I was quoted 3-4 hours to load, 8 hours later truck not loaded. 2 hour drive to my new house, I have a toddler with special needs and I got them to bring beds, couches, and chairs inside so I could rock him to sleep and actually sit on furniture. They marked up my living room wall with the couch. My desk has a knee hole in the top, a bookshelf destroyed. And they have photos as proof that the damage was prior.... NEVER EVER use these guys. I left 3 messages within 48 hours of my move about the damages and "they didn't get them". Now they are calling me a liar because I filed a claim with BBB. Be prepared if you do use them to follow them all over your house to see how much they are on their phones since they take photos in your home without your knowledge. According to the owner. The gentlemen that helped me worked hard and were very friendly, I just would maybe been I formed of these items being damaged before finding them hidden like a little kid did it. Also one of the hottest days in South Dakota this summer so I made sure they had cold drinks and asked if they wanted lunch my treat. And I am a liar. read more

Would give these guys 10 stars if possible. So pleased with the service from scheduling the move to the final delivery. Derek responded to my inquires within minutes. The cost was less expensive than I expected. Devin and Socretes (sorry if I mis spelled your name) were amazing and made my move stress free. Ben and Jose were great. These two are incredibly hard workers with a passion for the work at hand. Ben has an eye for how to stage what goes onto the truck and Jose digs in and stays on task! I would recommend Dakota Movers....they moved my mother from Dakota Dunes to Plymouth. The only suggestion I would have is that they personally connect with their client prior to the start of the job...we expected them at 9 AM and did not hear from them until they called around 10 to say they were 20 minutes away. read more

I do not recommend this moving company. Employees break items, they don't show up on time or no one shows up at all. Employees are not treated very well and get hurt. No one cares. read more

Awesome service! I hired to help my little sister move back home in South Dakota since I couldn't be there. She is really petite and she couldn't have been happier with the customer service plus as a chiropractor I'm super happy she didn't hurt her back trying to move everything herself! The only thing they did right was show up. When I hired them I asked the owner if packing stuff would be ok. No problem he says I told him it was a mess. No problem he says. I told him the place was owned by a hourder. No problem he says The owner was with the the crew that showed up. He took one looked and refused to do it. They left. I called another mover and told him the story. They showed the next day and the move was done in 5 hours. I do not recommend this company to anyone. To bad there isn't a zero rating. I moved last Thursday and Hired Dakota Moving llc to load my rental truck for me. What a nightmare. The two men that were sent to help me at 55$ an hour each were total clowns. First I told them how to dismantle my platform bed and instead they just ripped the side board and broke the main support beam in half and ripped the support legs off of it. Second I have a beautiful decorative chest they caved in a drawer on and tore up the top. Then I asked them specifically to take my desk out in one piece. I walked in the room to find it completely taken down and broken all to pieces. My brother passed away a little over three years ago and I had a memorial stone made for him. Idk how the on Earth they could do it but they managed to break that too. My grandpa made the birdhouse in 73 and died in 77. So can't exactly fix it after I watched them STEP on it. This is just a few of the things I found destroyed before the truck was even loaded. At one point they were gone for at Minimum 30 minutes. I assumed they were up loading my stuff in the garage. Nope standing around BS'ing on my dime. When I went to the owner Derek immediately when the two of them were done and told him what a disaster it was and showed him pictures. His response. They would never load a truck like that. Well guess what THEY did !!! He then decided he would reimburse me my 300$ , claims he put it in the mail Saturday. Yep no money. I waited until today to give him the benefit of the doubt. And shocking enough he won't respond to me today. So I guess this is my only way to protect anyone from EVER hiring them and destroying the things they care about. I also had to drive another 1000 miles to get the rest of my things because they couldn't manage to fit a 1 bdrm apt into a 17 ft Truck. I recieved an email from their supposed attorney with a release stating if I signed the release the money would be transfered to my account today. The release said I was accepting 300$ as compensation for damages and I would seek no further compensation as a result of Dakota Moving LLC. Are you kidding me! HE offered to reimburse Me and even gave me his insurance agents name. And NOW is sending his lawyer after me to sign off on 1000's of dollars damage for 300$. I don't think so! read more

Where to start.... THE GOOD: I have a 3 bedroom house with a bunch of loose items. From the start, the owner answered all my emails promptly. Then, the day of the move, Eric, my mover, called to confirm timing for the pickup. They arrived when they said with 2 trucks. We spent 30 minutes laying out a game plan, and they went to work, and work, and work. I appreciated the care they took with my mirrors, my china hutch, and other breakable items. I have some tight corners, and they moved all my stuff without scraping the walls. The unloading went just as well as the loading. I REALLY appreciate how they listened to how I wanted items staged and things stored together. They actually cared that my items arrived intact! I can't say enough about how quick AND careful they were. THE BAD: Budget Van Lines. I needed a mover. I had heard of Budget Van Lines as a national mover, so called them. Huge mistake. Budget isn't a moving company. They just call around and find anyone, literally anyone, who will move you. I described over the phone everything in my house with the Budget rep, Mike, who was from a call center overseas. The high pressure tactics were: It was a high demand time...no movers are in my area...my move required extra equipment...blah blah blah. So after paying $2,000 for a deposit. they gave me the name of my mover: a fly by night operator who travelled around the country renting U-Hauls and day labor. I asked for references and HIS OWN REFERENCES said he sucked. Budget wouldn't give me my money back, but after dealing with 4 more Budget clowns, They FINALLY connected me with Dakota Moving Co. So basically, Budget charged my $2,000 for Googling "Movers Near You". THE UGLY: Dealing with Budget Van Lines. I cannot stress enough how awful this was. And Eric. He's not handsome, but damn that guy works. read more
