The service here is not great. They take forever to make something as simple as a blizzard and my last time coming I received food poisoning. I ordered a blizzard, which took 30 minutes to make. After consuming the ice cream I realized I had food poisoning shortly after. Would recommend this place as it is obviously unclean and unsanitary. Culver's is right around the corner and I've never had any issues with their ice cream or food. read more

A request was made for me to stop here; I ordered the new burger combo with onion rings and a coke. I stole an onion ring out the bag and it was good. The restaurant was nice and clean and the servers were very friendly. They stay open till ten which is good if you are looking for a late night bite. You may also sit outside to enjoy your meal at the picnic benches. read more

After working in my yard, I headed for a cool refreshing treat at DQ. I keep thinking the foul customer service at the Matteson DQ on Lincoln Hwy. is going to improve, however today was strike three!!!! I understand having a "bad day" but with the infrequence and randomness of my visits at some point the customer experience has to meet the challenges of a "bad day" without losing the standards that paying customers expect and deserve for frequenting this establishment. Two examples of this shared observation: 1. 1pm early afternoon, no ice cream available... really? How does that happen at Dairy Queen 2. Arrived today placed my order , repeated my order 3 times (perhaps the person was distracted or multitasking, I'm not sure), pulled up to the window to pay, the person asked " You have the fries and chicken fingers right?" No , and for the fourth time I repeat my order. With what was unmistakably a deep disappointed sigh, the person stomped off and for approximately 7 minutes I waited for the small Blizzard, that I no longer had an appetite for. I placed an order for a custom cake for my daughter's birthday. I went to pick up the cake today and there isn't anything wrong with the cake itself. But, I ordered it to have the piping border and the writing on top to be in pink. Per request of my daughter for her birthday cake. The cake I got is baby blue. It's written how it's supposed to be and is the correct kind of cake. The person helping me was polite. Told me this was the only order cake in the freezer and the person doing the cakes wasn't there. Didn't apologize or make up for it being wrong. We grabbed food from here last week and had a pleasant experience. I've been here before and its usually slow, they seem to be understaffed always but I am patient so I don't have a problem with it. In these times it understandable. Our food was delicious but I feel as though their burgers have gotten smaller over time. I don't think that's a factor of this particular location but probably of the chain as a whole? But the food was still good! Overall good experience! read more

A brand new business in Matteson, which is nice. Lots of employees, but everyone seemed focused and on point. I had the 2 for $4 special: A choice of fries, a drink, a sundae or chicken tenders. The tenders were rather small but tasty. A generous portion of honey mustard for my sauce. The place was crowded but hopping... was just here and the lady with the green hair is so rude. she was eating pickles while taking our order and walked away while i was talking to her... she then proceeded to tell us the lobby was closing in 10 minutes and we had to hurry up and order our food. Other people came in the restaurant 4 minutes before the lobby closed and she didn't tell them nothing. Horrible costume service. read more

I gave this location a one star because of the service. They do not know how to make blizzards. When I told them what was wrong there was no means of correction. Probably the worst DQ I've ever visited. The employees were not wearing masks. And we're rude when asked about it. I asked if they were supposed to wear masks and the employee said yes. I asked why she wasn't wearing it. She said that they were in boxes in the front. Whatever that meant. When she brought my items, they were the wrong size and argued with me they weren't even though I had the receipt right there. There are much better ice cream vendors in the area that are happy to give cheerful service and follow saftey guidelines. I will be keeping my eye on this store and will report to the health Dept further violations. read more

Ordered a blizzard. They serve it so sloppily, ice cream dripping over the brim. Couldn't even do the upside down test. Lack of ingredients (ordered a royal cheesecake blizzard with one strawberry in the middle- yea Royal my butt). Drive thru cashier didn't care I was not happy with the appearance. Thankfully I got my money back but her nor the manager offered to clean up the appearance. They were quick but messes come quick I guess. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Placed an order online for an ice cream cake, confirmation said the cake would be ready at 4pm. I get there about 5 minutes to 4. Walk in and there is nobody at the register. However, I counted at least 7 employees in the store. One young lady just stared at me from the back, the young man working the grill turned around several time just to look at me. Both looking at me as if I didn't belong in the store. After standing there for more than 5 minutes a person comes from the back, doesn't say anything just looks at me. I tell him I'm there to pick up a cake, he paused and then asked for my name and walked away. A couple of minutes go by and he comes back(not back to the register just within view) and says (in a nasty tone)...SHE STILL WORKING ON IT, IT'S GONE BE A FEW MINUTES. I thanked him and waited. While I'm waiting the entire crew is loudly having a discussion about 5O Cent. One young lady comes from the back and walks past me without saying a word, another young lady comes into view and states that the cake is still being worked on. She at least smiled. Anywho, after waiting for twenty minutes the lady emerges with the cake. I was disappointed to say the least. The writing on the cake looked like my 9year old niece wrote on it. I didn't say anything just paid for it and left. Only reason I waited and paid for it was because there were little ones waiting on this cake. This all happened on Sunday the 3rd. Fast forward to today Tuesday the 5th, I call the store and ask to speak to the Manager on duty. The young lady who answered the phone explained that the Manager was at the front helping other customers. She asked if I wanted to leave a message to which I replied no but can you give me the Managers name. She puts me on hold and comes back and says....she wanna know why you need her name. I said because I'm not leaving mine or my number for fear that no one will return my call so I need to know who to ask for when I call back. Had the worst drive thru experience. Order was wrong instead of a simple remedy it turned into myself being upset over a .28 cent cup of peanuts. I have nothing against fast food workers because we need them to do a service however don't tell me to "Relax"! Smartly I rather spend my coin somewhere else. They need to truly implement a much more training based program prior to releasing employees to directly interface with the general public. read more

I've given three chances for an improvement in service. Each time was progressively worse. The incorrect order three times in a row means I will not be returning. Absolutely no consistency in service or product. My last visit left me with no fries with my meal orders, sour tasting condiments on my burger, orders not prepared as ordered and waiting way too long in the drive through. read more

Don't just throw things together ! Training is important. Take a look at what you advertise...make a peanut buster parfait look like the peanut buster parfait and all of your ice cream treats look just like the picture. Customers will be happy...and will return. read more
