This will be my NYC garage. I've been looking for years for an honest and fair place to take my…read morecar work. I could never find one so I would always try to save my work for when I travel to Florida because I have such a mechanic there, but now I'm going to Tyrone32 for anything I need done when I'm in NYC. The reason: Orlando. I had a check engine light on. I had been calling around asking different shops if they run complimentary computer scans and general pricing for evap system issues, as I knew that was likely the culprit for my light. A few of the shops I called were kind of rude over the phone and didn't really want to spend any time answering questions. I came across Tyrone32 as I was driving around my new neighborhood and decided to call. I explained my situation to Orlando and he was so nice, listened to my thoughts, asked me some questions, and said just to drop in and he would check it out. He came out and ran a complimentary scan for me, checked out the car, and answered all of my questions. Orlando's customer service was amazing. After I left and arrived home, I noticed that a center button on my Jeep rim had popped out. I called Orlando to see if it had popped out somewhere at the shop and sent him a picture. He said that he couldn't find one that matched at the shop, but that he had a few extras laying around that were slightly different and he would just give me one if I came by--I mean how rare is it that someone just gives you something because they have an extra and you are in need? Super rare. Can't say enough about how great his customer service made me feel and again, I will be exclusively getting maintenance on my car here.

They will not push you to do work you don't need and they will advise you on how to fix your car as best as possible based on your budget. Right now this is the only repair shop I trust wholeheartedly. The one drawback is that you may have to wait several days to get an appointment because they are very popular (it's a small shop with only two mechanics - Joe the owner and his assistant) but they will work with you if you have an emergency, you will just have to wait an extended amount of time to get the car back. Whenever you drop your car off, be prepared to wait the entire day for the repair or possibly until the next day, but your car will be fixed right and they won't spring any surprises on you. If there's some other issue with the car, they'll call you and ask you what you want to do. I really like these guys they have integrity.

My sister and I have been going to Randy for years--and totally trust him. Just bought a new car and plan on bringing it to him, rather than get ripped off again at Subaru service. Just to give a perfect example of Randy's honesty - For the first 5 years we had our Subaru, we brought it back to the Subaru service dept because we mistakenly thought we had to because of the warranty. After 5 years we went back to Randy. 2 years later, we rec'd a recall from Subaru on the airbags so we had to go back to them to have it fixed. While there they did a "multi-point inspection" and gave me a list of things that had to be done (including rear brakes). The list came out to just under $1300. I just listened and smiled, knowing I had an appt with Randy the following week and would see what he had to say. I was pretty sure I was going to need the rear brakes (since Subaru had told me 2 years before that I needed them) but obviously was not sure of the other items. Randy looked over the car and called to say I needed rear brakes. I asked "anything else" and he said nope- just the brakes. Ended up paying UNDER $400 vs $1300 at Subaru!! We don't put much mileage on our cars but bring them to Randy every 6 months for an oil change and check-up anyway knowing he will never tell us we need something done that is not necessary. DO NOT HESITATE to take your car to D&L. Can definitely trust Randy.
