Alright, let's bring this one all down the line to the current:…read more I'm going to let the music do the talking. For every visit where I've checked in here over the past five years, I've probably forgot to on a 1:1 ratio. I'm somewhere in the ballpark of 40 check ins here, which should give you an idea as to how we feel about DAT. Not a whole lot we haven't seen here over that time. Masks, menu changes, trivia night, music trivia night, brunch, lunch, etc. There are three keys that run throughout. 1. Hands on owner. Nate is very present in some capacity almost every time we're here. Nothing he won't do from seating, bussing, food running to turning the Yankees on a nearby TV for a fellow fan :) 2. The randomness of the music being played. Anything from 60's to 90's rock, occasional R&B, maybe some disco or my favorite from last Wednesday at lunch, Yacht Rock. Nothing goes down smoother than hard cider with grilled cheese and goulash and a side of the Admiral himself, Michael McDonald. Fantastic vibe and hang here every time. 3. The consistency of the menu. The short rib goulash and any of the soup renderings are fantastic. Past that, house made tots, wings, burgers, crab cakes, beef on Weck, links, perogies. It's all so damn good, even though I think the secret weapon is the seafood. Anything done here with crab, shrimp or the seasonal scallop specials are guaranteed winners. I guess to keep 'em honest, if there's one small ding I could bring up it's the pricing. Admittedly, some of the menu offerings are on the higher end of the spectrum but then again, the quality is there and so is the consistency. You get what you pay for. It's a 40-45 minute each way hike to come here and as long as they keep doing what they've been doing here since the beginning, in the immortal words of the prophet Randy Newman: "We're gonna ride it till we just can't ride it no more."

Had a side of the whipped feta hot honey and peaches. I think a whipped ricotta would have brought it home. Anyway definitely worth the stop. Place is clean staff is friendly.

Anyone looking for a wonderful experience needs to GO to the Restaurant. It is quaint with a great Bar area where you can also eat causually or experience the wonderful dining area that overlooks a pretty garden view. Our server was JENNA who brought this bday girl a magnificent dessert with a candle and sang to me! Jenna made sure we were well taken care of! If you are reading this make sure you GO to the Plumsteadviile and experience all they offer a "Bucks County Treasure"

The restaurant was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! We were terribly impressed with the dining options. The dinners included Octopus; Steamed Clams; Schintzel- all of these were exquisite...even the garlic bread included with the clams was perfectly toasted. This inn was built in 1751, so obviously it's very quaint and charming. However, there are a few areas that need a wisp of improvement. We stayed in Room 207. There were few electrical outlets and they didn't always cooperate. It wasn't until almost last day of our visit that we figured out the light switch (next to the door) needs to be up for that outlet to work. This room sits above the bar and dining area so we could hear the noises and music below. Since it is close to the street, the morning traffic noise from cars and large trucks is clearly heard.

They packed it nicely, and there was plenty of food, but only the chicken taco and plantains were enjoyable. Steak taco was inedible. Every piece of meat was fat and chewy. I couldn't even swallow it. Carnitas taco was missing the guacamole that I ordered and paid extra for. Tacos had no cilantro, no salsa and zero flavor. salsa was not even included with the entire order so everything was dry.

Brings me back to places from my College days. Not a penny put into updating. I have always chalked it up to personality or charm of the place. Bar food and menu still pretty much the same as well. We were looking foward to the drive and revisiting for lunch today. I have to say we were a bit disappointed. Food was not as good as we remember, in fact it was less than average....not a "wow", not memorable and not worth driving the distance. It was simply below average. For example, Steak sandwich was full but roll was soggy from the steam. It fell apart and had to be eaten with a fork. Bread is key...especially for a "Philly" cheesesteak!! And, it wasn't a traditional "philly" steak as the menu claimed. Steak was not shaved beef it was thicker beef. French fries were nothing special. Needed salt or some improvement to step it up. Tasted like frozen fries that I make myself which are never as good as a restaurant no matter how hard I try. Fish and chips were okay but I have had much better. Nothing special there. Our server (Mckenzie) was delightful. She does her job very well. Overall, the food use to be better which compensated for the no frills, rustic atmosphere and it all worked. I guess it will be a few years more before a return visit.
