Went to Tire Discounters on Church Street in Murfreesboro, TN to have leak in my tire fixed (having bought my tires there about a year ago). Friendly service and a reasonable wait and tire was repaired but the job was not finished and they attempted to scam me into further repairs. When I left, my TPM sensor alerted to low pressure (20lbs) in the repaired tire - so I stopped and filled it at a gas station. Before I left, the mechanic informed that my rear break pads needed replacing as the pads were only 1mm thick and almost metal on metal. He said the front pads were fine. As it was toward close of business day, I left, intending to have the break pads replaced later and not drive the car until I did. The tire pressure event left me skeptical about the quality of break work they would do, so I went to another repair shop to have the pads replaced. This other repair shop inspected my brakes and informed me that my pads were only down 75% and did not need replacing. I paid a $46 labor/tax fee for the inspection they did. The repair shop knew about the low quality and low reputation of Tire Discounters. Bottom line, I left having a simple repair done to a tire with a severely underinflated tire that I needed to fill and a scam attempt to have unneeded brake work done. As well as a $46 charge and time wasted on unneeded repairs. I will never use Tire Discounters again and will follow the marketing 200 rule (when you are dissatisfied, 200 people will hear about it). read more

About their Church St location in Murfreesboro... Never go here. They completely and intentionally didn't listen to a thing I said, did nothing, and gave me useless advice on stuff completely and totally unrelated to the tiny problem I wanted them to look at. Which they didn't even look at. Not only incompetent, but unwilling to listen to the customer. I do not need to pressure wash my engine to remove oil, for them to at least look at a radiator drain plug on the bottom of the radiator that is VERY visible just by looking under the bumper. I showed them even pictures on my phone taken of the one thing I needed looked at, and they didn't even look at it. Didn't even try. Also they were just arrogant about it. All I needed was help, and on a plug/bolt in one tiny and easily accessible place from under the front of the radiator. Never ever go to a place that intentionally ignores what a customer is telling them, and never ever give business to a place where they are arrogant to a customer about them being right. (They didn't even go near the area I asked them to look at, refused, and were self-righteous about it). Find any other place than this, who can treat the customer right. I'm sure they can put on tires fine, but when they say they also do auto mechanic work... don't trust them. read more

I will no longer go to Tire Discounters on South Church Street or any other location after my last visit. Until recently, the South Church Street store employed very good technicians. That has changed, probably due to "employee politics" among the techs. My last visit entailed having an alignment done along with other suspension work. Two or three days later I started hearing a rattle in the front end that sounded like something was loose. I brought this matter to the attention of the manager. He said that they (meaning the tech(s)) had checked to see that all items were secure. Not so... When I get good service I am a very loyal customer. After believing what I was told since I had never before had any issues, my wife and I were riding around hearing an intermittent "rattle." This past weekend I installed a Strutmaster Conversion kit to do away with the air suspension. The quality of the ride is very much like the factory original suspension. When starting the project I first jacked up each side of the front (individually) , performing a lateral wheel movement test by hand that I discovered there was about 1" - 1.5" inches of lateral movement; hence, the rattling sound. I also was able look and see the outer tie rod on the driver's side was moving. By the grace of God, did I decide to do the suspension conversion! The outer tie rod end was on the brink of separating from the steering knuckle!! If that had happened on the interstate we would have wrecked, quite possibly being seriously injured or worse! Everyone makes mistakes and I am by no means immune. However, when someone tells me something and I later discover it's not true, that tells me they are not taking responsibility. This is not some "water cooler" gossip matter. This is something quite serious that needs to be corrected before someone is seriously injured or killed. read more

Do yourself a favor and go 2 minutes down the road to Discount Tire. We normally use Discount Tire but since my son needed an alignment and oil change we figured we would give Tire Discounters a try as they were offering free oil change and alignment with tire purchase. My son works 6 days a week so this seemed very convenient. Boy did we make a huge mistake. I had spoke with the manager prior to getting there and was told as long as we arrived by 4 they would get everything taken care of. We arrived at 2 and they only had 1 other customer. They immediately started on the vehicle but said they would see if they had enough time to do the oil change and alignment. My husband politely told them we definitely needed the oil change and to please do it since we were told by the manager everything would be completed and we arrived 2 hours prior to closing. They started the oil change. While we waited we thought everything was being completed and thought everything was going well. So at exactly 4pm Tom brings us to the desk to let us know they did not complete the alignment as they ran out of time. He advised us to bring the vehicle back for the alignment and said it was our fault because if we hadn't persisted that they complete the oil change then we would have gotten the alignment. We explained again to him that we came there due to my son working 6 days a week and it was convenient however having to make a return trip for something we were told would be completed was no longer convenient. My husband requested that he write that they would cover the tires if any damage due to not getting the alignment occurred before we were able to get the alignment. Tom became very angry and told us he would not write any such thing. Needless to say things escalate and I have NEVER been talked to the way Tom spoke to us. The manager had left right after we had arrived so I requested that Tom get the manager on the phone. He argued with us about not doing the alignment for 20 mins and finally after I requested the manager he spoke to one of the techs to see if he would do the alignment. He did the alignment and it literally took them less than 10 mins. To beat all of this we watched a tech walk around picking up trash, cleaning, and talking the entire time we were there. I did speak with the manager who was very apologetic and tried his best to resolve the issue but I let him know we would never be back. We paid more for the tires here than what we would have a discount tire but due to the convenience we were willing to try it. NEVER AGAIN!!! Discount Tire will ALWAYS have our business and apparently will get Tire Discounters business as Tom turned away 3 customers while we were there. Discount tire is ALWAYS very respectful and has excellent customer service unlike Tire Discounters. Stay away unless you enjoy being disrespected and talked down to. The only good thing I can say is that the manager of the store and the regional manager did reach out to us attempting to keep our business other than that I have nothing good to say. Little bit of advice to tire discounters - send your employees to Discount Tire for training as those employees are ALWAYS moving, working hard and have excellent customer service. Being nice and respectful goes a long way. read more

