Thank you ClassPass, otherwise I would've never found BaDi. What an amazing experience! I love the…read moreenergy the instructors and the other class members have. You leave feeling accomplished after a thorough workout while dancing to great songs. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came here. It was a bit confusing trying to find the studio. When you enter from street level, you have to go downstairs towards the Underground Dance Studio. You can either dance barefoot or with shoes (wish they could make a rule about which one because my feet always get dirty). The class starts off with some warm up dances and then moves through different types of styles of dancing with each song change. You get to express yourself however you want to. You don't have to do every single move the same way and they encourage movement around the floor. Thankfully there are a bunch of fans around the room because by the 3rd song I'm always sweating. There are no official breaks so step off the dance floor and get water as necessary. Class ends with some stretching and warm cloths with some sort of essential oil. I can't wait til the next class!

I figured I would just try this place out since it was quite close to my home and it had good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheerful and upbeat all the instructors are (I tried Zumba/Hiphop and More than Dance classes and probably have been in classes with 5 different instructors (depending on the day/time you choose to go). What I can say is that all the instructors are have their own styles but are definitely wonderful and will keep you happily dancing. What I particularly like about this place is the christmas lighting and the setting that makes you not feel so self-conscious about what you are doing wrong or how terrible of a dancer you may think you are. I admit that I'm not a naturally good dancer and I have a good time everytime I go there. There are, of course, some people there who can dance like rock stars and look really cool when they dance. However, the instructors there are very encouraging and provide guidance what you can do as a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancers, so you can really just do things at your own level and not care so much about others. It definitely feels liberating to just be able to dance your own style, at your own pace/level, and nobody is judging you on how you look or how weird you dance :). After the package ran out, I ended up signing up for more classes and still go there whenever I find some free time.

The teachers have been knowledgeable, friendly, unpretentious and encourage questions. I've taken adult ballet classes at two other Seattle dance schools which I've decided to stop attending because the experience at ADI just feels right compared to the others. I'd chalk it up to: 1) Convenient location with free parking. 2) Welcoming environment. I met the business owner from day one and she was very friendly. The instructors learn your name, which surprisingly isn't always the case. It makes a difference. 3) Instructors that are very engaged with dance and can explain the subtleties well. 4) Flexibility; the school lets you make up classes in either the Magnolia or Greenwood location. You get emails if you miss a class asking if you would like to make up. In other schools, asking for make ups has sometimes felt like pulling teeth, but they make it easy for you if life happens. Also, there are a couple of adult beginning ballet classes per week with hours that are doable for someone working 9-6.

My daughter has a great relationship with her instructor, Margaret, and everyone in the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. No matter what activities come and go for my daughter, she never wants to quit dancing and I know that is in part due to the welcoming environment at ADI. It's always great to see the big smile on my kids face when she finish a class!

I currently take Badi (a dance fitness style class) in this location and love the feel and vibe of the entire studio. With ample mirrors and twinkle lights for ambiance, the space feels sacred. Descending down the stairs upon entering by Sur 16, I become mentally and physically far away from the busy Seattle life overhead allowing me dance my troubles away and become lost in the music. The location is also off of 15th street in Capitol Holl, home to many wonderful shops and restaurants, giving you ample options for food with friends or a quick coffee break before or after your class.

I thought that the fun factor would cancel out feeling the burn, but dayam, this was work. I took the Egyptian-style belly dancing class, the first class in their 5-week series. My glutes. My hammies. Every muscle in my arm. Some muscle in my upper abs that apparently don't get used on a normal basis. They all moved...and I got into it. Our instructor was fantastic, making sure to accommodate those with injuries, explaining the muscles being stretched or used. She was hands-on, too, making adjustments to people's postures. $15 to drop in or $12 per class with the series via cash or check. Street parking. Reasons to buy fun costumes and props imminent.

Need help getting out of a workout slump? Studio 3 has been my go-to for years, and it never fails…read moreto get me back on track. The teachers here are amazing, they're not just there to coach, they actually jump in and work out with you, which makes the whole experience so much more motivating. This place has changed over time, but it still delivers a workout that's fun and keeps you coming back. I'm still mourning the loss of Blended (their smoothie and açaí shop), who doesn't love a post-workout treat that feels like a reward? Right now, that space looks like it's under construction, so I'm hoping they bring it back or create something just as great. They also moved the entrance further up the street, and the new self-check-in system makes things way smoother so no more awkward moments while someone looks for your name. As for the workouts, they've got spin, yoga, strength training, and Shred. Shred is like mat Pilates on steroids with free weights, resistance bands, and weighted balls. My favorites are yoga and Shred, both in infrared-heated rooms, so you'll definitely sweat it out. The vibe is on point with cool lighting and upbeat music that keeps you going (even through endless planks). Plus, their waiting area is surprisingly big and has a fun, modern feel. Parking? Super easy. There's free parking in the apartment complex this space is in, and if that's full, street parking is usually close by. Overall, Studio 3 still delivers, even with the changes. Now if only those smoothies would make a comeback.......fingers crossed for summer!
