I am so disappointed. I ordered my food and when I went to pay their credit card terminal was down. So they restarted and tried a few ways to pay. But, they submitted my order and even gave me my cups for drinks BEFORE my payment went through. Finally my payment went through and was confirmed. But then I was told the order cancelled. Meanwhile my food was ready and in hand and on our table. Instead of just giving us the food they took it back. And I had to leave with my grandmother who uses a walker. So instead of just giving good customer service and letting us have the food we ordered and they prepared, they decided it would be best to throw it away because their system was not working. Why would you prepare our food. Give it to me. Have me fill our cups. Without a secured payment. And then make us leave. Awful awful awful customer service! I wanted to give them 5 *starz*, but there were some - shall we say- irregularities with my medium vanilla cone. The lobes we're neither consistent in height OR width! What the F?? Firstly, we have 2 options for fast food in Smithville. Subway and Dairy Queen. I would easily take the most unclean and incompetent McDonalds here but instead we've got this absolute atrocity of a DQ. Overpriced. Filthy. Zero sense from anyone working there. They get my order wrong almost every time. Staff is horrible, food quality is corrosive. Blizzard was melted, was overcharged for stuff I didn't get AND the food made me throw up. I have started going there for lunch about every 2 weeks; it is very clean, staff is very friendly. Toasty bun, fresh veggies, done exactly the way I want it. I get my food within a few minutes, but then I don't go at rush-times. It's the best DQ food I've had in years. I don't use the drive-up, so can't comment on that. read more

Like walking in to someone's private conversation -- employees literally laying over the counter watching loud videos on their phones as if we weren't even there. Had to wait for the person making my dip cone to look my way (while standing at the counter) so she would come over and give me the cone, which she was holding while continuing her loud repartee with the cook. My husband and I are so disappointed in the Dairy Queen in Smithville, Texas ‼ please understand that the manager is as helpful and hard working as she has always been...however that cannot be said about several of the workers. There have been times that we've been treated so rudely as to completely take us by surprise! Plus the quality and serving sizes have drastically gone down. The hamburger meat is very greasy, the chicken strips are much smaller in size, and no one dares serve the blizzards upside down! The manager is the only reason I can give one star. This is the worst Dairy Queen I have ever encountered in my life. Went there last year and I waited forever and they got my order wrong and the drive thru girl was super rude n had an attitude w me for no reason. But the main reason I am writing this right now- is because my 66 year old parents just stopped their on their way home from working a catering job because they were hungry and ended up being there for over 45 minutes! She said they waited forever for literally everything. To be greeted, have their order taken, and finally when they got their sandwiches, they were completely wrong. So they wait and wait, wait some more until my dad is fed up and gets his money back- he went home hungry. The girl tells my parents that "the two kitchen guys are fighting because someone else didn't show up for work" or some poor excuse like that... absolutely ridiculous that place is trashy af. First of all Dairy Queen is fast food. My rating is based on that. We ordered two steak finger baskets and an order of nachos. The restaurant was clean. The order was fulfilled quickly and the prices were fine. We've eaten at Dairy Queen multiple times in our life and this one actually exceeded my expectations. read more

The DQ didn't get my order correct this evening (9/18/19). I ordered the nachos with shredded cheese only without the drippy liquid cheese... don't like it from any restaurant but they gave that drippy cheese to me in my order with very little shredded cheese. Seriously, I won't eat it ever from anywhere so I'm not complaining about the quality of that particular cheese. I'm sure for those who are okay with it it's fine to delicious! But for me, it's not anything I can tolerate. I'm not giving 2 stars for not getting the order correct because that happens sometimes. I'm giving them only 2 stars because they wouldn't answer their phone and because there's no business hours available on their website. I didn't know if I had enough time to go back to give them an opportunity to get my order correct. I called about 10 times. The nachos went to my dogs... they loved it. I'm sure they gave it 5+ stars. And while I'm on the horn, the young guys that work there NEVER provide napkins. It's annoying to say the least. We stopped at the dairy Queen in Smithville, Texas this afternoon for lunch. The cashier was very friendly. We ordered a chicken strip meal, a Dude combo meal and a cheeseburger meal. We got our drinks and sat down. We needed to wipe off the table because there was something visibly sticky on it. Our food arrived quickly. The deep fried chicken and Dude sandwich were fine, however, the hamburger was not edible. The bun and patty were very cold. The cheese wasn't even soft. I carried the whole meal to the cashier and she instructed the cook to re-make the whole meal. When she brought the second one - same thing. Not wanting to cause a scene, we wrapped the burger and took it home where we de-constructed it, heated the patty/cheese and finally ate it. I'm not sure how a hamburger can be cooked, but be so cold. I've never had a cold burger at any other Dairy Queen. It must be something they do here. read more