Just go to DISCOUNT TIRE. These guys are an absolute scam. I had a bad tire pressure sensor, went to get it fixed, came out and none of them worked. Then tried to tell me i had three nails in a tire and it was illegal to remove them so i needed a new tire. Went to discount tire and they said there was only one nail and removed it for free and told me to stay away from tire discounters they work on commission. My buddy just had a bad experience as well. Put new tires on bent rims and tried to tell him he did it after they worked on it. Even though he called them the day he left the shop and they did nothing. read more

My car was due for oil change and tire rotation, and I was fairly sure I'd put it out of alignment a few weeks ago. I was planning to call to schedule an appointment, when I received an email offering free valet service until the end of the month, which was just a few days away. I was able to schedule the appointment promptly, and the 2 technicians who came to pick up my car were courteous and respectful of me and my vehicle. I was contacted to verify that the car was, indeed, out of alignment and to obtain my permission before proceeding. The car was back in our garage within just a few hours of being picked up, all of the service completed and at a reasonable price. Tire Discounters has been servicing my car for about 3 years, including tire repairs, and I'm very happy I took the recommendation of a friend who also relies on them. This will be the last time we spend money at Tire Discounters. After an issue at the location on Lascassas Pike (one of my new tires literally exploded 30 minutes after getting home, and we were not apologized to or given a discount for my entire day being taken up, and they acted like they did us a huge favor by replacing the exploded tire) we decided to come to the Church St location for an oil change and tire rotation. The tire rotation was free since the tires came from here. I was charged $70 for a regular oil change, and when I asked about the price, he told me "it's a big motor." Really? I have never been charged more than $45 for an oil change anywhere (including previous oil changes at Tire Discounters), and my motor is the same kind of motor that's in a pickup truck. read more

Went in with a leaking tire on a Saturday and they told me I would have to wait until closing time to get my car back. I said fine, I'll leave it and come back. After that they said I would actually have to leave it until Monday. I couldn't do that, but I understood that they were busy, so I thanked him for his "honesty" and walked out to look for a place that could patch my tire. As I was pulling out of the parking lot I saw the guy walk out with a couple to take a look at their tires. Looks like they had time for people who were looking to purchase new tires, but not returning customers who needed one of their products fixed. I do some delivery work for my company, so my boss went to Tire Discounters and had my Honda registered as part of the company fleet in order to get their discount. Two or three months after he registered our company, I went to Tire Discounters to take advantage of that and get four new tires. They mysteriously didn't have our companies information, and I had to pay full price. They offered no explanation as to why. They still have those fliers taped to their cash registers saying to "register your company vehicles for a discount." The service was great. The lady at the register was infinitely patient, but the fact that they didn't offer me the discount and had no reason why really rubs me the wrong way. That 15% discount is like half a day's wages to me. It was the only reason I went there in the first place. I won't be going back. read more

He found us a great tire that would work for us and was within our budget. I highly recommend this store. Greg and Kyle are great and have your best interest in mind. I had been to this location twice before and had good service. When I needed a tire pressure sensor replaced I had no hesitation in taking my car here. I dropped my car off for the tire pressure sensor and oil change at 9am. I called at 3pm and was told they would have it ready to go in 20 minutes. When I showed up at 4 it was still on the lift. I finally got my car back at 4:45. It took them 7 hours and 45 minutes to replace one tire pressure sensor and perform an oil change. On the drive home I noticed they had not reset the oil maintenance light. I also found once I got home that they had taken the rear cargo area of the car apart to access the mechanism to lower the spare tire but had not put any of that stuff back together (cargo cover/jack/ratchet mechanism to lower the spare). Lastly my wife told me a day later the car was making a noise when she as driving it. After investigating I found the spare tire was dangling underneath car and had not been properly secured after they replaced the sensor. The service manager (Avery) gave me excuses about how they were short handed and how more jobs had been scheduled than they could handle and I get that employees call out sick etc. But he was aware he was short handed and that he had not finished my car when he told me it was ready. I'm sure the sloppiness of the work stemmed from their rush to get the car finished and to get me out of there. Lastly they tried to charge me more than was originally quoted and when I questioned it they showed me where I had signed the estimate but it wasn't my signature or paperwork. Ultimately they did get make a concession on the labor due to the time it took but with the shoddiness of the work I found afterwards it's irrelevant. I had such a high opinion of this place prior to this visit but I will never take my car there again. They have lost me as a customer. read more

