I can't wait to get to keep going and get a little better!

They host a dance social called Mambo Mayhem every third Saturday of the month, which includes a class at the beginning, followed by social dancing for the rest of the night which is a great way to complement and practice what you're learning in class. I always look forward to both the classes (especially Afro mambo) and Mambo Mayhem, as well as seeing all the friends I've made here. If you've been thinking about taking classes, just do it! We wanted to book their wedding package but didn't know when to book it. Ray (worker) convinced us to buy it in advance and start the classes around August 2025 before our wedding in November. We book their class no contract was signed nor any explanation of terms and conditions. There is no refund policy display on their website. We asked for a refund by calling in and spoke with the owner Sam and explained why we needed a refund and apologized for the inconvenience in advance. For we called months in advance before starting the classes. Sam said he would call me back and never did. I called back multiple times, over a week later no response. Sam finally called me back stating he won't issue a refund because they simply just don't that and advise to sell my intro to someone else so they can pay me and take our wedding package. I told him that was not legal to refuse a refund with advice provided from his workers to book in advance for our wedding without us signing anything or having a policy anywhere displayed. Sam stated he will call me back in a few days with a solution and never did once again. I called back two days ago asking for Sam to call me and never received a call. It's been another week now. The company is simply "ghosting" us. The company has multiple different numbers all which I reached out too. The only cancellation policy they have does not pertain to any of their wedding packages only private lessons and group classes which is separate to their wedding package. We ultimately paid $750. We cancelled our wedding package because our wedding venue property has been sold and had to cancelled our wedding due to the inconvenience.

So, I figured I would share it so that others know about it. We were waiting for our class to begin and we overheard Rex, the studio owner screaming and berating one of his students. It wasn't like he was being a "firm" teacher, he was insulting his student by SCREAMING insults at her like you are "fucking stupid". It went on and on.....We couldn't take it anymore. I said something to him about it being unprofessional and disrespectful to treat women this way and we left. We asked for our money back. But, he refused. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS MAN. Nobody should be rewarded for this kind of behavior. We unfortunately referred some friends to the studio for private lesson. They got paired with Rex, the owner. He no showed them twice. Again, disrespectful of their time by the owner, Rex. They now know they dodged a bullet when I told them what happened. There are so many dance studios to choose from. So, choose a different one!

The group dance classes provide a relaxing and fun way to learn the basic steps. Mat is good to share the history and evolvement of the 7 different basic dances. I would that fun and interesting. I chose dance as a form of exercise and I appreciated being reminded of my posture and form -- foot placement, hand placement. It was repetitive so that I could retrain my brain to use the correct form. As part of the dance packages, you are invited to a group dance class and dance party every Friday which provides a convenient forum to practice what you are learning. There are couples and singles and although I attended as a single, during the dance parties, other dancers ask you to dance. The Ballroom Institute is a fun place to get your dancing shoes on in West Cobb!

As a first time dance parent, this was a rocky season that will end with no return…read more First, there's only one dance instructor throughout the school, meaning the owner is the coach (which SHOULD be no problem) but sis needs to stop being cheap and hire some help. She's running classes between 4-5 year olds to 12, maybe 14 year olds and all their parents included. That's a lot of people to deal with.... I've seen upset moms, who walk out cussing to the fathers, moms with tears because they spent their last on what they thought was needed for the recital. So ehat was ridiculous to me was when recital time came, the whole week the coach said she didn't want anyone contacting her and to contact her "volunteers" which are temps for whatever she's doing (not reliable and very unprofessional) smh. Second, we pay a good penny to see our girl dance, only for some to perform and some not. I was very excited the first 3 months seeing my 4 year old dance and make friends BUT AFTER I paid my first deposit the same day the coach told me my daughter might not perform well because she "plays" too much in class. My smile immediately went to a frown and I was wondering "well what the hell has my daughter been doing for 3 months and what WILL she do in the next 3?" Not a good position to be in as a spending parent. It also has me thinking why are u hosting a 4-5 year old class of 10-15 girls by yourself... don't you think that's a bit much for that age group? I think at that point I should've just asked for the refund and kept her in the main class or even found another hobby but noooooo I wanted to see if my baby would beat the odds. Third, RECITAL TIME ! The coach not only inconvenience u on Sundays at 2pm with zoom meetings like people don't have family's and go to church, but us parents had to purchase SO MANY things on our own like a whole kaboodle bag FULL of makeup (foundation, blush, mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner, nail polish AND remover, lipstick, hair spray, Advil/Tylenol, baby wipes, hair pins, brushes, combs, scissors, lint rollers, deodorant, perfume, and many more items that I felt a 4 year old should not have or be in possession of) I think she had plans on hiring a makeup artist and she never showed (not surprised) with the attitude she carries. she doesn't have a package for leotard, tights, shoes, so u have to provide it ALL! IN THE RIGHT COLOR! or your baby doesn't perform. seems like with such strict rules you would have these things in order so that your girls could easily perform, right?. Lastly, after the recital I ask the coach if I could get my daughters uniform that was changed by her "volunteers" during the first part of the recital... she fumbled around for what ended up being a week, saying she had to contact other parents to see if everyone had theirs but my daughter NEVER received hers.... PERIOD. So of course, I was upset and offended, this lady who had us wasting all of our time and money didn't want to give me the uniform for my child that I paid for, very absurd. So I told her that I will file a civil court case which she had ALOT of choice words for me lol I didn't care because my word was going to hold up in court and she wasn't getting another penny out of me. However, that was the only way I was able to obtain my daughters uniform. The unprofessionalism, the inconsideration, her attitude towards parents especially the ones who don't want to volunteer their time or praise her (please stop being cheap and hire some help) is not worth the experience. We talking $70/month (one class a week) with 6 months of prep for the recital, $250-$350 for uniforms, over $150+ for the items like ballet and jazz shoes in nude AND black, leotards BOTH COLORS, tights IF THEY ARENT THE RIGHT COLOR I SEEN HER TELL PARENTS TO DYE THEM ‍, $25 membership dues, THE WASTED MONEY SPENT ON THE KABOODLE BAG. They always ask us to support our people, but we can't when this is the result. This is why we choose opposite.
