Okay, let's be honest. You don't go to a Dollar tree store because you expect a luxury experience, right? Right. Glad we got that out of the way. You go here for a bargain. And bargain stores can usually only afford rent in lower income areas. This can lead to stores being located in areas that suggest you bring some pepper spray with you. It is what it is. On this particular day, I came to this location. On the outside, the store looks a bit worse for the wear. But I was so so surprised upon entering. Now, I go to lots of different Dollar tree stores because the stock and inventory can slightly vary. This is part of the fun. The ladies that were stalking there made it such a lively environment that I immediately felt both safe and welcomed. But vivacious ambiance aside, I just have to give five stars for the cleanliness of the store. I usually come to the toys and books aisles and when I say it was pristine... It was pristine! I had to take a picture of the toy aisle alone. Granted, I did come early in the day, and I know things can change over time. But you can tell that the ladies that work here take pride in where they work. When it comes to cashiers, it can be kind of a toss-up as to what kind of person you're going to get. But the cashier here was incredibly friendly and approachable. I would definitely come to this location again. read more

All these dollar type stores are making a mint off overworked and severely underpaid staff. Like they say, you get what you pay for, so don't expect great service. I've never experience much in the way of surly employee interactions, and yes, the shelves can be empty of some things (again, watch the above mentioned John Oliver episode), but overall I think the whole chain everywhere I've shopped at one is fine for what you pay for. Ok so I don't know about the people wanting customer service...AT A DOLLAR STORE!? But me, I'm born and raised in white center back when this was the old generic dollar store and back when it was a thrift store. Yes you will have staff members who have major RBF... Don't act brand new this is white center!! With the customers they have to tolerate with every minute yeah you're bound to mean mug Anyways, this location has items heated to this neighborhood. So not a lot of craft supplies (rocks, flowers, wedding supplies etc) aisles are very narrow, but again this is a old building you can only work with what you have. They have a decent food selection and an assload of candy, perfect to sneak in a.... Oh no those theaters are closed. In recommend never to come here on seahawks days it's packed. Also go in the morning, less customers and better selection. If you need crafts go to the BURIEN location and you can order one their website... It is bulk but hey it beats going to the store and comes in handy for parties cause of the amount you get for a dollar read more

