Golden called back that evening and was there the next day doing an estimate. The other company never called back at all. The Golden appraiser recognized the tree was in bad shape with a split down the middle and that time was of the essence. (We had strapped it together to try to keep it from falling onto the house.) They were there the next day to cut the tree down, and then there the following day to remove the stump. (You have options of cutting down vs. total removal so you can plant another tree.) I was impressed with the option of paying a bit extra for protection for any possible damage to the sprinkler system with the tree removal. Losing our beloved tree broke my heart, but this company was spot on, professional and we would definitely use them again.

Forgetting who did it last time, I contacted Moon Valley Nurseries (stay away!) who I saw trimming a neighbor. Moon quote - they were going to charge me $5500 to trim 3 trees!!! Not remembering who I used before, I turned to Nextdoor. And bam! Twin Oak Solutions popped up and then I remembered that was who I used before (and was super impressed). They gave me a $600 quote for the exact same trees (don't forget Moon quote above) and came out the next day. The trees look fabulous. The crew cleanup was incredible not a spec of a branch or leaves left. And they mulch what was cut off, so no messy sidewalk pick up to deal with. After searching many online and BBB reviews of tree service companies, I called Floran Tree…read moreService. I spoke with Ricardo on the phone. Ricardo set an appointment to come look at the two enormous trees in our front yard. We had been given previous quotes for service that were simply preposterous. Ricardo arrived on time, introduced himself and got right to business. We spoke about the trees, and he was able to provide us with a quote that was immediately accepted. He even supplied us with his company's Certificate of Insurance that day. A few days later, Floran Tree Service began work, with an impressive crew. Did I mention, these were really big and very old trees? Like acrobats, the men climbed, tied off, cut and lowed the massive limbs. They then chopped them up and fed them into the chipper. They even used mini-skids to remove the largest pieces into their large trailer. After a full day (9am-6pm) there were barely 2 stumps and some large slices of tree left. Since they made such quick and professional work of the massive trees; we had them quote a 3rd tree in our backyard that has been a leaf factory. After a nice weekend off, the crew and Ricardo arrived on Monday, polished off the stumps in the front yard and then devoured the medium sized tree in our backyard (not getting but a few twigs and leaves in our pool, which were easily scooped out). Floran Tree Service expertly removed our trees, cleaned up the area and deserve the 5 Star review that we are leaving. (Side note - Our less than neighborly neighbor wrote a scathing review of Floran Tree Service. They were NOT clients of Floran Tree Service, but looking, most likely, for some free work. This was all from 2 water bottles that just happened to be accidentally left just barely on her yard and a few small twigs. Her unhinged rant at ME the day after the initial cutting, just proved that some people are forever victims. BTW, she threw the "debris" onto my yard, and I simply threw it away. Sadly pathetic and mostly childish behavior from the neighbor). I would 100% and wholeheartedly refer Floran Tree Service to ANY of my friends, and even to my detractors (they're that good).

A little over a year ago we bought a home with a lot of marginal oak trees clustered too close…read moretogether in spots around the property. One of these spots had two trees leaning out and over the homes roof, with one of them lifting a concrete walkway right next to the house. We needed an arborist to assess their risk to be compliant with the town's requirements for removal, and we called out Tree Shepherds. Let me start by saying that Randy F is one of the most thoughtful arborists we've ever done business with. He came out and assessed all the trees on the property, produced a quote for removal along with a letter to the town explaining the risks, and trimming and care for all the other trees on our property. It was a lot of work, the trees had been in their "natural" state for a long time. Don't get me wrong that's fine, but they were not healthy due to the crowding and abundance of dead snags, bugs, etc. After receiving permission for removal from the town, we had Tree Shepherds out to do about half our tree trimming and care at the same time. This was mostly due to cost. The workers were fantastic, and did an amazing job cleaning the yard. Communication was perfect. Before time came to get the other half of our trees taken care of, a more "budget friendly" company came knocking at our door. For less than half the cost they took care of the other half, and I deeply regret it. A year after that, you can literally look at our trees and see which were cared for by tree shepherds. They're flush, healthy, and vigorous. The other companies heavy cut focus and lack of focus on trimming for growth really shows. Now one of those trees cared for by the budget company is on it's last legs. We're nursing it with the help of tree shepherds, and perhaps nothing would have been able to save it regardless of who trimmed it. But it's Tree Shepherds or no one for us from now on. I can't recommend them enough. Spend a little extra, get a lot more quality.
