Something needs to be done with the outlets in the middle of the mall I have had an issue with the ones that sell lotions that have the nerve to walk up to people as myself and think its ok to grab our hands to sample thete lotion you don't ever think its ok to just touch anyone with out asking when I see them I have to walk fast by or go around them I have reported them but nothings been done. I love this mall. They have a carousel and it's double decker!! The food court is awesome, they have added in a cheese cake factory recently which is like too good! Tons of stores are there like llbean, lush, they even have an Ulta now. The Ulta even has a full service hair salon! If this mall was closer I would definitely be there more. The stamford mall can not even compare. The set up is also a lot better. It is easy to find anything that you are looking for. read more

Wow, are you guys shitting me? The Danbury Fair Mall is one of those little slices of hell on earth. Granted, it's largely because of the huge, clueless crowds that roam it, but I would still rather go to almost any other mall. First, who invented the parking system used here? It seems designed to maximize the probability of a car accident by forcing you back out into traffic at the end of each row. The parking lot also has all these weird disjointed mini-lots. Where the hell am I? Second, why are all of these morons here in the mall? And why are they walking six in a row, swinging huge bags, so no one can move around them? Why is this guy stopping in his tracks right in front of me? Seriously, people, figure out where you need to go and then progress there in a timely fashion, preferably single file. Third, like many malls, this one is laid out to force you to cover as much ground as possible to get to your destination. I guess that's in case you decide to impulse shop at one of the bizarre retailers dotting this mall, such as the gold buyers or the shoe repair guy. I went to this mall today to do my whole Christmas shopping, but I noticed it didn't have any Christmas decoration upstairs. I walked the whole mall and went to another mall where they didn't leave Christ out of Christmas. I'm not coming back... My family and friends are definitely not your target customers. read more

This mall looks very appealing from the outside, and I've got to say that it doesn't disappoint on the inside. It's very clean, the stores are laid out nicely, and the mall seems more classy than others. With that being said, this mall sports the usual stores with some higher end shops. As others have stated, there is no Best Buy and stores similar to it, but I don't really expect every mall I go to to be accompanied by stores like this, so I wouldn't dock a star for that. Out of the times I have been here it has never been crazy packed, which is great. Lots of walking room and space to sit and rest if needed. They have some restaurants attached, which seem to be very popular. Despite the full parking lot, we haven't had that much trouble finding a space. Anyway, overall good mall for the basics. Clean, pretty quiet and cool, and provides for a stress-free shopping experience. read more

As far as malls go, this one is awesome for me. Some places here have been reviewed by Zagat, I believe there's a Red Robin here (a vestige of my old life), I found what I was looking for here & even got a really good parking space when I came it. It's something you'll have to know how to find but they have a mix of pricey & cheaper retailers. A perfect balance between affluence & common folk. I'm very disappointed with management of this mall,I had an incident where I had fallen down the stairs due to wet conditions and I hurt my back,neck and completely shattered my phone. I had emailed management and contacted them on Twitter about this and I haven't gotten a response. What would have happened if this was an older person who had fallen,there was nobody to assist and no wet floor signs up,the floors are super slippery and they need to do something about that. Oh my golly. Although prior to todays visit, my visits here had been seen going "downhill" steadily, todays' visit showed me that things seemed to change for the better. It's "growing up" and grabbing "more hip" stores. There's an Apple store, a Windows Store, and there's even a Red Robin here. Look around. You'll find a bunch of different stores to meet and exceed your needs. And because this mall is two stories, this sure makes your visits something to be for everyone who comes. I actually enjoyed my visit here today. If it wouldn't be for the distance from my hometown, I'd see about coming here more often. The only thing I wasn't able to ride, was the Carousel in the food court for economic reasons. What I only later took note, was the length of time it rode for the price the person would have paid. The ride looked quite lengthy, however, it wasn't lengthy enough to suit my pocket, and so I ended up getting an ice cream from McDonalds instead. Maps of this place weren't readily available. Things were quite confusing, moving abruptly through this mall; it's some almost square E shaped mall that, from the looks of things one area looked the same as another, which made for one interesting visit that surely confused me. Stop by the wishing well on the one floor. Although the wishing well really doesn't do too much, the water here is very relaxing, and many people seem to have often been found waiting here reading and searching on computers and the like. Although I was unable to use the free Wi-Fi near the Windows Store, I do like to see such booths made available for others to use. Keep it up! I thought the ferris wheel and carnival rides were quite an interesting touch to see outside at the entrance. The only drawback to this mall is the location of the entrance to the parking garage. If you come in through the carnival area, it's not "right there". It's almost on the other side of the mall: a place that most visitors enter into, yet no parking garage seen for that moment? I almost didn't believe my brother, who had been there in the last year and had told me there was the garage. More signage is needed from that entrance to the mall-loop road. read more

