Shopping in Westwood Village, Seattle, Washington…read more.. I was on the other side of the shopping center and parked near Marshalls. After walking around one complex, I saw the blue familiar ROSS sign across the way - and was so happy because I needed to return something that I purchased yesterday. I asked the security guard at the door if I should return my item first or do it with a purchase. He said that either way is OK, but there was no line at the moment. I decided to look around and do the exchange later and at one time. I was looking for a shoe rack for my niece. However, I found some Labubu hair ties and went to the cashier. I told her that I wasn't able to find a shoe rack. Later on, the manager helped me find them - ah - they were unassembled... I was looking for already assembled ones. It makes sense to put it together at home so that it fits in the car easier. Thanks for your help! Mission accomplished!

Walking into Ross Dress for Less was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone with self-respect or…read moredignity. From the moment I stepped foot into this disorganized madhouse, I was greeted, not with a warm welcome--but with the cold, watchful eyes of two security guards stationed at the entrance like nightclub bouncers. Their presence immediately set the tone: not "we value you as a customer," but "we're watching you because we assume you don't belong here." I came in for one thing--two suitcases. Simple, right? Wrong. The suitcases were scattered across the store like debris after a tornado. As I navigated the mess, I noticed I wasn't alone--because apparently, I was such a "high-priority threat" that no less than three dorky ass loss prevention associates took it upon themselves to tail me. Their cartoonishly obvious attempts at surveillance were insulting and infuriating. I stayed in the store for a mere 25 minutes, and by the end, I was counting the seconds until I could escape. WHEN MY AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD GRACED THIS SHITTY UNORGANIZED ESTABLISHMENT WITH MY TRANSACTION APPROVAL, I naively thought the ordeal was over. But Ross had one last indignity in store for me. As I tried to leave, those same "bouncers" felt the need to check my receipt and inspect the inside of the suitcases I had just paid for. Let me be clear: I understand the realities of retail theft and the need for security. As a Black business owner, I'm no stranger to the challenges of running a business. But this wasn't security; this was harassment. The unspoken implication If Ross Dress for Less can't tell the difference between protecting their assets and alienating paying customers, they don't deserve anyone's business--least of all mine.

Examples: Four full-sized muffins, $2.50. Poppyseed and Raisin Bran are fantastic. Four medium-large cinnamon rolls, $3.59 LOADED with icing. Half pies, $4.59; apple, pecan. Croissants, breads, what have you. It's a great deal. However, there is still the issue with the bags. I have noticed QFC at least bringing back handles on their paper bags, but not at this Fred Meyer. Yet. I emailed Mike Johnson head of Kroger about this, but--I only expect a response in the form of bags with handles. Safeway still uses plastic bags with handles, and they're not as good as Kroger, Fred Meyer. So why won't they keep up? Obviously, it's not a state mandate, otherwise nobody could get plastic bags anywhere. Bread. Pastries. Beans. Chips. Trash liners. Cereals. Bagels. Rice. Potatoes. Produce. Salad. Pasta. Over half the items in the stores use plastic bags, so why should the carry-out bags be any difference? Won't make a dent. I just bring in my Safeway plastic bags when I go to Fred Meyer. Not to be a jerk, mind you, but to prove a point. Bags with handles are best.

It's very rare to have such an immediate flip in service in one visit between 2 deli associates…read more First I'd like to address the courtesy clerks hanging out outside, not gathering cars, the cashier's inside with no help to bag while they're outside checking their phones and socializing. The shoes, white short sleeve button up shirt with a blue tie and navy blue or black slacks to match! I was a courtesy clerk at 16 when there was etiquette, training and most definitely strict representation of the store's brand! No matter who you asked from the bagger to the manager, if they worked there, they knew where literally everything was located and if something was out of stock! Nowadays I get a lot of confused looks or "I don't know" and they walk off without attempting to assist! Nowadays you're lucky if you can find 1 committed, hard-working courtesy clerk at any store! To...I digress, let's get it! I initially ordered their 4 piece for $5 and a 1/2 lb of JoJo's. The 1st associate was very welcoming, sincere and thoughtful when picking out the 4 pieces. She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I went to my truck to see if I had any change there, I didn't so I went and gave the man my 4 piece and JoJo's and went back inside and ordered another for myself...this was the other associate. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. I came home and immediately regretted not saying anything; over 1/2 the jojo's were hard and stale! The pieces of chicken she choose weren't any better! Some weren't even hot, but they're all sitting in the warmer together so how is that?! It's the end of the day, I get it. It's a busy mother's Day, I get it. Customer satisfaction is your job...Get it?! Do Better!! To the initial associate: Thank you for your dedicated service! The man in need got some well selected fresh chicken for dinner and I'm grateful for that!

Update: thank you, Peter, Laura and Jenny for everything that you've done for me…read more You have heard my voice and created a safe place to claim for me to receive the best possible treatment from your department store. I feel that because of your actions in this matter you gave back to me, and allowed me to receive the respect that I deserve. If it wasn't for the three of you, I would have still been trying to figure out exactly the best way to correct a horrible situation. I never would've thought that an employee who has been with a Company for over 30 years would lie to a customer, let alone especially everything I've had to go through to get to this point in my life. Oh my, did I find a deodorant that I simply fell in love with at Nordstroms!…read more I have been dabbling in different colognes and deodorants... brands I would not normally purchase and I got a brand of deodorant I simply fell in love with that I got here. Terre D'Hermes is the name of the brand of the deodorant I purchased. It's a bit more expensive than what I am used to paying but this made all the more fun and enjoyable trying out something new. The deodorant rolls on so amazingly soft. It is just so silky while applying it. And the fragrance is nice and musky. If a guy just wants a hint of cologne and nothing too strong then just applying this would be all that you would need. Of course this product comes from France... still holding down as being the perfume capital of the world it's no wonder why this deodorant is so amazing.

Okay, let's be honest. You don't go to a Dollar tree store because you expect a luxury experience,…read moreright? Right. Glad we got that out of the way. You go here for a bargain. And bargain stores can usually only afford rent in lower income areas. This can lead to stores being located in areas that suggest you bring some pepper spray with you. It is what it is. On this particular day, I came to this location. On the outside, the store looks a bit worse for the wear. But I was so so surprised upon entering. Now, I go to lots of different Dollar tree stores because the stock and inventory can slightly vary. This is part of the fun. The ladies that were stalking there made it such a lively environment that I immediately felt both safe and welcomed. But vivacious ambiance aside, I just have to give five stars for the cleanliness of the store. I usually come to the toys and books aisles and when I say it was pristine... It was pristine! I had to take a picture of the toy aisle alone. Granted, I did come early in the day, and I know things can change over time. But you can tell that the ladies that work here take pride in where they work. When it comes to cashiers, it can be kind of a toss-up as to what kind of person you're going to get. But the cashier here was incredibly friendly and approachable. I would definitely come to this location again.
