We went here for PYO flowers and we loved it! It's $25/jar and you fill it up with as many flowers as you want. This is such. Cool and fun activity. The flowers here are BEAUTIFUL. They also sell snacks like cider donuts at the farm stand. read more

We spent a lovely afternoon picking apples and flowers out at Dame Farm. It's not too late for a few more days this season and the flowers were half off to cut. I bought a huge mum for $8.95 and picked a large bag of gala apples for $30. I had a great day and am already looking forward to next year! read more

UPDATE: wow I bought these decorative pumpkins a couple mo TJs ago with my friends. I purchased because they were cute decorations for my kitchen table. Not gonna lie- also purchased for some Instagram photos. Months later I have been WAITING AND WAITING for these pumpkins to start rotting or going bad. I was planning on using the insides as guinea pig snacks and using whatever went bad for compost. It's now early December and my Christmas decor has been up for mo TJs so it's time for these bad boys to go and I only found ONE TINY BAD SPOT! I decided to cut inside and they were still PERFECT! I am still SHOOK! My Guinea pigs can't eat that much pumpkin and I saw the seeds and fruit were in top top shape so now I will spend my day making pumpkin soup and roasting the seeds. I am baffled at the quality of these pumpkins and will return every year from now on! read more

We went back to pick apples and had a great time! The apples were completely fresh and delicious. They were more expensive than other orchards in the area but not outrageous at $20 per peck. The mums were definitely the star! At $7 or $7.50 each, they are a fantastic deal and are absolutely beautiful! We'll be back! This place deserves a five star any time of year. The owner is lovely, overly staffed during the pandemic to accommodate needs. I've visited for blueberry picking, sunflower picking, picking some beautiful gourds and of course pumpkin picking of all sizes!! I have been Blueberry picking four times this year and if I lived closer and if they opened on Sundays which I don't fault them for that " chic fil a " does it so why not! Four of us went here to see the sunflowers and take a picture. There was absolutely no one there and as we were walking in a young lady yelled for us to sign in. We made our way to the table and we were told that we had to pay $10.00 a piece to take a picture or pay $25.00 for a mason jar for flowers. We were taking a botanical tour with our clients from a group home. This was our theme for the day. It was a bit disappointing to not be allowed to take a photo without spending $40.00. Great little family farm! Visited on a Sunday morning around 10:30AM, and while there were a lot of people around it wasn't overly crowded. It was nice not to have to make a reservation like some of the other surrounding farms. They have a pick-your-own flower field (which we didn't have time to do) but I thought that was a nice touch you don't often see. I was a little disappointed in the overall variety of apples to pick (I could only find Red Cortland and Macintosh) and the price per bag was a little expensive. What a neat place. There was plenty of parking in the grass parking lot that has spaces painted to make it clear where to park and keeps most people parking in an orderly fashion. It is free to park but there is a cost to walk anywhere beyond where the shop is. We paid $6/person and went down the hill and did the corn maze. It was a lot of fun. You are given a business card size ticket that allows you entrance. There are four stations somewhere in the maze that you can find and punch the card. If you find all the stations and punch your card you can present it at the entrance and get candy. There is a small shop at the top of the hill also. The staff was very friendly and helpful I would recommend this for anyone wanting a good corn maze and some exercise. read more

We went this past July for the pick-your-own sunflowers and had a most lovely time! Entrance to the flower field was $5, just like the pick your own tulip flower field across the street in May. Each stem here was $1 as well, which is comparable . We also choose to pick apples in early September here - they have a nicely sized orchard, and they Honeycrisp apples are delicious. I feel like there's something to do all spring/summer/fall at Dame. It's beautiful, great for photographs, and they have an adorable little farm shop. read more

I am a huge proponent of local farms and patron them regularly. Last year I visited Dame and wasn't terribly impressed by the produce. Much of it looked as though it had been off the vine too long. But I selected some corn then headed to the register. I was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the bible verses on the dry erase board. So when you shop at Dame, your produce comes with a side of church. Last week, I decided that perhaps their new location (across the street) might be religion free. I was impressed by their gourds and squash then worked my way into the greenhouse store. I scanned the produce, nice looking apples and tomatoes then my eyes were drawn to a yellow sign posted immediately inside the door. It was a tea-bagger sign with the revolutionary disjointed snaked and the phrase "don't tread on me!" I prefer my fruits and veggies not come with a side of politics or religion. I will not be returning. read more

I love the idea of apple picking, pick your own pumpkins, and corn mazes in the fall. Dame Orchard has all of this, so I have to give them this; however, each element is a little on the shabby side. The apple orchard is a mish mash of types of apples, and while some of the trees are labelled, I couldn't figure out their system, so when I got home I found that I had a lot of apples that were not what I thought they were going to be. The pumpkin patch was just sad. A flat dusty field with a sprinkling of pumpkins to pick from. I would definitely suggest just going over to the farm stand and picking a pumpkin for the freshly cleaned and artistically arranged assortment. The corn maze was also disappointing in that it was not kept up well. The corn was very dry and trampled throughout the maze. It was definitely a challenge to solve, which I love, but I didn't like the condition of the maze. Overall, I love what Dame Orchard has to offer in terms of variety, I just wish that each element was taken care of. Sometimes more is not better. read more

Horrible customer service the girl at the register had a nasty attitude. Didn't let us walk around the farm because it was a "hazard" to be near the lake but yet they had a 5 YEAR OLD driving a tractor near us. That was for sure the hazard. Rather go to Confreda Greenhouses & Farm where I won't be given attitude, it's FREE, and won't be scared for my life because 5 year olds are driving tractors near me. read more

