Small location in a strip mall. Only breakfast was being offered when my husband and I arrived on Sunday around noon. We were told breakfast was served until 2pm. The breakfast included pancakes which were deliciously spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. They were fluffy too and not heavy like vegan pancakes can often be when someone who doesn't cook vegan well is the chef but these were definitely some good vegan pancakes. Tofu scramble, potatoes, a crispy seitan breakfast sausage, and broccoli were the main plate. Everything had a good amount of spices and flavor. I usually don't like too much salt and the breakfast sausage was a bit salty but with the charred outside and meaty center the saltiness worked well. The tofu scramble, potatoes, and broccoli were well seasoned too. The portions were big but I would have liked a little more tofu for my preference. We also got juice and peach cobbler from the cooler. The ginger lemonade was our favorite. We will definitely eat here again! read more

When you feel like eating healthy, plant based foods that don't lack flavor, Daisy's is the spot! I have tried a variety of their dishes and each has been a delight. I would not know that I wasn't eating meat. Pre-Covid they also gave classes to educate and inform you of better lifestyle choices. The chefs are amazing and welcome any questions you may have. They also make really good juices, teas and smoothies that promote health and boost your immune system. read more

Daisy's Cafe ii - Mac n cheese, Buffalo tips, jerk tips, and bbq tips! - Vegan Near Me - Hazel Crest, Illinois

This is my go-to meal when hungry and in need of something with a ton of flavor. The Smoke Protein wrap itself is filling but I love adding the bbq tips as the perfect somewhat sweet but savory finish. If possible I'd strongly suggest ordering ahead as there's nowhere to sit and wait. This is a small business and food is made to order. As of July 3rd the inside is still not available for dining due to the CDC guidelines in Illinois. If only rating the food it would be 5 stars but taking into consideration the whole experience, the atmosphere upon entering isn't inviting and the wall with pictures of the menu spread out makes deciding what to order somewhat difficult. read more

So this review is for the four plate items off of the hot bar. I wanted to try this place for myself since I such a fan of the originals Daisy's in Phoenix, IL. (I hate they closed down!) First of all this place was difficult to find and I know this area like the back of my hand! It's actually on 171st street and not Dixie Highway even though that's the address. I was traveling west on 171st and turned on Dixie Highway when I should have just went across the light and the strip mall was right there. So when I arrived it was clean and I was greeted by a young lady who told me I could sit anywhere. My order was taken for the hot bar and the young lady fixed it for me. I ordered greens, mac and cheese, yams and the steak and gravy which is made out of seitan. I'm not a fan of seitan and maybe it would have been better over some rice but I didn't care for the steak and gravy. The mac and cheese was okay. The greens and yams was delicious though. It also came with soup which I choose the lentil one and a dessert. I ate the lentil soup the next day, although I added a bit of nooch and tajin to it. (I like my food a bit more seasoned) I have to come back and review the peach cobbler that was dessert because I gave it to my girlfriend. So if I'm passing here and hungry, I'd stop for some greens and yams and maybe try something different on the menu. But I wasn't that impressed with the hot bar and wouldn't make a special trip just to go here. read more

Daisy II is a total vegan restaurant. The day that I went (yesterday), there were chairs and tables but it appeared to be placed for waiting more than to sit down to eat. However, there was an announcement that karaoke would be held there next week. It definitely had the space to host events! I'd to say that if you are not vegan or never ate vegan food, this is one of the best restaurants to start a transition. The food is fresh and healthy. Because the food is fresh and in such high demand, be prepared to wait. I really like the smoked protein avocado wrap, ground protein tacos, fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, and fresh fries. That is the only items that I have tried, thus far!! Very good eating!! read more

Delicious vegan food. I avoided this restaurant only because I thought I read some terrible reviews on yelp...maybe this was a couple of years ago? In any case my sister and I stopped here on a whim and the food was delicious! We had the rice, sweet potatoes, seitan (I think) with mixed veggies, collard greens, cabbage and mac and cheese. Service was good. Ambiance was ok but don't let it deter you from trying the food. We would go back for sure as we really enjoyed it. read more

I stopped in today for my meatless Monday dinner and I'll say this "don't judge a book by it's cover " the place could have been a tidy bit cleaner . However I was there and wanted to support . Let's just say I found my new spot for dinner on Monday's. I had the jerk tacos with mushrooms and the berry smoothie . SO good seriously!!! This place is a hidden gem !! read more

You dont have to be a vegan to try their delicious food! I had a plate of 3 dishes that came with the most amazing West African Chili. To me, it was a meal itself! For my plate, I chose Mack and cheese ( amazing), greens ( delicious) and my kid chose onion rings ( perfect) We also were offered to taste curried tofu. It was delicious but I had tofu that morning for breakfast and it was just too much tofu for me to add to my plate. I would highly recommend everything we had that day. You won't be disappointed! I cannot wait to go back! So glad they opened not far from where we live. read more

Best Vegan soul food I have ever had! Flavorful! Made my meat-loving German father-in-law question if this wasn't really meat BBQ! We devoured the food. The people were very nice and accommodated my screaming baby. Awesome lemonade-not too sweet. Buffalo tips and BBQ tips were amazing (Chicago Diner has a new rival for flavor!) What a delicious surprise! I visited them for lunch today. I was a little hesitant to order vegan food due to some of my allergies. The cashier couldn't answer my questions, so the chef came out to listen to my concerns and then recommended a meal: veggie tacos and eggplant nuggets. The eggplant was seasoned perfectly. The tacos were hearty and topped with just the right amount of cilantro. Well done! I'll be back soon. read more

I wish I could give a rating about the food but I couldn't get past the customer service. Piss poor. The young man who was working alone today 1) gave me attitude on the phone when asking about the menu 2) didn't let me know that their grill "closed" a hour before they close. So I drove 20 mins just to wait for 10 mins for someone to come greet me. I really love our black people and want to support but this is the exactly reason why I get my vegan food from Chicago Diner in Logan Square.. I'm really discouraged to try this place again. I may for the sake of the culture but wouldn't dare recommend. The whole vibe is like a old school rib shack and the one staff person I saw needs a new position. read more

Great Family owned Business! Amazon home cooked and freshly prepared vegan menu. Variety of items, all full of flavor!

