Upon walking in, there were 3 people at the front. Not one of them acknowledged my wife or I. We waited around and tried to find our own flooring for 20 minutes. Other people walked in and the sales staff all asked them if they needed help. There was still nothing for us. We have purchased from Thorton's in the past but we won't come back. Since the new building, they don't seem like they want to help anymore. The customer service was just nonexistent. read more

I did not have time to come in to the showroom to choose what I wanted so everything was communicated via email. I was offered very limited selections of options to choose from for flooring and carpeting to upgrade my house for a rental. I think they must have assumed that I wanted mediocre quality since it's set to be a rental. For carpet, I was given 2 options for colors to choose from. I was initially offered the 30oz carpet but I feared it would not be plush so I wanted to upgrade, so 40oz was the next up. For flooring, I had 3 options for colors to choose from. I choose what was best based on what was presented to me. They took 2 days to install over a period of a week. I guess it's normal for after installation of the flooring that they don't install the toilets back for you? Anywho, after installation, I noticed the carpet felt CHEAP, I wondered if the upgrade was done? I can't imagine what the 30oz version would feel like. The flooring also cheap looking and felt slippery, maybe because it was new. I hope that wears off otherwise it's going to be an issue. Not happy with the results I complained about it to Mike, the properties manager. He was pleasant and we worked out the solution for it. What I learned from the experience was I can't trust the experts/professionals to do the right thing and pick out what I need over emails. They made it easy for me choose by giving me limited options but I should have asked about the quality. Thornton's did an excellent job on our new flooring for kitchen, dining area and foyer. Jeffrey was very helpful (and patient) with showing us samples of various types and explaining the benefits of each. The installers were meticulous in laying the floor - no uneven lines, uniform grout lines, clean up after the job, etc. They even removed the trim around the floor, moved the fridge and stove and even a fairly heavy hutch from the dining area and returned them to their places when finished. Unfortunately, we have other areas of flooring in our house that need attention. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Thornton's for our future needs. read more

Went to get a quote to replace the kitchen floor. Lady at the desk was eating ice cream. Took 10 mins to get a salesperson. Soon as she found out we didn't have a contractor, she became uninterested and acted like we were wasting her time. Said she would have a guy call me to set up a time to meet. The guy shows up but he has no idea which flooring we picked. Over a week later, we have to call to get the estimate. Acted like our kitchen was too small for them. Haven't heard from them since. Don't go to this place. Wasted 3 weeks of our time. They only want your business if your house doesn't have any furniture so the install is easy. read more

The guys who installed our new carpet showed up late and smelt horribly of cigarettes. We had our new carpet installed after our trim was set in how it is supposed to be and they COMPLETELY ruined our trim we worked so hard on. The tool they used left dents and scratches along the trim in the entire room. I wouldn't recommend them if you want a good job done. Needless to say we will not ever do business with them again. read more

I went to Thornton to get laminate flooring. I picked out what I wanted and we agreed on the date for the work to be done. The installers were here on January 17 & 18. When they were almost finished one installer said he had the wrong finish pieces for the doorways. They left without finishing. Slow forward to the third week in March when they finally made arrangements to finish the work. They were short about a foot for one doorway. I am still waiting with the last doorway to be done. The only mistake I made is paying for the whole thing before the work was done. Sandy M read more
