When I think brunch, I usually don't think Indian, but this place has made me change my mind! I came here for the bottomless brunch with a friend ($37 total I believe) and we left satisfied! Indian food is full of flavor and spice (not just heat) so it was no surprise that we enjoyed almost everything we ordered. The best way to describe the food is tapas style (as far as brunch in concerned), small plates that are great for sharing. We ordered quite a few dishes and one after another we were generally satisfied with what we got.
We started off with the Duo of Chaats, which I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it was amazing. It was a mixture of textures and tastes, with killer flavor. We then got the Chicken Kabob Eggs Benedict, again great flavor, no complaints. Shallot Potatoes came next, and I have to say the curry flavor with the tender potatoes was just out of this world. The Chicken Tikki Makhani reminded me of a chicken masasla, robust and great flavor and heat. The Salmon sliders were a little bland in comparison but not terrible. If you're looking for spicy food you can try the Pork Belly, it was presented with some bao shapped buns and with each bite it had me downing my drink. The last savory dish was the Sweet Potato Chaat, and though I like sweet potatoes and it had a gorgeous purple and orange color, it was somewhat of a let down, a bit too salty and sour for my taste, not enough natural sweetness. Finishing off the small plates were the Appam Waffle Sunday and the Cookie Butter Dosa. The waffle sunday wasn't what i expected, a little chewy at times, but the flavor, with the sauce that was poured on, was just mind blowing. And lastly, the Cookie Butter Dosa, it was a pretty great way to end the meal, super sweet and tasty. The food was good overall, though it was definitely more Indian fusion than traditional indian food, which is still a win either way.
Now for the drinks, my friend and I tried the majority of the drinks and man were they good. We started off with the Rum Lassi, a mango lassi with rum, it was probably my favorite drink there. Super fruity, bursting with mango and a creaminess yet still filled with rum, it's definitely a good way to start the meal. We then tried the Brunch Punch which was gin based, I'm not completely sure what was in it, but it was tasty, a little subtle tropical notes yet still refreshing. If rum or gin aren't your thing, go for the Tamarind Margaritas! It's basically your normal margarita but with tamarind so it's nice and tangy. And while some places make their margaritas too sweet or too strong, I will say here was just perfect. The tequila didn't taste harsh and the sweetness was balanced out by the tamarind. It was probably my second favorite drink after the Rum Lassi. Somehow the one drink that was somewhat of a disappointment was the Mimosa. It was great that they used freshly squeezed OJ, major props for that, but it wasn't chilled at all so it was kinda 'meh.' Though I will give them some credit, they definitely had some champagne in there.
The only thing I'd say that needed improvement would be the service. It took a while before our waiter even introduced himself to use, over 5 minutes. At times it seemed like they weren't the most attentive. Maybe they were slightly understaffed that day? I'm not quite sure, but the service was lacking. Friendly service but a little slow.
Overall I'd definitely come back again, especially when you want some bold flavors full of spice and the occasional heat. I also love the fact that the URL for the brunch menu was DosasAndMimosas, it makes it slightly better somehow.
TL;DR: Good quality Indian fusion food and drinks, service could've been faster. read more
