The owners are visionaries who have taken an 1870's barn and renovated it into an upscale, environmentally conscious building with gorgeous stone work, massive fireplaces, and three floors, each with its own character. While everything is on a big scale, somehow the beauty enables intimacy and depth -- plus, the acoustics were great, which also made everything feel close and quiet. The location is not too far from Ithaca but it is set in a vast meadow and backs onto a state park, so it's quiet and lushly rural. Not only is the locale pretty, but the grounds are fantastic, with exquisite attention to every artistic detail. The plantings in the courtyard and terraces have a brightly colored, distinctive style that falls into a category of its own -- something like "a European garden with a tropical flare." Inside the barn, there are plants and artwork everywhere, in a quirky blend that somehow coheres into an experience of great beauty and delight. The building and grounds come together as a whole that radiates elegance. Although the effect is quite modern, the blend of old and new is really striking. They have thoughtfully left some rough touches that resonate nicely with the pervasive old wood and stone; for example, a massive beam that still sports an ancient birds nest. There is natural light everywhere. I was so enchanted that on the last evening I took about 30 photographs, because I didn't want to leave it all behind. Our presenter stayed overnight on the 3rd floor and was just as smitten. This was a really inviting place to do deep and thoughtful work; but it would serve equally well for a magical party space. I can't wait to return; and I suspect that each season has its particular pleasures there. (I am especially looking forward to a November workshop where I hope we can enjoy the radiant heat in the floors and a fire in one of the big stone fireplaces.)

All of the teachers are so knowledgeable about the body and alignment they and genuinely care. The pilates classes work miracles for back pain and other body aches and pains that start up after age 50. There is a variety of classes which is really nice depending on your mood and what you feel up to accomplishing physically. This is a top-notch studio and if you are looking to get stronger in a safe and productive way, this is it. Plus everyone is so nice. Five stars. Highly recommend.

This space is warm and welcoming and all the instructors have been wonderful while also being completely unique in their focus and delivery. I started January with the unlimited membership (which I highly recommend) so I've taken Facial Refresh, Core XIIT, Pilates (mat) and TRX classes. Each class and each instructor has something different to offer, and with the small class sizes you feel like a part of the community immediately. From week to week the instructors remember specific injuries (to recommend modifications), goals and other pieces that are so important to substantial growth in strength and stamina. The online system is very easy to use to sign up for classes and the cancellation policy is extremely fair. Being right in the heart of Fall Creek with ample parking, the commute there is never a problem. In addition, the class times are perfect for my schedule and they have so many various classes to offer, it's so much more than just Pilates! Finally, they even have online classes if you can't make it in-person on a specific day, which I have also used and found to be extremely beneficial. I really can't recommend Vellidan enough. As a mom of two young children, this was the reminder I needed that feeling strong doesn't need to mean high intensity workouts with guaranteed injuries. Pilates is highly focused core work that is low intensity with a laser focus on correct form rather than overexertion. In just one month I already feel stronger and can feel my balance and core strength improving significantly. Check in isn't until 4 pm which was a pain as we were tired from traveling and wanted to settle in. I wish that they would change it to 2 o'clock. Every thing was excellent after that. Max greeted us and made us feel right at home. When he realized that we were interested in the history of the building , he shared it with us. loved hearing about Harriet Tubman & the Underground Railroad. Loved that they had photos of the original owner Daniel D Miner in his military uniform. The history books of the area were enjoyable to read. Our room was very comfortable with a gas fireplace . The noise canceling machine was a nice touch as our room was right by the road . I'm a extremely light sleeper but I slept so soundly both nights. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about was the shared bathrooms. It was a inconvenience having to walk down the hall way in the middle of the night. If we had known that we would have stayed elsewhere, BUT I'm glad that we didn't know that as I loved the inn. The coffee in the main parlor was a nice touch & the breakfast I in the grand ball room was so nice . The young woman who made our French toast was a dear. I can't say enough about the staff. The Salt Point Brewery in the stable next door was great. Again, great staff, wonderful beer selection & good bar food all reasonable priced. We also highly recommend a trip up the road too Prison City Brewery which was fantastic. Cornell University and Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge up the road was great day trips. The original pub in the inn will be reopening this year so we look forward to returning.