Parking options are great but I I've never visited on the weekend. I would imagine it gets pretty crowded. The food court is what you'd expect for a mall food court. A decent, well-heeled CT mall. I hate malls, but this wasn't so bad. Came here on Black Friday and left my wallet at home. My partner and I had some cabin fever after being at his parents' for four days and decided to do some people-watching. Despite it being one of the biggest retail days of the year, the other shoppers were calm, relaxed, and well-behaved. No doorbuster deals or fistfights over flatscreen TVs in sight. They have all the usual suspects, Abercrombie (can't believe they're still around), a small and slightly underwhelming Anthropologie, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Arhaus Furniture. Thank God I left my credit cards at home because I could have done some serious damage there! Yeah, like I said, I typically hate malls. But overall, this one is tolerable if you need to go shopping in the area. I'll stick to small businesses and the Internet, though. read more

This mall is very clean and rather upper scale, I was here while traveling with friends and while the mall has a decent selection of stores, I do wish there was more "average Joe" stores in the area, but I would definitely shop here again either way. read more

I'm not exactly a mall rat, but I do enjoy this place. Great selection of stores for those of us who don't make millions (Macys and Lord and Taylor over Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus) -- and the fact that they've expanded and now have Petco, Pier 1, Whole Foods, etc. on their grounds is amazing. You can get a lot done here in one day! I haven't eaten in any of the restaurants so I can't comment on those, but I find this mall to be low-pressure compared to some other surrounding ones. read more

It's funny, for how much I complain about physically going to the mall, or the thought of needing to go, I never typically have a bad time. Yeah sure it can be loud and yeah sure it can get extremely packed during the holidays, but I also feel that sense of accomplishment when I come here and actually find what I'm looking for. Being a Danbury native, I've seen the Danbury Fair Mall change significantly over the years and even though I wasn't a fan of the "upscale" renovations they made, I can totally attest to being used to them now. I'll start with the food court, just because 1. this is Yelp, and 2. I love food. Plenty of variety from fast food to Japanese cuisine. Hell, they're even putting in a Mima's Meatballs (local Danbury restaurant on Mill Plain Rd) where the Arby's used to be, so they even cater towards local restaurants. I try to avoid McDonalds like the plague, same with Subway, so if I do decide to eat at the mall it's usually either Chick-Fil-A or Charley's. Both are fantastic and the staff at both are pretty friendly. With the amount of stores Danbury Fair has to offer, there's a pretty high chance you'll find something that you were looking for. There's a plethora of clothing stores that cater to all audiences, multiple jewelry stores, video game stores, shoe stores, I can go on all day. Seriously. Danbury Fair also rents out kiosks to small businesses to sell their products without the hassle of owning a storefront. I know multiple people that have jump-started businesses at those kiosks and they do very well for the surface area provided. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. Also, it's always been super clean when I'm there, which is a huge plus in my book. The parking garage is fairly large and houses more than enough spaces for customers (maybe not towards the holidays though). I've never had an issue finding a spot and regardless of what floor you park on, there's still some way to enter the food court area, whether you walk straight in, or use the stairs to get to the proper floor. My only gripe about the parking garage is that the stairwell always reeks of grossness. I typically don't use it often, but when I do, there's always some sort of stank. Bleh. But the mall is the mall. It's what you expect when you visit, whether you're shopping, eating, or just walking around. Convenience at its finest. read more

