First time staying at Candlewood Suite Horseheads with my partner and some friends. We all stayed…read morein the same style room: a King Bed Studio with a kitchen. The room was very clean and well-equipped, featuring a flat-screen TV, a closet & large drawers. The kitchen had everything we needed, including an electric stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, full-sized refrigerator, and all necessary cups, plates, pots, cooking & eating utensils The bathroom was stocked with hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner (which was nice since some hotels use 2- or 3-in-1 cleansing products). There was also a hair dryer, laundry basket, iron & ironing board. The hotel also had a gym and a laundry room with complimentary washers and dryers. Additionally, there was a room offering complimentary coffee and tea, as well as snacks and other amenities for purchase. The only major downside was the odor. Both my room and my friend's room had a terrible smell. We couldn't pinpoint the source, & after a while, our nose adjusted to it. It would have been an issue had we stayed longer. If that had been the case, we would have definitely asked the front desk to address it or purchase air fresheners from the nearby Walmart (which, by the way, is huge). On a side note, Candlewood does not have electric car charging stations, but the hotel next door does offer free charging. However, be sure to ask before using it, and don't leave your car charging for too long, as they might tow it if you're not a guest at their hotel. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

The first thing you notice is that this is a huge brew house. We thought it was closed because there's a sit-down area in the front before you get to the back where the bar is and the bartender was. It's a converted house. We sat by the bar. Since we were a tad bit hungry, we shared some potato skins which hit the spot. Unlike your typical potato skins, these were thick but fried just right so the potatoes were cooked all the way through, the cheese was melted, and the bacon was crisp. Kind of like a deep dish version of potato skins. I always appreciate a solid beer list and as a brew house, Carey's had just that. They even had my favorite beer, Delirium, which I couldn't help but get to go. Service was solid.

When we came in the room was very nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. The server was wearing blue jeans and a tea shirt with writing on it which I've never seen at any tea. The tea choices, teapot and brand of tea were all superb!! When they brought out the 3 tiered tray, I was terribly disappointed. I have NEVER seen any mini tea sandwich served on a slider hamburger bun! NEVER! All high tears have freshly baked scones with lemon curd and clotted cream. There was NONE. The baked goods were extremely dry. There was a "biscuit" that must have been missing an ingredient as it was bigger and 2x the thickness of a hockey puck. Extremely dry and inedible. Choking down 1 bite was all I could do. Other items like the fudge came directly from the local grocery store. This was just wrong.
