Clean, well maintained space with great floors for dancing…read more I take Oula Fitness here which is a super fun class. Fun, top 40 music (with some deep cuts), easy-to-learn but challenging-to-keep-doing moves, and a great work out. Instructors and other class members are friendly and personable and push you if you want to be push and leave you be if that's what you want too. Their slogan is "it's not about how it looks; it's about how it feels," - and it feels great! Online registration is easy and quick.

Compfit is my all-time favorite studio in the Seattle area. I love it because they have Oula…read moreclasses, which is the best dance fitness class ever, and the owner, Eric, is easy to work with. The studio itself is relatively small, as it's one mirrored room with a bathroom in the corner, but has enough space for 20+ people in one fitness class. They provide yoga mats, towels, hair ties, and a shelf to put your belongings in. There's a fun disco light that sometimes gets used in select dance fitness classes, and also warm twinkle mood lights for the more relaxing yoga classes. There's street parking, which is decently easy to find (I've gone here for almost 2 years and I've never not been able to find a spot within a 5 min walk). Now, for the classes they offer here. As mentioned above, Oula is the best. It's a 50-minute high-energy dance fitness cardio class that's full of fun and sexy moves choreographed to the latest pop hits. What I love most is how empowering the class is--it's mostly women (everyone is welcome though!) singing and dancing together to uplifting songs. I can always count on Oula to cheer me up on a bad day. P.S. if you do try Oula, I recommend booking at least your first class with Quincy, as she's especially good at getting you pumped while shouting out the moves to help you follow along. The studio also offers other classes, including Barre, Pop Pilates, Hoopnotica, Zumba, yoga (in the form of Oula One), and Mixxedfit. There's a wide range of classes for you to try, so you really can't go wrong here! I originally found Compfit through Groupon and got addicted REAL quick. I am now on the 6-month membership, which makes booking classes super easy. Takeaway: Compfit makes working out fun and easy through various group fitness classes. I highly recommend trying this studio out!

I can't say enough good things about VAM. The way that they make a wide range of dance styles…read moreaccessible to all ages and skill levels in the community is unsurpassed! I like it so much I drive down from Snohomish on a regular basis to take class. I've been taking tap at VAM from Mark for 5 years now. He is extremely welcoming, and one of the nicest human beings you will meet! As a more advanced adult tap dancer, it can be hard to find a studio that can continue to challenge you. And challenge me Mark does! I am humbled to be able to take class from someone who trained under the masters, and really is a master himself! His historical knowledge of tap dance is priceless and I love hearing his stories. All these years later, Mark will still pull out steps/patterns I've never seen before. No two classes are the same! And most importantly he makes class fun and is extremely skilled at "teaching to the room", making sure everyone present is being challenged at their level. Proof of all of this can be seen in the vast array of adults who come to take tap dance here - all ages and skill levels! In true "drop-in" format as well, which is very conducive to adult schedules (no feeling like you'll be behind because you missed the previous week). Veronica and the rest of the staff are super kind as well. I've always felt welcome walking in the door. Their annual showcases are also very fun to be a part of. If you are unsure, definitely give VAM a try! I'm willing to bet they have a class/level for you.

The studio floor appears to be sprung. However, the room is smaller than I would prefer for across the floor combinations. Overall a, lovely experience at a nice studio.

Love Suenos!!!…read more Atmosphere: I was a beginner and had no idea what to expect. Suenos is super welcoming and warm to new comers. Lessons experience: (Salsa) All the instructors (Mojan, Michael, & Kelly) were friendly and easy going. They were all excellent teachers - giving you pointers and allowing you to practice. They pointed out common mistakes so you can avoid and they gave you extra things you can add to your dance that was slightly above your level to push you. I've taken Level I and Level II - the structure is a warm up, then lesson led by the instructors and you dance switching partners every few minutes, and then at the end you get your phones out and film the instructors doing the steps of the day so you can practice the steps at home. Level I is basic and then Level II really steps it up - it seems many people retake Level II multiple times so they can practice more and there's different steps to learn each time since they mix it up. The lessons were reasonable - ~$80 for 4 lessons. If you do the membership, you can drop into many classes whenever you want. This is the most worth it if you plan on really dedicating yourself and coming here often. Dance Socials: They have socials for Salsa & Bachata on Wednesday nights. It's $5 if you're a student and $10 if you're not. I find that these socials are a great time to practice what you've learned. Everyone that comes out are super friendly and welcoming. I have not had a bad experience here. People of all levels come out and dance. It's OK if you are new - you just jump in and have a good time. If you're thinking of learning Bachata or Salsa, I highly recommend Suenos. I know there are many other studios out there but I think Suenos is the best! Oh one more thing, they teach Salsa On 2 (apparently other places teach On 1).