Super cute family friendly farm. The blueberry picking was amazing, we got about 3 quarts for $16. There are so many bushes and barely any bugs. They are all fresh, we used them to make blueberry pancakes, muffins, bread pudding and smoothies! Yummy! They also have apples, pumpkins, squash, flowers and sunflowers. They sell veggies and donuts and drinks inside the little shop, prices are reasonable. Donuts are ok. Had a really great time, they provide clippers for the sunflowers and everything is just great! PYO Apple Time! Half of what I love so much about Dame Farm is how close it is to Providence while being a fresh escape. They're cool with you peacefully wandering the grounds to check out what else is growing. The little produce market is adorable, sending me merrily home with more than apples. Apples, apples and more apples!!!!! What a great place to literally go and grab your own apples. There were so many varieties to choose from you are sure to find your favorite. The trees were well taken care of and there was no shortage of low hanging fruit for the little ones to pick. We were in the orchard for only 20 minutes and we had 2 huge bags of apples to take home for our apple sauce. Other then apples you can pick up some pretty mums and buy your local honey. There were corn mazes and hay rides available though we are saving those for the next visit. The pumpkin patch is just like the others in RI, very little to write home about. I have visited Dame Farm in the past for blueberries as well and find the staff to be some of the friendliest people in RI. Happy picking! read more

What a wonderful morning! Parking was plenty! Staff educated "apple pickers" about prices and how the orchard was divided. I was quite impressed with the variety of apples. The orchard was well maintained-and the apples were in excellent condition. There was the opportunity to visit the maze, purchase mums, pick a pumpkin, and take a wagon ride-everything was very well laid out. Staff was very helpful. The whole orchard was well organized. This was the first time I'd tried a cider donut- this was the only disappointment. We will definitely spread the word and revisit next year. Thank you Dame Farm. read more

I'm surprised with the negative reviews on this place. Have gone to this farm a number of times now and always had a positive experience. Blueberry picking in the summer is great here and prices are reasonable. Have also bought produce and mums and quality has always been great. Visited Dame Farm the other day to pick apples. First let me say that the farm is beautiful and the apples are great. But the service was lack luster and borderline insulting. I was taken back when the rather rude lady informed us "no throwing apples or climbing trees..." I'm 40. I think that ship sailed. Upon returning from picking my partner went to pick out some corn and was rudely pointed towards the RIGHT bags to use.....it was just odd. I have been to the farm previously and experienced her "chilly hospitality" before, chalked it up to her having a bad day...guess not. She's just like that everyday. I don't think I could be so unhappy in such a beautiful setting. But overall, if you can get past the chilly reception...the farm is great. read more

I was there 2 weeks ago to check things out and bought some apple cider donuts. 1 dozen is 12.95$ that's just outrages. Apple prices are very steep as well. I also overheard a conversation between the owners saying how great Texas is , the taxes are low and Health care is so much better. So I turned and asked them to check out the real facts and Texas has the highest uninsured people and the poorest in the nation with slave wages. I read some of the reviews here and I agree with Ron W as well. What gets me are the absurd high prices on everything. So we took our large family to a more friendlier and reasonable place where our grands had fun! read more

My fave poultry farmer (Baffoni in Johnston, RI) sent me over to Dame Farms for some vegetables that he himself didn't grow. I'm glad he told me b/c I probably would have never found it even though it is less than 10 minutes away from Baffoni's since it's kind of an "over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house you go" area. Seriously, after driving slowly down the windy road, smelling the clean air, listening to birds chirping, taking note of all the massive tree roots with road reflectors on them so some drunk vegetable seeker doesn't hit them, by the time I made it to the sign indicating that the farm was just a little bit more up the road, I really was expecting grandma (or Hansel and Gretel or Little Red Riding Hood. You get the point). I still didn't find the exact vegetable I was looking for, but I did see rolling fields of corn, pumpkins, fruit trees, a bunch of hippies, and handwritten signs warning kids to stop pinching the fruit (b/c they might pinch back?). So, I ended up picking up a Powder Mill cider donut and some gorgeous fruits and veggies and begrudgingly took my leave of ye old pretty bucolic farm stand. I'll be back, what a great hidden away spot to pick up some tasty things that grow here. read more

I LOVE this farm. I purposely drive by this farm on my way to work each day. We used to go to a different farm for the fall but this past fall we decided to try Dame. We had a wonderful time. Went on a hayride, picked pumpkins, picked apples, and bought our gourds. The farm stand is also wonderful! Such fresh and beautiful veggies! Will be back again this fall! read more

My daughter and I took a brief walking tour of Dame Farm before we got kicked out since we weren't there to buy anything or pick blueberries. We have lived in this area for 30 years and have purchased from these people over the years. It was such an embarrassing experience as the women(owner?) shouted at us to leave when she realized that we were not picking blueberries or whatever. Very poor customer relations and certainly not a welcoming environment. No signs were posted to convey the rude woman's message. Rather an "open" flag was waving at the entrance. Will I go back to purchase anything again???? NOT! I posted this to FB and received validation of several similar experiences dealing with these people. What a shame! read more

I loved going to this farm. The people that work there are always very nice and will go out of their way to help you. They always have the best vegetables and they have the best sweet corn in the state. They have a really nice fall set up with horse drawn wagon rides, all the fall decorations, corn maze, pick your own pumpkins and apples. They even have pick your own blue berries and peaches during the summer. I highly recommend checking it out. Makes for a good family tradition and a great place for local produce. read more
