A new and growing woman-owned pilates and yoga studio. Excellent, highly trained staff and an ever-expanding class offering.

FLX is a refreshing addition to the fitness scene in Ithaca! This "boutique gym" is unique because…read moreit's group fitness classes only, namely mostly Les Mills brand classes. If you're the type of person that needs accountability to work out, you need to try group fitness classes! FLX offers Les Mills' take on spinning, step, mixed martial arts, weight lifting, tai chi/Pilates fusion etc. Pros: -no enrollment fees! -reserve your spot in class using the Zen app, no more rushing to get a spot only to be disappointed -state of the art bikes, weights etc -an unlimited class pass/pay per class/or class bundle options -clean facilities that are designed for fitness (rubber floors reduce impact on joints, enough mirrors so everyone can check their form) -easy, free parking!!!! -temperature controlled with actual adequate AC and oscillating fans so you're not over heated or over cooled (love this!!!) -instructors that are passionate, friendly and varied in their styles, some will be peppy, competitive, strict all in the best way to motivate you! Everyone is more than willing to help you with any questions etc -positive environment for all ages, genders, fitness levels! Cons: -no showers but there are changing rooms Readers Digest Version: FLX is a must to try! The classes and your classmates will keep you coming back and stay motivated towards achieving your goal. Female and locally owned, there's so much to love! Give this place a try with their $15 pass for 3 classes!

I never thought I'd be "that person". You know the kind, she works out every day and she actually…read morelikes it. But here I am, Ms. Ruthy coming in 7 days a week, not to brag , but sometimes I'm working out even twice a day!! Cuz I love it that much. Look I only have good things to say about FLX Fitclub. The instructors are so friendly, enthusiastic and very helpful. Everyone I have met in the classes have been so kind and welcoming. The gym itself is always really clean, organized and everything is wiped down after it has been used. So far I haven't taken a class that I didn't like. I feel like there are a lot of different options, depending on what your looking for. I really enjoy their cycling classes. Body pump is a must. I've felt comfortable enough to try things that I have never tried before like Barre, it was definitely harder then it looks. Then Sh'Bam was something I'd never thought I'd like and It is SO much fun. The class goes by so quickly. I love the Bodyflow and core classes on Fridays. It's a Great workout to do back to back, You feel very zen and sweaty. I have yet to try BodyCombat, BodyAttack and Grit. Not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous, but I'll report back and let you know what I think. Look...if you're looking for a clean gym with an array of great classes, amazing instructors and a fun crew of people to work out with. FLX is for you. Just come and take the 3 classes, to try it out. I bet you'll love it! Anyways thank you FLX family for starting me on my journey to getting healthy!

Teagle is by far the best Fitness Center at Cornell. It is conveniently located, has a swimming…read morepool and has two floors creating a great cultural split for working out. The top floor is dedicated to machines (cardio and isolation resistance training) and the bottom floor is dedicated to Olympic lifts, free weights, and bar weights. So naturally the top floor is friendly for people of all body types; people don't have to worry about being intimidated, judged, or having to deal with meat-head behavior (like excessive grunting). The bottom floor is where the intense (potentially aspiring) muscle men and women go, and they don't have to be bothered by people who are less intense about excercise than them. The gym does get crowded, but far less than Noyes or Helen Newman. I have never had to wait for a treadmill longer than 1 hour here. Most of the time you can sign up for a spot within 30 minutes of your arrival, so you can comfortably do a little resistance training before your cardio workout without waiting endlessly afterwards (like you have to at Noyes).

This is the largest athletic building on campus for non athletes. There is a pretty nice swimming…read morepool, a room that holds yoga and other classes, a free weight gym and a cardio / weight training equipment room. Teagle is conveniently located on campus, so students and staff can go better classes or right after class. The only negative of the building is the locker rooms. They are pretty outdated and several of the toilets and sinks are in pretty bad shape. The locker rooms could use a renovation. As far as the workout facilities though, there is a large range of equipment and plenty of space.
