I had been craving a banana split, had a very LONG day at work, and my husband humored me. As we all know prices of everything have gone up, this was a LOT of bang for buck so to speak. The ice cream was rich and decadent, everything I had been hoping for and more. Ethan was a delight and patient as crucial decisions on ice cream selection were made. Honestly, I may treat myself to a banana split once or twice a year, that being said, we WILL be back for scoops of ice cream, perhaps milkshakes, etc. we love supporting local businesses, and what a treat to have Oldies right in town. If you haven't given Oldies a try since the change in ownership, give em a chance, I don't think they will disappoint. Till we meet again Oldies!

When I visited today, I ordered a medium chocolate dipped cone. The staff member had immediately greeted me and was super friendly when placing my order. Appreciate her offering napkins when handing my cone. As I left once my cone was finished, she even told me to have a good day. Definitely set the standard for fast food customer service! I'd definitely return to this location and hope their Yelp rating increases now that it's under new management with a remodel. Check out the photos! Looks so different, and product quality is better. Not only was she slammed making drinks, but she happily assisted me with a huge smile on her face. Apologized for the wait but was so incredibly pleasant I was actually surprised, that is not something I encounter often in a busy establishment and especially from the younger generation. The place wasn't crowded, but did have plenty of people inside either waiting for orders or eating at some of the handful of tables. I looked at the big menu display screens and then placed my order at the counter with the nice woman who works there. I had the brisket plate with chili and corn bread as my sides. The brisket (some fatty, some lean so I could try their idea of both) was cooked well and had a good smoke ring. The smoke flavor wasn't as strong as I prefer, but different people have different ideas and less is more when you're cooking for a crowd, so I respect that. Their barbecue sauce (the red one -- I don't put yellow sauce on brisket -- had a good flavor that complemented the brisket's flavor rather than overpowering it.) As for the sides, the chili was OK, but not something that I would order again. I like chili and was curious. Curiosity satisfied. The corn bread was moist and that middle-of-the-road between sweet and savory that is common in much of Texas (at least the parts I have visited). I like mine a little more sweet, but, like the brisket, I am a believer in getting the texture right first. Be aware if you are a fan of the sweet corn breads.
