I did ask not to go up on the cheeks do to sensitivity but down and sideways was fine and told him he could go up when under the chin. When I was done he said going sideways was the same as going up so he ONLY went down. I still felt stubble under the chin but like I said, everyone does things differently. Overall: the cashier and owner were great, when she heard I wasn't completely satisfied they offered me a gift card to come back to the owner for a shave but I wouldn't do that to his son who sits behind him. Even though I wear my hair in 1970s and '80s semi-punk rock-style, he's able to make it work, while keeping it styled. He provides little extra touches, like cleaning-up the eyebrows, and removing excess nostril-hair. Joe has a fun personality, and he's proud of his Italian heritage.