Food is SOOOOO good. Healthy and tasty options. Service without any smiles but who cares I create my own joy. Slow service but perfection takes time. Food is well worth the wait and blase customer service. read more

They used my stolen credit card and made up fake "custom" charges.

The food is ok, but we waited for over 40 minutes for two burgers smothered in BBQ sauce with wilted lettuce, and spaghetti. In addition, pretty much everything listed on the menu was out and there was no condiments or napkins available for customers. I asked for salt, ketchup, and mustard and was told the ketchup was out and it took 10 minutes to get the other items. I would not go back by unless they made several improvements. read more

The food was good. I had the yams the mac & cheese but the mac & cheese sauce didn't really taste that cheesy but it was still good and I also had the barbecue cauliflower which was pretty good as well! The service was fast it was efficient the food was ready soon as I ordered it. I do have a critique the entire restaurant looks like a hole in the wall like there's no decor anywhere. At register and there's a lot of no papers piled up. It's looks dingy like nobody does a thorough cleaning. Around the baseboards it's dusty. The restaurant lacks a good welcoming atmosphere. I'm not surprised because eating a plant-based diet isn't really main stream Perhaps the owners don't have a lot to invest in to the Decour of the restaurant itself. But again the food if you're just judging it off of the food the food is really good it's just that the restaurant is lackluster. read more

Daisy's Cafe ii - Barbecue cauliflower yams and macaroni - Vegan Near Me - Hazel Crest, Illinois

I really didn't want to make this but my food was so unsatisfactory. I just got to be honest yall. This is not to be rude. Anywho, the baked beans wasn't cooked. The corn was sticking to my teeth. The Mac had no salt. The greens was so bitter. The ribs and the dressing was decent. The potato salad and chef salad was decent. And then I got a lot for my buck. I feel they might have been overwhelmed. It was Mother's Day. read more

My girlfriend and I just watched "the game changers" on Netflix which goes into detail on the science and advantages to a plant based diet. We decided to try out Daisy's. SO GLAD WE DID. While the food is good they lack organization and order. I've been waiting over 50 minutes for my order which consists of a gyros and fries, I called in adavance to arriving. Several people had gotten their order ahead of mine despite calling in. The people working there are nice but have lost me as a customer because of poor follow through. read more

The food was great and do was the service. I had stir-fried noodles and fried mushrooms

I DO NOT like giving bad reviews... but when I left here I was NOT pleased with much. Im only giving it 2 stars because the bbq tips were very delicious no lie. I would come back only for this. We went on a day where there was a sewage leak in front so it smelled disgusting. We were told 15-20 mins for a medium sized order. We waited exactly 1 hour. Not a problem to wait just wish I would of known it was going to be more than double the time I was told so I can leave. 30 minutes into our wait time a man comes from the back and tells us they ran out of pita and if it was ok to use spinach bread for the gyro. No problem. When it was time to get our food the woman tells us she forgot to tell us there was no macaroni. I didn't want nothing else... I HAD TO ASK to take it off the bill. I even tipped $4 when I paid in the beginning for a $29 order. We get to the park to eat I opened up the "gyro" it was a green burrito with white sauce and meat. Disgusting. Far from a gyro. Lemonade was wayyyy too thick and sugary. On top of everything, we were watching people walk in, order, and get their food before us. This was a horrible experience inside and out. They should learn proper business ethics since they are vegan and vegans drive far just to try something new. read more

Great location Great having a clean close vegan option around the Homewood area. Food always fresh to order and taste good. I tried the BBQ tips yesterday they were a 10/10 also had the jerk tofu which was very good and fired cauliflower and fresh cut fresh fires all was hot and delicious. Only thing I wish they could do is give out a tad bit more fries who don't like fries. Keep up the great food Daisy's cafe read more

I LOVE this place. As a new vegetarian I was looking for something other than salad. My friend and I bravely jumped in the car and set out on our search for vegetarian delights. I had heard about Daisys II from a friend so we decided to try it. It was the best decision I've made in my short vegetarian life. I decided on a vegan Gyro and rib tips. The Gyro was so good that if I close my eyes I did not miss the meat at all it was seasoned to perfection tasty and flavorful I would recommend to anyone. I traded some of my rib tips and Gyro meat for some egg plant nuggets and a bite of my friends avocado protein wrap everything was excellent. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the eggplant nuggets since I pulled away from this wonderful place. The atmosphere was cozy and staff was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and willing to educate me. I say this is a must try for everyone read more

Delicious food I'm looking forward to my next visit- but pack your precious the wait can be long.

Love the food especially the tacos with the sweet potato fries. And their bottled juices are amazing.

This was some of the best vegan food I've ever had!! Great flavor and great service. Everyone was very kind. Will definitely be back again.
