Even children's hair... For some reason every barber I brought my kids to cut their bangs straight across like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber.. For the love of God, why???? Would you do that to an adult man?? Anyway, they're good, always busy which is a good sign and reasonably priced. And friendly! Ps.. It's funny, I just went back and read the other reviews and have had NONE of the problems the other folks mention... Everyone's super nice, you can make an appointment so you're guaranteed a haircut, which is a smart idea anyway, especially on weekends, and I've never heard inappropriate talk in front of my kids. The place is a classic barber shop with only one chair. While some may find this to be a bad sign, I took it as a good one-after all, whether the place succeeds or fails is completely in the hands of the barber. No appointments, walk in, and cash only. I waited about 10 minutes for the man before me to finish getting a cut. The barber took his time, was able to give me the haircut I wanted, and didn't force any conversation. That being said, he's an easy guy to talk to, and has ESPN on to break the silence. All of this coupled with a more than reasonable price ($17) for a quality cut, and I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a haircut. I'll definitely be going back.

I would try some here and there and was never happy with the cut. For important events I would suck it up and make the long drive to my old barber shop. I know a lot of men around here like to go to salons for their haircuts but I was looking that good old barber shop experience. Sports on the TV, real magazines in the racks and good conversation with real people. If this is what you are looking for also, then Nick's is the place. Price is about $18 which seems average for around here. The cut is good and I have not been anywhere else since.

Gave Nick's a try since my other barber was booked. I was not disappointed with the service. It is a small shop, only two chairs, and it was pretty hard to find because I drove past it without even knowing. Dave cut my hair and even though I was a few minutes late he did not rush through the cut. He seemed pretty focused on details and was very open to comments and my suggestions of "a little more here" and "a bit shorter there". I've honestly never felt that comfortable with a barber right off the bat. The phone did ring off the hook and since Dave was the only one in the shop we had to pause multiple times. He made sure everything was to my satisfaction. At the end of the cut, the finishing touches were the hot shaving cream for the back of the cut and a skin toner. For $18 a cut, I will definitely be going back.

A friend suggested I try a barber shop, and good riddance to all the salons who charge me $50+ for a "women's haircut" when their men's cuts (read: short hair) are much cheaper. Other than Madison's uncanny ability to know exactly what I want with my vague descriptions, what I love about Constitution Plaza Barber Shop is they charge one flat rate for everyone. My biggest pet peeve is when I have to pay a haircut upcharge for no apparent reason other than identifying as female. It's really convenient now that my husband and I can get our hair cut at the same place, and Madison does as great and as consistent a job on his fine, curly hair as she does with mine. For safety reasons, for now they are requiring people wear masks at all times inside and to stay in your car while you're waiting. They have sanitizing procedures between each appt and hand sanitizer at the door. They do take walk-ins typically but I do recommend booking ahead, especially now. Also they're cash only so make sure you bring extra for tip!