This place gets stranger each year. Be ready for the cashiers to be upset that you are in line. The older woman with the tight curls loves to cuss and yell. She has a pattern of asking people polite questions then switching it up to uncomfortable and shocking questions. I've seen her scold a baby for looking at her. Today the came out of the back yelling and cussing then stood behind my children and I. She said something but we were preoccupied with the transaction when she screamed in my children's ears, "I must stink!" Then she started walking around customers yelling. If I could give a negative score, this review will be a -10. This was my first visit at this location and this by far is the most low life of staff that I have ever encountered at a Dollar Tree. Beyond ghetto & unprofessional. I did not feel safe in that store; especially after ve assaulted by the staff and cursed at as a customer. They first yelled out loud who has a Lexus. I asked if it has Maryland plates. She said yes and I was parked in a handicapped. I told her to re-look at my plates because my plates have a permanent handicap emblem on it. Then as I was doing my exchange and purchase of 30+ more dollars of items, the manager stated nothing I was returning except for the wine glass was on the receipt which was not true because I purchased everything all at once from another store. So I went over the receipt & items with the cashier Teresa to point out the items WERE actually on the receipt. So then the person who tried to say I was illegally parked came over and said oh I know how to handle people like her and looked through the receipts. I guess she was going to bully me. She claimed one box that I purchased was not on the receipt although it said gift box and it was a gift box but I didn't have sparkles however it had bling on it. Regardless, I purchased the item from them along with $150 worth of other items. I then decided not to purchase anything else except do the even exchange of what I was returning because of the bad customer service. The one lady who I believe is Brenda came behind me from the crash register to grab my car pushing me and then abruptly, aggressively taking the cart pushing it deliberately into me where I just had surgery on my back pushing the cart into me so she pretty much assaulted me. I am glad that they have security cameras. She then called me the F word several times and use that word towards me several times where other customers were appalled that she was talking to a customer that way. And, I can't believe that the manager didn't correct her behavior. I asked for the manager's name and the one person refused to give me her name claiming to be the manager. I was able to document Teresa and I believe Brenda. But I do have pictures and know what they look like. These three emoloyees, especially the one that was aggressive towards me and assaulted me, should not be employed and should not be working with customers! They are a very bad representation of the dollar tree. I came from Maryland recently and this dollar tree and those employees are worse than you would ever expect from somebody in Baltimore which has one of the worst reputations in the nation. This dollar tree & the staff makes Baltimore look like Beverly Hills. If you hold values and want to be treated with respect as a customer, stay away from this ratchet, ghetto, bottom of the barrel store. They will curse at you; use the F word towards you; beyond ghetto; unprofessional; they'll push carts into you; assault you; and feel that their behavior is OK and the store manager does nothing to correct the issue because she's part of the problem. I have written some bad reviews over the years when there were abusive staff members for no reason and it infuriated me. But after seeing how hard they work, day after day after day, in such a small store with TONS OF PRODUCT...their stock people work so hard. Deplorable customer service from the worst employees I have ever seen! This Dollar Tree located at 100014 15th Ave SW has two employees name Gavona and Terry who would close the store before the closing time. I'm certain the owner or the manager of the store would not be happy to know of this practice. I was there at 8:30pm to be informed that the store is closed despite the fact it says clearly (right on their door) that it's open until 9pm. Both Terry and Gavona shouted that they are closed multiple times at me and the other remaining customers inside the store. Keep in mind, they were not providing us with courteous warnings, but rather hostile demands for everyone to leave the store. I hope someone representing Dollar Tree sees the numerous low rating reviews for this particular location, store# 4494. Gavona the cashier was extremely rude, she told me she can close the register any time she likes. Obviously, she is cheating Dollar Tree on their business and the hours she actually worked. Dollar Tree should be ashamed to have hired such people. This is a business that is dependent on the patronage of it's local customers, and the behavior demonstrated by these employees are absolutely unacceptable. This store needs to re-evaluate their hiring practices and hold their employees accountable to a minimum standard. Because currently, there are no standards what so ever. read more

Ok the only reason I am giving this two stars is because the selection and size of this place is so good. I had an amazing time shopping until I got to the checkout line. The staff are absolutely horrible. I don't expect as much from a cashier at a grocery store as I would from a waitress, but it was so bad. Our cashier rung one of the five dollar items we had up twice and when we very kindly pointed it out, they said we were wrong and kept going. We triple checked and we weren't wrong... plus we had seen them do it to the woman who was in line in front of us and they said the same thing. The cashier also kept saying how boring their job was and it was just so uncomfortable. The ladies that work here don't ever try to hide their disdain for their job, and don't mind taking it out on customers. Twice now a couple months apart I came here to get balloons and both times had to listen to the cashier complain loudly to her coworker about how tired she is of blowing up balloons, dropping F bombs, not even acknowledging me as I said thank you when she handed them to me, sighing loudly etc. both times. My partner has also openly heard them bitching and complaining and using slurs like "retard". Literally every time we go here, the cashiers are very haughty and rude and unprofessional. I get it - it's a retail job, I've had em, they're not that great or fun. But don't take your disgruntlement out on customers. If you say you've been to dollar store before and you haven't been to the White Center Dollar Tree, you don't even know! Do I feel unsafe when I'm in there? Yes. Has my phone almost been stolen while inside? Yep! Do I worry about my car while its parked outside? Of course. It's not like car alarms never go off in White Center... Right outside the Dollar Tree... This place is an experience. Their candy section rivals Target's, and everything is only $1.00. It's easy to go crazy. Some of the best things I've gotten were 12 oz. frozen mixed berries (for smoothies), fancy bath supplies, and name brand hand lotion. Best of all: Everything costs a dollar!!! read more

