A nice and friendly place to have any meal from breakfast to supper. We were invited turn for three…read moredays for my husband's business trip. The atmosphere is a little aged in that the booths are all of different designs and material. Lots of clutter and various handwritten messages and neon lights to advertise their ice creams and such. We were invited to seat ourselves both times that we went there. And the staff quickly brought our menus. A varied menu with a large selection. I had the Captain's plate- there was no description, but it was listed under seafood, so I hoped for the best. My husband had some variation of a French Dip. Both actually turned out to be delicious. The roast beef in the French Dip was tender and tasty. My husband could tell that it's unlikely that the au jus was homemade, but it was still very good. My favorite part of my Captain's Plate was the fried Oysters. I was a little leery of ordering seafood that far from the coast, but I was pleasantly surprised. We came back 2 days later for breakfast. I had Eggs Benedict and it was very good. I really liked the potatoes that came with it. More like tiny, crisp little French fries than soggy hash browns and my husband and I really enjoyed them! The "hollandaise" sauce was probably from a mix, but still tasty . A little disappointed in the pressed ham that was part of the Eggs Benedict, but it didn't ruin the dish.

I went with a friend for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night…read more First of all, the new decor is beautiful! It's classy without being pretentious. It's nice enough for a special occasion, but casual enough for family dining. The menu has been trimmed down, keeping some old favorites, and adding some new offerings. The staff was welcoming and very professional. The waiter (Joey) was attentive, yet not intrusive. The "Smoke on the Clearwater" cocktail presentation was stunning! I'm just sorry I didn't think to take a photo. It wasn't my standard drink, but I liked it very much. My friend ordered a custom cocktail and was very pleased with it. My friend ordered the Seared Sea Scallops served with Risotto, which she enjoyed very much. I ordered a Ribeye Steak. It was cooked exactly as I requested, but unfortunately, it was not tender, so I hardly ate any of it. After offering a substitute entree, (which I didn't accept because I was already pretty full), the waiter took it off the bill with his regrets. For dessert: The House Carrot Cake, and a Lemon Bar, both of which were beautifully presented with a sprinkling of gold foil. Generous portions and quite good. I hope the word gets around that this updated version of an old favorite is worth checking out. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Modern upscale renovations that highlight the bar area instead of the amazing view…read more The prices are extremely high, not just for this area but in general. I could forgive the high price if the food quality matched, but it doesn't. It's possible that the handheld items are better than the entrees, since customers seemed to be happy with their onion rings and sliders, but the entrees were disappointing. I tried the steaks, which were over cooked and lacked salt. The best thing on the plate was the potato cake, and for a $56 -$52 price range i was left disappointed. The server explained the steaks are sous vide and all come out the same temp. Not everyone likes the same temp, and at the prices listed you should have an option to choose. Hopefully the menu is worked out and food quality improved, but if I were to go again I think I would stick to the bar and grab a cocktail.
