This studio is hands down the best place I've discovered since moving to Atlanta…read more As an adult, it's so hard (in any city... I've looked) to find classes that are curated for adults and not as just an add on to a kid's studio. I grew up taking dance classes but only got to a certain level... but enough to want to keep up with it and learning new choreography. That kind of class just isn't as available as you grow up. I don't need to perform anywhere, though I believe Dance 101 offers it, it's more about learning amazing choreo every week and getting both the physical and mental joy. Dance 101 does all of that. There's so SO many options of different dance styles, difficulty level, and instructors who all have their unique ways of teaching. And a huge schedule every day (except Friday). Amazing place, amazing classes, and now that I've moved away... I can't find another place like it. Shout out to contemporary hip hip on Monday nights with Mo! My favorite time of week every week and made me actually look forward to the work week :)

This is a wonderful place for dancers of all ages and levels of experience! After searching high…read moreand low for a place that caters to adults, I found Dance 101 and immediately bought a package of classes. Whether you're looking to brush up on your rusty ballet basics or pick up some high-energy hip hop steps, you'll feel welcome and have a great time. The teachers are great at providing choreography that can be adapted to any skill/fitness level, and their love for dance is positively contagious! The studios are also very lovely and clean, with good acoustics and beautiful natural light.

Ballet has truly been a game-changer for me, and The Atlanta Dance Academy has played a huge role…read morein that transformation. I take the Adult Beginner Ballet and Barre classes. Kara Jacobson is a phenomenal instructor, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping each dancer grow. She creates such a welcoming and supportive environment, where I feel both safe and encouraged to push myself. Her focus on technique and alignment is just what I needed as someone starting later in life. Every class is challenging in the best way and leaves me feeling stronger, more graceful, and more confident. What I love most is how this space feels like a true community. The energy is positive, and the staff is friendly. Whether you're brand new to ballet or getting back into it, I can't recommend this studio enough. Coming here has been one of the best decisions I've made for my body and mind. I always leave feeling inspired!

I echo what the other reviewers with no dance experience have shared. If you have never danced…read morebefore this is NOT the place to learn. I called in advance and spoke to Sarah. I shared with her that I had no experience but was looking to learn in a fun environment. She recommended Mr.C's Beginners Ballet. I mentioned that I read the description and that the class was not a 101 class. She was friendly and encouraged me so I thought I would give it a shot. When I arrived I shared with the woman wearing glasses at the check in desk that this was my first time. She was short with me and I had to ask where to go until the class started. I came out before class started and mentioned it looked as though everyone had quite a bit of experience. The three women at the front including Sarah assured me that it would be uncomfortable but to give it a try. I even asked if Mr.C would yell and they all said no. I had and eerily similar experience to the other reviewers with no experience. I was berated throughout the entire class. Even while I cried Mr. C persisted on critiquing me. He moved my head and forced me to look at him. I also lost the will to continue when everyone had to dance across the room. As he was shouting that I had to do it I calmly said I had enough. I went to gather my thing and he thrust his hands at me and shouted, "NEVER COME BACK!" As I put my shoes on in the lobby not one of the three women said a word. I would not recommend TADA. My goal was to learn, not be humiliated. This is not ok for anyone. I have read the review responses on Mr.C's background and I don't think this serves as an excuse for rude and unprofessional behavior. Perhaps just be direct and let adult beginners know that this isn't the place to learn. What I did take away was a reminder that when you are an expert and someone is a novice to always be patient and encouraging. The world could use more patience and kindness.

Tl;dr Great energy but very repetitive routines. These Zumba classes weren't as exciting to me but…read moreyou may like them- they're easy to follow! Every instructor has their own style, so id heavily recommend to try a few classes first before committing! Z U M B A C L A S S E S I've attended Sat and Mon classes taught by LeSonya Letona. I love her energy and excitement! However she only has a select some 10-15 songs and recycles them. If you like very repetitive movements and easy dance moves, then shes a great Zumba instructor for you. She was too repetitive in my opinion. It's very easy to follow along with her. By the second time I went to her class, I could already remember/guess her moves. The evening classes usually have about 10-20 people per class. The morning classes often have 5-10 people per class. I like upbeat and personable instructors who encourage individual expression, and teach various dance moves. Although zumba has a lot of repetition, I want to be able to keep up while continuously learning some new moves/expression. A little challenge makes it a great workout! W A I T No need to come early. Just arrive 5 mins prior or on time to class! P R I C E I bought a 10 class Groupon here because I just moved here and wanted to look for Zumba classes to try out since bay club and 24hr fit isn't available near me. $10 walk in class $45 5 classes $60 10 classes $70 monthly unlimited For just the classes and the quality of classes, I think the price is definitely too steep. It's located near Costco! 2997 Cumberland Blvd Suite 230 Atlanta, GA 30339 B E C A R E F U L If you want to add your own little flair/expressions, make sure you stand in the back! Otherwise the manager will come up to you and tell you off. (Ie: When we are moving forwards, two steps to the left and two steps forward, the instructor doesn't move her hands, but I add my flair and do a pulling motion with my hands and arms as if I'm pulling myself forward. This is not ok!) ____ MY ENCOUNTER The manager told me it wasn't ok to change up the moves so I nicely apologized to her and then also approached LeSonya and apologized to her as i didn't want for her to think I was disrupting/being rude. LeSonya responded kindly and said she didn't think I was, but she didn't want the new people to be detered by any variation. So I just said I'd stand in the back. I don't want drama. I'm just here to enjoy the music and workout. I thought it was weird because they don't have to look at me..? We can watch whoever we want. Also, I was standing on the very side of front row. I wasn't making my own routine but only adding my own personality. I've never heard of this type of complaint in my few years of attending zumba classes at other facilities. Every instructor has their own style, so id heavily recommend to try a few classes first before committing! This place wasn't my cup of tea but it may be yours!!