You know a Mall is the real deal when they've got an Apple store! I love this place. It's easy for us northerners to get to and it has all the stores you'd want without all the crazy crowds. The food court is a little sparse, and there's not too many real restaurants in this mall. It is a very kid friendly mall, with bungee trampolines and a gorgeous carorsel. Not actually attached to the mall are other stores on that stripe, so pretty much whatever you could be looking for is nearby, Barnes and Nobles, Toys R us and Red Lobster to name a few! During the summer there appears to be a real fair (thus Danbury FAIR mall) thats open in the lot, that seems like a lot of fun for the kids as well. read more

What a wonderful surprise my family happened upon! We came by just to pick up a quick meal at the food court (my brother was begging for Panda Express) and were a little hesitant at first because of all the construction going on. As soon as we walked in all our fears disappeared. I am used to quality malls (which northern Virginia does not possess) and have been missing the malls of my youth in FL. Being from Southern California automatically makes you a mall snob (look up Westfield if you don't understand why), so I'm not easily impressed by most shopping centers. I used to come here often when I still lived in New York and the Danbury Fair Mall has received a serious facelift. The large spaces are well maintained and clean. Unfortunately, this is merely an aesthetic facelift. The store selection is still very basic, with lower end department stores at all the ends. The food court is small for the size of the center itself, though there's a carousel if you have kids. With that said, you could maybe kill an hour/hour and a half of time here tops. The parking outside is ample, though hardly organized. Far too many small, disconnected, parking lots scattered throughout the exterior of the center. A huge improvement over the old Danbury Fair Mall, but not enough to make it a premiere shopping center. read more

There are some wonderful shops including Janie and Jack, Hanna Anderson, GAP, and Primark. The mall is usually clean, and the food court is decent. There's also a terrific antique two-level carousel for children to enjoy. Parking during the weekends can be a nightmare! I like Macy's, but that department store is nearly impossible to shop, especially with a stroller or a mobility aid for a disabled person. There is no walkway, and clothing racks are pushed together, becoming hazardous. Lord and Taylor is small and lacks a children's section, which is a shame. Sadly, there is no Nordstrom! An eBar would be fantastic! If you have a child, there are two free play areas, one is upstairs, and the other is downstairs. Unfortunately, many parents don't watch their bullying children. One rule that should be made is that no outside toys should be brought into the play areas. Young don't understand that they are not part of the play equipment, and the issue of sharing can be problematic. One young boy found a rubber ball, about the size of a baseball that another child had forgotten. He carelessly threw it around, nearly hitting a newborn baby on the head. There is a safer play area that is better monitored in the lower level, but you have to pay an admission fee. One major obstacle that I have to contend with when shopping in the lower level are some pushy kiosk workers, specifically the hair straightener/curler kiosk, where a female employee with long red hair will harass shoppers in order to sell a product. She blocked my path and rudely interrupted a conversation that I was having with my young son, and another time I faked a phone call, and she still tried to interrupt the "talk." For this reason, I no longer utilize the lovely glass elevators in the middle of the mall. No shopper should be harassed! Overall a fine mall but could be better with stroller/disability accessible stores, non-harassing kiosk workers, safer better monitored free play areas, and perhaps a Nordstrom with an e-Bar, but that last request is too greedy. read more

Every so often, the owners of the Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall try to convince the locals that the Galleria needs to expand in order to compete with the Danbury Fair Mall. That's kind of amusing; there's no way they could throw enough money into the Galleria to compete. The stores in this mall, and the general layout and atmosphere are quite a bit nicer than anything else in the immediate vicinity at least to the north and west. This is the closest mall to me for certain higher-end stores. The food court is a bit more interesting too. One thing I do miss is the Warner Brothers store they had here for many years. It definitely gets crazy trying to drive and shop here on weekends and holidays. Don't even bother trying to find a parking spot if you get in too late on a Saturday. read more

Being originally from New Jersey I know malls. This is a very nice mall. The stores all look good and there is a good customer base. It has it's low end stops as well as high end luxury stores. It also possesses some good anchor shops like Sears and Dick's. Not bad at all. read more

I had visited this mall for at least 20 years. Always great prices. The building itself is a great architectural design. Free parking. Spacious to walk around and also a great food court. My favorite spot is the one by Starbucks little tables with chairs to relax. The mall is always clean and organized and secure. Highly recommended for families and non family visitors. read more

