This Dairy Queen was reopened on January 4, 2026 with a total remodel inside and out. The dining area has a modern look and feel. There is plenty of seating outside with umbrellas for shade. First. We walked in and discovered that this DQ only serves Ice Cream no other foodstuffs like hamburgers and fries. Second. There were 3 employees that I seen all assisting the drive through. I took the fucking time to walk in the store and I still had to ask for help. Ridiculous! Third. We bought 2 boxes of Dilly Bars, 1 Cherry & one Heath. There's only 6 bars in the box and the total for both boxes was just south of $40 $20 per box Forth. Tonight January 31st we each tried one. We noticed that they were much smaller than we remembered. The ice cream tasted like they put sand in it. Gritty as fuck. The coatings didn't even taste good. WTF Hey DQ I will never be back I believe it's illegal to completely change your product! The Dairy Queen in Apache Junction on Apache Trail is really bad . Last time I went there the ice cream was a weird consistency and tasted icy and sour after taste . Today I asked for a cone twist in a cup and said they charge it as a sundae with no toppings . The vanilla ice cream was not even white it was a light tan color . I asked about it and she said that's just the way it comes out of the machine . It did not taste like vanilla at all . She made me another one with all chocolate and again the consistency was weird and left a sour aftertaste . I have gone to Dairy Queen for many years other locations throughout the USA and Canada and it has always been consistent and delicious. Not here !!! Iwas so excited when the remodeled Dairy Queen reopened, I have 6 grandchildren and as a treat I like to buy then ice-cream from this store. The last time I went a small cup of soft vanilla was over $3. That is simply too high, even for a special treat. I came through the Drive Thru on 3/26 around 10pm and I was refused service by a worker named Aubrey. She didn't give me a reason. I sat at the window and waited for someone else to attend me. And I noticed that all 3 employees on shift went and hid in the back. Then this other girl with dark hair, came and told me the same again without a reason. This is unprofessional and unfair, especially because I was never given a reason or had a reason to not get serviced. There was a line of cars behind me and I saw them all get served. We have visited twice during vacations to Mesa and both times were consistent. Location-not great, run down Ice cream, 4 blizzards- again not great, and not made correct. There were chocolate Chex in one of the blizzards and a mix of gummy candy in the other, not what we ordered. Service- the person working both trips (3 years apart) was the same guy and he makes the visit worth 3 stars. Happy to have customers and I expect trying his best. Should've read the reviews FIRST!! Yesterday, my guy and I went to get chocolate malts. One sip and I about gagged. It was straight up ROTTEN!! How the HELL after all these years of the same reviews about rotten ice cream being served, are they STILL open?! This place is horrible, the blizzards were horrible as they had very little filling and was almost watery. The owner acted like we were bothering him when we questioned the blizzards and was just plain rude. We also got some ice cream sandwiches which appear to be made onsite and they looked liked they had melted and then refrozen. Went there on a Friday night at 935 snd they were closed. It says they are open until 10 but just a heads up they are not.

I literally just went through the drive through to order 3 blizzards. The service was so slow that I nearly died of old age waiting to get my order. Then by the time we made it to the window there was an older guy, manager maybe, who literally shoved the order at me through the window and didn't say a word. I've been to this DQ before and ordered a Snickers blizzard. You know vanilla ice cream with candy pieces. Pretty standard. That's what I ordered yesterday and I get it home and it's Phx it had melted a little so I put it in the freezer. When I get it out it's chocolate ice cream with snickers. I call and explain the situation and ask if I can come exchange it and the boy on the phone says that all Snickers blizzards come like that. He said they come in chocolate ice cream and that's how they're taught to make it. I said I've been ordering Snickers Blizzards for how many years and it's always vanilla ice cream unless asking otherwise. But no he keeps arguing. I say we'll on the menu it should specify them that it comes with chocolate ice cream because I don't like chocolate ice cream I wouldn't have ordered it that way. He says I can't bring it back they're closed anyway. Well it was about 8:50 and I'm like 2 minutes away and they don't close until 9:00. He tells me to call back today when I the manager is in. So I call back today and the manager is not in but the same boy tells me that he'll text the manager call him back. So now they tell me that since this happened yesterday I can bring it back but they won't replace it. They will give me a discount to order another. Since it's a day old they wont replace it. OK, ummm so were you gonna feed it to someone else? Because if you're just trying to write a wrong then you would throw it away and make me a new one anyway. My boyfriend and I came here to get ice cream for his birthday and I generally don't like sweets so it was a real "treat" to go there together. We went inside so we could sit down and have the ice cream, and the inside is very dark and dirty looking. When we started ordering, he asked for a blizzard that was listed on a banner in front of the register and they said that they currently don't serve that, so he ordered a different one and they said the same thing so he ended up getting a plane blizzard... I don't know what kind because I am not a normal Dairy Queen person unfortunately. I ordered a cheesecake Sunday I think? But the ice cream was very runny and strawberries were..funny.. While we were waiting on our food, I noticed a small freezer next to the counter that said "50% off 'mistakes'" so I went over to look inside. I had expected to see fresh birthday cakes that simply had the wrong name written on it or a miss spelling, but it truly was mistakes that customers did not want including ice cream cones that were flipped upside down inside of a cup. No birthday cakes, just blizzards, milkshakes, and other ice cream treats that were obliviously half melted before going into the "mistake" cooler. The manager was an older Asian man, and the worker with him was super young. There was a ton of unused machines in a dark back room that looked like they should have been in use or in storage or something. It was very cluttered behind the counter. My boyfriend and I left with our ice cream but neither one of us finished the entire thing and joked that if we got sick in the next week that we would blame Dairy Queen. Happy birthday babe!
