Used this business for a tuneup of my lawnmower. The service was the prompt and reasonably priced.

I think I found a gem. It's a small shop, and I actually was able to talk with the owner. He seem…read moreto know what he was talking about, but never got too technical. That's what the mechanic are for. Anyways, I reached out to them via Yelp and scheduled an appointment. I was weary of auto shops. They tend to sell all kinds of services, but not this place. They asked what was wrong with my van. Based on my complaint/issue, they diagnosed the problem. After about 30 minutes, the mechanic came and talked to me and asked more questions. From what I've gathered cars are complicated, the mechanic needed more information before he was able to pinpoint the root cause of my issue. They fixed it. After taking delivery, I validated by driving for an hour or 50 miles. The codes never came back! I can pass my emissions test now. I will say this with confidence: They have earned my business! I will come again. Thanks!

Review DO NOT GET…read moreANY WORK DONE AT THIS PLACE. Let me be as direct and factual as possible. Here is why they are not a good business. - They were quick to take my nearly $1200 for an AC repair, but when it was finished, nothing had changed. Same exact problem. They were not excited to continue looking at my vehicle. Next is why: - They told me it could be up to two weeks before they could look at the problem, and I would need to leave the vehicle there in case something changed. I explained that this vehicle was how I made a living and could not afford to do that. - I asked, and tried to reason with them about this. Matt at the counter basically said he didn't care and everyone gets treated the same. Leave it or it won't get looked at. - I tried to work out a future date that I could schedule the work to be done to make right what they did not fix, and was promptly told again that they would NOT do that under any circumstances. Matt followed this up by saying a business next to him spends over $100k a year with them and they have to wait, why shouldn't I? - I further pushed to emphasize that I didn't have other vehicles to use like them and could we please schedule a time to fix what I paid for. Matt's response was "if you wanted to schedule when work gets done then you should have picked a large shop that does that. Here you just get in line and wait. - None of this was expressed to me initially and they had no problem taking my vehicle right away, but now that it isn't resolved, they will get to it whenever they can. - I even called ahead when I found the issue wasn't fixed and thought I set up an 'appointment' for Friday since I was told to bring it in Friday morning and leave it. The vehicle sat there all day and wasn't touched. That's when I got the 'we don't work weekends, but you'll need to leave it and maybe we look at it next week. Completely inconsiderate and disregard for their customers. So save yourself the frustration and a huge headache. Avoid these people at all costs. They do NOT have your best interest in mind and are not interested in any follow up work that's not a quick fix. Now I am stuck with a vehicle that has not been repaired and wasted money with them.~ Ken I.

**DO NOT RECOMMEND**…read more In April of 2024 we had a lifetime wheel alignment done on our SUV at the Shelbyville Pike Pep Boys. We were told that we could take it back as often as we wanted to and get the alignment checked. We have had no problems whatsoever with the vehicle but decided to take it in to get the alignment checked after we got our tires rotated. After we had been there for over an hour, we finally went and asked about our vehicle. We were told by the first employee that they could not do the alignment because the front tie rods needed to be replaced. Another employee told us that the steering wheel is not straight and that they could not do the alignment because it would not hold very long if we did not let them replace the tie rods. We asked how much money they were talking about, and the employee told us that it could be as much as $800 to $1,000. We have no reason whatsoever to believe that we were told the truth but that they were strictly trying to rip us off. We told them to forget it and back our vehicle out of the shop. When we got home we checked the steering wheel, and it was perfectly straight when the front wheels were straight. It is our impression that the lifetime wheel alignment is just a gimmick to get the vehicle brought back to the shop so that they can attempt to force you to buy additional services. Now that we see all these other reviews, we know that we made a big mistake ever going to Pep Boys and will never go again for anything. We will also be warning others, as we have already done!

Tire Discounters

Tire Discounters

Went to Tire Discounters on Church Street in Murfreesboro, TN to have leak in my tire fixed (having…read morebought my tires there about a year ago). Friendly service and a reasonable wait and tire was repaired but the job was not finished and they attempted to scam me into further repairs. When I left, my TPM sensor alerted to low pressure (20lbs) in the repaired tire - so I stopped and filled it at a gas station. Before I left, the mechanic informed that my rear break pads needed replacing as the pads were only 1mm thick and almost metal on metal. He said the front pads were fine. As it was toward close of business day, I left, intending to have the break pads replaced later and not drive the car until I did. The tire pressure event left me skeptical about the quality of break work they would do, so I went to another repair shop to have the pads replaced. This other repair shop inspected my brakes and informed me that my pads were only down 75% and did not need replacing. I paid a $46 labor/tax fee for the inspection they did. The repair shop knew about the low quality and low reputation of Tire Discounters. Bottom line, I left having a simple repair done to a tire with a severely underinflated tire that I needed to fill and a scam attempt to have unneeded brake work done. As well as a $46 charge and time wasted on unneeded repairs. I will never use Tire Discounters again and will follow the marketing 200 rule (when you are dissatisfied, 200 people will hear about it).

About their Church St location in Murfreesboro…read more.. Never go here. They completely and intentionally didn't listen to a thing I said, did nothing, and gave me useless advice on stuff completely and totally unrelated to the tiny problem I wanted them to look at. Which they didn't even look at. Not only incompetent, but unwilling to listen to the customer. I do not need to pressure wash my engine to remove oil, for them to at least look at a radiator drain plug on the bottom of the radiator that is VERY visible just by looking under the bumper. I showed them even pictures on my phone taken of the one thing I needed looked at, and they didn't even look at it. Didn't even try. Also they were just arrogant about it. All I needed was help, and on a plug/bolt in one tiny and easily accessible place from under the front of the radiator. Never ever go to a place that intentionally ignores what a customer is telling them, and never ever give business to a place where they are arrogant to a customer about them being right. (They didn't even go near the area I asked them to look at, refused, and were self-righteous about it). Find any other place than this, who can treat the customer right. I'm sure they can put on tires fine, but when they say they also do auto mechanic work... don't trust them.