They greet you with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and there is also a free bottle of wine in your room - it's sweet wine, but if you don't roll that way (like us) you can exchange it for something else - which does have a cost depending on the bottle, but was worth it for us. I was in the bridal party at a wedding here and was less than impressed. The day before, I watched her promise our bride that her staff would light candles, and set up a couple last minute decorations. Then when the other bridesmaids and I followed up she would say that's not my responsibility or decorations are not in my contract. I watched her promise the bride she would have chairs and a folding table brought over to her room for hair and make up the morning of the wedding but we never received them. I was with the bride when she clearly explained to the owner that she wanted the cake out for view during the entire event. It took me five reminders to get the owner to set up the table and linens for the cake. She didn't end up doing it until guests were arriving and the bakery was there, waiting. She's a lot of talk and not a lot of action, with a very fake personality. Her only saving grace is that the guest rooms we stayed in are very very clean, and have nice touches like fridges, card games, water, and snacks. All in all though she needs to work on her customer relations. If you don't want to offer a specific service that's fine, just don't promise it.

My experience with The Next Jennaration has been wonderful…read more I live ten hours away so viewing the recitals each year has been nothing short of perfection. The students so clearly love what they do, and work so hard. You can sense the feeling of togetherness from the audience and you can hear about how their teamwork, hard work and chemistry pay off with the many many awards, scholarships, choreography awards, appearances on live TV shows (Dance Moms, America's Got Talent, Live Streaming of the Battles) and many other awards that this group brings. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work the front desk for 6 months this year and I could not believe the family atmosphere that the studio has. The office manager (Miss Vonnie) is always ready to meet everyone with a smile and kind, helpful encounter. The owner (Miss Jenna) brings a passion and love for the studio that is second to none. You will find her in the studio 99% of the time with the dancers, and when she is able to come out to the lobby she comes out with an energy showing how much she loves the students and working with them. The teachers have mostly grown up in the studio (Miss Deja, Miss Jessie, Miss Katie, Miss Taylor) and became The Next Jennaration Family and give back to the younger dancers by transitioning their role from team member themselves, to teachers. Other primary instructors (Miss Maria, Miss Jodi) have been training students since the opening and bring the best energy and a technical knowledge that brings everyone to another level. Miss Jodi even trained Miss Jenna when she was younger! :) The students have so much fun with dance and the social interactions that the studio brings. The students work so hard every time they get the chance to be in the studio. Outside of the studio, they are doing fun things to better themselves and the world. You can witness the way that these students are thinking about bettering the world by watching the team groups finding ways to give back to the community in their free time or competing in competitions that are solely fundraisers for causes in need. It shows the way these values are passed down from the owner and teachers, to the teams. I have had…read morethe opportunity to be a part of this dance family for the past 16 years, and can't help but keep coming back! I started dancing with Miss Jenna was I was six years old at summer dance camp, in 2005! I still remember that first day of that camp when I met Miss Jenna and the other dancers, I knew I found my forever dance family. As of four years ago, I was given the opportunity from Miss Jenna pursue my summer internships at the dance studio. This is something common you will find at TNJ, as the staff consists of alumni, like myself, that have so much love and admiration for Miss Jenna, other staff members, and the current dancers. To be able to show our passion for dance, that was first founded at the same studio, to the current dancers is one of the greatest opportunities I have experienced here. When you step through the door you are always welcomed with the most warm and energetic presence from Miss Jenna, the staff, and of course your dance friends. The atmosphere in the studio is something so incredibly special. The level of energy, positivity, and appreciation from one another is so strong you can not help but feel loved when you leave your dance class. I feel this is due to the family-like emphasis Miss Jenna has for all of her dancers. I have created some of the strongest and longest friendships with the dancers I have made at the studio, which I am forever grateful for! Beyond the love we all have for each other, the level of dance training is incomparable to anything I have seen anywhere else. Miss Jenna pours her heart and soul into the quality of training she offers, making sure it is only the best for every dancer in the studio. If you have ever been to a TNJ recital or performance, you know this to be true. Miss Jenna's genuine passion and love for dance is directly absorbed and transferred to the students in their own dancing, it is truly amazing to see. One extremely special aspect of TNJ that many do not initially see, are the life lessons that are adapted by every dancer. The understanding and appreciation of being a part of a team/group is one of the many life skills I feel I have learned in my time here and continue to use and experience in life. As well, commitment not only to yourself, but others around you, is something very unique that we all feel towards each other from the very first time dancing together. This is why I know being a part of the TNJ family has been one of the most incredible opportunities I have ever had. The owners were incredibly kind and knowledgeable about local culture, culinary offerings, and sightseeing. They provided excellent recommendations for local cider and navigating the nearby gorge in Buttermilk Falls State Park. The breakfast bar was charming and featured local Ithaca favorites, like granola from Wide Awake bakery, coffee from Oak and Crow, Ithaca Milk yogurt, and local NYS honey and maple syrup. The room was beautiful, featuring a giant glass window to watch migratory birds and other wildlife. The decor was modern, yet the room had a vintage feel. The entire property was elegant with a retro touch. We loved all the outdoor seating, as well as the outdoor fire pits. We look forward to staying again on our next trip to Ithaca!