I'm a huge fan of the Dollar Tree and track them down to get my favorite energy drink (Rip It!). Unfortunately, this is the closest store to my house and is one of the worst I've visited. There are a few staff that rock, and really go out of their way to make customers feel special. I once saw an employee taking the time to talk with someone who was clearly confused and needed additional assistance. I was impressed by her compassion and work ethic. There are others there that are completely the opposite. I'm also not sure if it's a failure to order stock or a deliberate intent to refuse to ship this store product, but they always seem to be out of supplies. The store is constantly full of boxes and empty shelves which is quite a shame, as there are so many others in great shape. Where else can you buy name brand items for a dollar? I buy Palmolive dish washing liquid, Rubbermaid containers, AirWick air freshners, Oral B and Colgate toothbrushes and seasonal merchandise. They also sell the Seattle Times Sunday paper here for a dollar. Yes, a dollar. I buy several copies when I know there are extra coupons that I want. I'm a couponer, although not an extreme one. Hopefully after this review, all of the Sunday papers won't be sold out. This place is great when you need last minute items like gift wrap/bags, party favors and decorations for any holiday occasion. Bought 3 Tampicos for $3(popsicle). My kid ran and grab a toy. Dianna charge the toy and the 3 Tampicos with tax which up to $4.38 for 4 items but 3 Tampicos can t be taxed. So, I asked her it don t seem right. She gave me an altitude and said they can t do anything about it. There was 5 people behind me so I don t want to argue about the tax. I entered this store at 8:37 pm. I needed to visit a dollar tree to get a few necessary things and drove sometime to get to the nearest one to me. Right when I enter, after getting a basket and walking deeper into the store, I hear over the intercom that the store was closing in 10 minutes. I checked my phone, and it was exactly 8:39 pm. I checked because I felt anxious to hurry. Must I add that I double checked the closing time before driving here and it's because of this that I'm writing this review. I don't want to drive out of my way as I trust that they close at 9 and then be surprised that they are closed earlier because of someone wanting to leave earlier which is unfair to their customers. As I kept shopping, I kept hearing the lady over the intercom to hurry because they were going to close in 5 minutes. This all happened before 8:45 pm (I kept checking the time). After getting what I went for, I went to line up for check out. There I overheard someone tell the customers that were entering the store, that they were about to close and that they had 5 minutes then ordered someone to close the door. At that moment I noticed another employee tell Kari Ann (the employee that kept saying the store was closing) that 9 pm was 10 minutes away and they were told not to be doing that. After that, Kari told the person she first told to close the doors "nevermind." But still continued to tell the incoming customers that they were closed but that they still had a line so ok for them to go look. Like previously stated, only reason that I am reviewing this is because people drive out of their way to get here and count/trust that the store closes at the time indicated. Thanks! read more

Quite bothered by the fact that Maria was rudely passive aggressively complaining about employee scheduling over the phone one lane over. There should be no reason as to why a customer should know all about coworker drama. It makes being at a cashier with a rude employee even more awkward. ALWAYS expect to wait in a huge line to check out:/ they have cheap gift wrap and party decorations . Paint rollers for 1$! You can't beat that! But the line! I've walked in and saw at least 20 people in line and walked right back out and went to McClendons down the street. I was there recently and 2 female cashiers were checking people out while a male coworker was filling balloons even though they really didn't seem to have a ballon shortage. Finally after 30 people had accumulated in line did he open his register. They obviously need to hire better people to manage this place. read more

Having a couple of kids and being a single mom I absolutely love this dollar store. Look in your couch seat cushions and in your coat pockets and take the loot to the dollar store where you can score some pretty good booty. It is great for stocking stuffers, cheap tupperware, kids stuff (playdoh, coloring books). Stay aware from the candles since I have found they don't smell that good. Actually a pinetree car freshener smells better than these. It is always fun to go down the food isle and crack up at the generic names for them. Such as instead of raisens they woud be called grazens. How can you go wrong if you are only investing a dollar? read more
