Small location in a strip mall. Only breakfast was being offered when my husband and I arrived on Sunday around noon. We were told breakfast was served until 2pm. The breakfast included pancakes which were deliciously spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. They were fluffy too and not heavy like vegan pancakes can often be when someone who doesn't cook vegan well is the chef but these were definitely some good vegan pancakes. Tofu scramble, potatoes, a crispy seitan breakfast sausage, and broccoli were the main plate. Everything had a good amount of spices and flavor. I usually don't like too much salt and the breakfast sausage was a bit salty but with the charred outside and meaty center the saltiness worked well. The tofu scramble, potatoes, and broccoli were well seasoned too. The portions were big but I would have liked a little more tofu for my preference. We also got juice and peach cobbler from the cooler. The ginger lemonade was our favorite. We will definitely eat here again! read more

The Smoke Protein wrap itself is filling but I love adding the bbq tips as the perfect somewhat sweet but savory finish. If possible I'd strongly suggest ordering ahead as there's nowhere to sit and wait. This is a small business and food is made to order. So this review is for the four plate items off of the hot bar. I wanted to try this place for myself since I such a fan of the originals Daisy's in Phoenix, IL. (I hate they closed down!) First of all this place was difficult to find and I know this area like the back of my hand! It's actually on 171st street and not Dixie Highway even though that's the address. I was traveling west on 171st and turned on Dixie Highway when I should have just went across the light and the strip mall was right there. So when I arrived it was clean and I was greeted by a young lady who told me I could sit anywhere. My order was taken for the hot bar and the young lady fixed it for me. I ordered greens, mac and cheese, yams and the steak and gravy which is made out of seitan. I'm not a fan of seitan and maybe it would have been better over some rice but I didn't care for the steak and gravy. The mac and cheese was okay. The greens and yams was delicious though. It also came with soup which I choose the lentil one and a dessert. I ate the lentil soup the next day, although I added a bit of nooch and tajin to it. (I like my food a bit more seasoned) I have to come back and review the peach cobbler that was dessert because I gave it to my girlfriend. So if I'm passing here and hungry, I'd stop for some greens and yams and maybe try something different on the menu. Daisy II is a total vegan restaurant. The day that I went (yesterday), there were chairs and tables but it appeared to be placed for waiting more than to sit down to eat. However, there was an announcement that karaoke would be held there next week. It definitely had the space to host events! I'd to say that if you are not vegan or never ate vegan food, this is one of the best restaurants to start a transition. The food is fresh and healthy. Delicious vegan food. I avoided this restaurant only because I thought I read some terrible reviews on yelp...maybe this was a couple of years ago? In any case my sister and I stopped here on a whim and the food was delicious! We had the rice, sweet potatoes, seitan (I think) with mixed veggies, collard greens, cabbage and mac and cheese. You dont have to be a vegan to try their delicious food! I had a plate of 3 dishes that came with the most amazing West African Chili. To me, it was a meal itself! For my plate, I chose Mack and cheese ( amazing), greens ( delicious) and my kid chose onion rings ( perfect) We also were offered to taste curried tofu. It was delicious but I had tofu that morning for breakfast and it was just too much tofu for me to add to my plate. I would highly recommend everything we had that day. You won't be disappointed! I wish I could give a rating about the food but I couldn't get past the customer service. Piss poor. The young man who was working alone today 1) gave me attitude on the phone when asking about the menu 2) didn't let me know that their grill "closed" a hour before they close. So I drove 20 mins just to wait for 10 mins for someone to come greet me. I really love our black people and want to support but this is the exactly reason why I get my vegan food from Chicago Diner in Logan Square.. I'm really discouraged to try this place again. The food is ok, but we waited for over 40 minutes for two burgers smothered in BBQ sauce with wilted lettuce, and spaghetti. In addition, pretty much everything listed on the menu was out and there was no condiments or napkins available for customers. I DO NOT like giving bad reviews... but when I left here I was NOT pleased with much. Im only giving it 2 stars because the bbq tips were very delicious no lie. I would come back only for this. We went on a day where there was a sewage leak in front so it smelled disgusting. We were told 15-20 mins for a medium sized order. We waited exactly 1 hour. Not a problem to wait just wish I would of known it was going to be more than double the time I was told so I can leave. 30 minutes into our wait time a man comes from the back and tells us they ran out of pita and if it was ok to use spinach bread for the gyro. No problem. When it was time to get our food the woman tells us she forgot to tell us there was no macaroni. I didn't want nothing else... I HAD TO ASK to take it off the bill. I even tipped $4 when I paid in the beginning for a $29 order. We get to the park to eat I opened up the "gyro" it was a green burrito with white sauce and meat. Disgusting. Far from a gyro. Lemonade was wayyyy too thick and sugary. On top of everything, we were watching people walk in, order, and get their food before us. This was a horrible experience inside and out. They should learn proper business ethics since they are vegan and vegans drive far just to try something new. read more

Great location Great having a clean close vegan option around the Homewood area. Food always fresh to order and taste good. I tried the BBQ tips yesterday they were a 10/10 also had the jerk tofu which was very good and fired cauliflower and fresh cut fresh fires all was hot and delicious. I LOVE this place. As a new vegetarian I was looking for something other than salad. My friend and I bravely jumped in the car and set out on our search for vegetarian delights. I had heard about Daisys II from a friend so we decided to try it. It was the best decision I've made in my short vegetarian life. I decided on a vegan Gyro and rib tips. The Gyro was so good that if I close my eyes I did not miss the meat at all it was seasoned to perfection tasty and flavorful I would recommend to anyone. I traded some of my rib tips and Gyro meat for some egg plant nuggets and a bite of my friends avocado protein wrap everything was excellent. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the eggplant nuggets since I pulled away from this wonderful place.