Whole Foods is opening on May 17 across the street so, I can eat before I go to the mall :) They even have an app which is far surpassed my expectations. We all know this form of retail selling is past its expiration date. The people here at this Mall do try to make it a pleasant experience , the food court has a very nice reasonable selection , the shops are not just directed to a bunch of rich arrogant snotty SOBs , it works esp. well for people with little kids , the surroundings are not stressful-- but the millennials and the new totally iPhony generation really just aren't into the concept. I have a suggestion : turn this place into a big self contained assisted living BabyBoomer World. Housing, medical clinic, doctors offices, restaurants, little shops with beaded entryways catering to old people selling incense , bongs, orthopedic Beatle boots, whole grains in barrels, organic granola by the shovelful, Granny gowns and Bell bottom pants. Play Grateful Dead albums like Muzak through the public address system all day long. Put up some floor to ceiling lava lamps to gaze at for hours on end. All in one place. Free up lots of local housing...oversupply then...reduced prices ,then the millennials can afford a house. Problems solved. It would turn a retail dinosaur into a Social Good. Just like all the Boomers thought they were going to do in the 60s before they became hedge fund managers. Let's make their declining years FUN FUN FUN!!! Spacious and Standard - Danbury Mall has all the expected stores and anchors. Certain "guilty pleasure" stores are missing. No Best Buy or music / entertainment store of any kind - sadly sign of the times. No Barnes and Noble store to relax and read with a coffee. Spacious food court with additional restaurants (Cheesecake Factory / Brio Tuscan Grill) Not fine dining which shouldn't be expected at any mall. In the 11 years I have been in the Danbury area, this mall has only gotten better. It is making smart choices as to what stores to add, and you see them sticking around. Initially I was upset that H&M left, but Primark is a great replacement. The mall provides a great mix of affordable to high end stores so there is something for everyone. There is ample parking and the inside is well lit and clean. This location is amazing as well, as there are plazas around it that afford you to get all your shopping done in the same vicinity. I can go to the mall then the next plaza over go to Christmas Tree Shop and Toys R Us, and go to the newest plaza to go to Carters, Petco and Whole Foods. This mall is surely rivaling West Farms, if only they got Nordstroms! read more

This review applies to my experience on Saturday, October 4th at 7:15 PM. Was in the mall's food court last night (Sat., 10/4 around 7:15 PM). Went to use the men's restroom near McDonald's. I was absolutely disgusted in the shape of the main restroom for the mall on a busy evening. There was ZERO soap at any of the 5-6 sinks, 1 out of 3 paper towel dispensers had any paper, and the stalls all had tons of waste in them due to the automatic flush not working. Also, out of the 4 stalls, there was only toilet paper in the handicap stall. Just because it's a weekend night does NOT excuse regular maintenance at such a major mall. Also, no soap in the main restroom near where people are going to eat is horrible. read more

This mall is what the Poughkeepsie Galleria should strive to become. A friendly, open and inviting facility with plenty of fantastic store and food options inside and around. It's an easy shot down 84 and just over the border in Connecticut. Worth a trip for better overall quality shopping experience. I am not a fan of two story malls but this is the only one around so there really is no other mall close by. The have been upgrading and adding for the past couple of years and it is great to see new stores and restaurants. Love the addition of the Cheescake Factory and Brio, as well as Dick's Sporting Goods (which is way nicer than the Sports Authority). It is hard to go upstairs/downstairs in some portions so that is a pain. They also lack a couple of stores that I love, namely Nordstroms and Crate/Barrel....... The food court is average! read more

Came here shopping this past Black Friday with the family. We come to this mall due to its relative proximity to my parents' house while being far enough away from NYC to avoid its crowds and traffic. While most malls are either mostly low-middle end stores or middle-high end stores, the Danbury Fair Mall has a broad range of stores that span all price points, from low-end discount and bargain stores to high end boutiques and brand name labels. Expect to see familiar mall standards (Gap, Abercrombie, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret) alongside less frequent outlets (Michael Kors, Esprit, Cache), and trendy favorites (J. Crew, H&M). Plus, there's lots of free parking, always a plus. More malls should be built and organized like this one.