I had a nail in my tire, stopped in to let them patch the hole. During the process they ripped the bead of the tire leaving it unable to hold air. They tried to say that the tire was damaged before I came into their shop. Luckily, I know people in the tire industry. I paid them for a new tire, took the old tire with me, showed it to my friend and he said the tire was damaged at their facility. I returned the next day and the service manager (who was not there the day before) agreed that they had damaged the tire. I will not be back. read more

Worst service I've ever received! Apparently it is their policy to not return calls and just lie about what they are going to do to resolve an issue. My truck overheated and broke down. Had my truck towed to the murfreesboro, TNstore on church st. They replaced a radiator and thermostat. They said they tested everything and that the truck was good to go and then convinced me to get 4 new tires and an oil change guaranteeing me it was fixed. Next day I drove less than 30 miles and it did the exact same thing. Brought it to the closest store which was Mt Juliet, TN. They did not have a head mechanic on site so I had to leave it there. Next day they say it's my head gasket. I called and complained to the original store manager Brian about the issue and requested they refund me for the brand new tires since I only bought them because they said my truck was fixed and asked that they tow my truck back to Murfreesboro. He agreed with my complaints and said he would have to talk to Caleb the regional manager. It took several days to receive a response at which point he said Caleb agreed to take back the tires and issue a refund for the tires but would not tow my truck back, but because I paid cash it had to come from their corporate office which should take 2-3 weeks. I agreed to this but still was requesting they tow my truck back since I spent almost $1,000 on the radiator and thermostat alone and it didn't even last one day without the same issue. He said he would talk to Caleb and get back with me. It's been 2 months since that conversation. I've called and left several messages for Brian, the store manager, and have not received a single phone call back regarding my truck or the refund. Last week I stopped by the store in Mt Juliet and finally was able to get the regional manager Caleb's phone number. I called and left him 2 messages got no response. I work long hrs in Nashville so had not been able to stop by the Murfreesboro store until this past Tuesday Dec 18th. Caleb the regional manager was there said he remembered everything and that he did issue a refund but never received any calls from me, even though the voice mail says Caleb regional manager for tire discounters. He asked why I hadn't picked up my truck from the other store I told him I was waiting on a response and a refund since the truck was not drivable at this point. He said they would not tow my vehicle back but that I should have already received the refund. He apologized, shook my hand and said he would have an answer for me and would call me by 9am Wednesday morning. I recieved no call. I waited until 10:30 called his number, no answer left a message, no call back. Waited a couple more hours called the store no answer. Then I called their corporate office and talked to a lady by the name of Sarah who said she would be talking to everyone involved and also Caleb's boss and I should hear back from someone by the end of the business day but that she couldn't find anywhere showing a refund had been issued. I've recieved no phone calls back from anyone. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried the corporate number again on Thursday at around 4:15 and after a few minutes on hold decided to use the option of leaving a number and message for them to call back. Now 2 days later and have still received no phone calls back from anyone involved. Apparently it's their policy to ignore customer complaints instead of trying to resolve them or even return a phone call. I will never recommend them to anyone. Told me I needed a replacement plug, then I don't. Employee also laughed when I asked the difference between full and half synthetic. Very unprofessional and shady. When I first started going to Tire Discounters I had a great experience with them now their service has gone down the drain. I usually don't write reviews but the last issue was the nail in the coffin. The first one was over a yr ago which I should have spoken up then but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I purchase a full set of enkei rims from the store on church st. Murfreesboro for my Maxima. The tire tech was supposed to just change the tire pressure sensor and the tires over to the new set up rims. About 30 mins past the tire changer tech called the manager back which I paid close attention to. The shop manager came and told me I had a issue with my tire and they couldn't mount it the way it was. My only solution was to purchase a new tire. He then showed me my driver side tire that had a perfectly round groove on the outside that he claimed was already there. It was so bad the rubber from the tire was grounded off in the inside. If this tire was like that before Why did I not notice it when I walked around my car when I pulled in the parking lot, Why did he not mention it before he tried to take the tire off. The reason he failed to mention it is because it was a perfectly round circle caused by the arm on the tire machine. This cost me 100 bucks. The last and second incident was approximately 1 week ago when I went in for an oil change. I have 3 vehicle they change the oil in, one being a Mercedes at the price of 90 plus dollars. Anyway this time I took in my work truck which I always pay 29 to 32 dollars. When the guy told me my vehicle was ready the price came to about 60 dollars. I asked the guy why was there an increase of close to 30 dollars. He informed me that was the price for synthetic, my response was I don't run synthetic in my work truck and never have. This should have been discussed before the oil change. 1 store 2 different issues same results. Time to find a new place. read more
