Ordered delivery for lunch. Tour of Mexico, which is an appetizer platter was missing one of the five apps. They packed it nicely, and there was plenty of food, but only the chicken taco and plantains were enjoyable. Steak taco was inedible. Every piece of meat was fat and chewy. I couldn't even swallow it. Carnitas taco was missing the guacamole that I ordered and paid extra for. Tacos had no cilantro, no salsa and zero flavor. salsa was not even included with the entire order so everything was dry. read more

Hmmm...it has been years since our last visit here. Hasn't changed at all...same rustic, dive kinda place with no frills decor, tables and chairs. Brings me back to places from my College days. Not a penny put into updating. I have always chalked it up to personality or charm of the place. Bar food and menu still pretty much the same as well. We were looking foward to the drive and revisiting for lunch today. I have to say we were a bit disappointed. Food was not as good as we remember, in fact it was less than average....not a "wow", not memorable and not worth driving the distance. It was simply below average. For example, Steak sandwich was full but roll was soggy from the steam. It fell apart and had to be eaten with a fork. Bread is key...especially for a "Philly" cheesesteak!! And, it wasn't a traditional "philly" steak as the menu claimed. Steak was not shaved beef it was thicker beef. French fries were nothing special. Needed salt or some improvement to step it up. Tasted like frozen fries that I make myself which are never as good as a restaurant no matter how hard I try. Fish and chips were okay but I have had much better. Nothing special there. Our server (Mckenzie) was delightful. She does her job very well. Overall, the food use to be better which compensated for the no frills, rustic atmosphere and it all worked. While the place is older and is not handicap friendly, it does have character! The food was the stand out! I had beer battered fish and chips with a side of onion rings and my husband has BBQ ribs. The fish was flaky and had a nice crunch and the onion rings were the best I ever had. Crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth inside! Even the fries were good. The BBQ ribs were delicious too and my husband said they were like roadhouse's ribs, that's a high compliment! It is bar food and it's in a bar, so keep that in mind but our server was very sweet and we were there late on a Sunday night so that didn't have to be. All the negative comments were during Covid so those comments lowered their score. If I had any negative, the bathroom was downstairs. That wouldn't be a problem normally but I have difficulty walking around so that's why. read more

The food was super tasty- my husband got the house burger and it was really flavorful, he said it's the best burger he's had in a while. Haven't experienced service like this in quite a while like we did from our server Scott and the kitchen. The food and the service was outstanding. We ordered the fried pickles & onion rings and the best part was that they gave the perfect amount of dipping sauce. Per Scott's reccomendation we ordered the 1/2 rack rib & crab cake combo and the Chicken & Waffles. The ribs were fall off the bone and the waffle warm and mapley!! I really enjoyed my meal. My family ordered food to go. I had the Black and Blu burger. It was moist and delicious. My son had the Pepper Jack cheese and jalapeño burger. He said it was great. My daughter in law and granddaughter shared the Fish and Chips. Also delicious. The curly fries that came with the meal were best fries to go I have had. We also had 2 orders of the the coconut shrimp. They were crunchy and the Thai sauce that came with it was spot on. We also had the chicken Thai wings. My son most have loved them. He was non stop until they were gone. The whole meal was perfect. Even the way they backed the meal was perfect. The prices are very responsible!! I would highly recommend them!! read more

Driving around the Pocono's today visiting some wineries and on our way home we just pulled into the Cactus Grill because of its outside decorations. As we parked I was not sure about the place, however while walking up it was clean outside and decorated for Halloween nicely. As we walked in we were greeted by and very nice host and being it was the eve of Halloween the staff were in their costumes. The place was kind of dark inside but had a rustic decor. The majority of customers were definitely locals because they too were all dressed. I believe I sat next to Alice Cooper or the Mad Hatter we orders a salad and full rack of ribs. The salad was just basic not to much to brag about. The full rack of ribs were nicely done falling off the bone with a good BBQ taste. During the evening a DJ came on and people were on the dance floor. At about 8pm the crowd started to come and the party began. We passed this place several times and never came in. Today was the day. Over all is quaint and cozy, typical neighborhood watering hole with a friendly staff and a nice view. The food I'm a little up and down on. The appetizer was huge and not bad. I ordered the ravioli and the first words out of my mouth were, " I think they forgot the rest in the kitchen". It's not like they were huge ravioli, but in all honesty if they charged more than the 9.99 I probably would have been pretty upset. My son got the fish and chips which were a decent size . I have no idea where to even start.. after visiting Peddlers village we found this in our way back, so we decided to stop without looking at reviews which was a HUGE mistake in our part. The hostess ( maybe owner? ) was not wearing a mask, half of the other staff had their masks under their noses and "Back the blue tshirts ". Food was mediocre and bland, but the biggest issue was the constant staring from workers and hostess? Have they never seen any Hispanic people in their life?! If you are not white and a trump supporter.. avoid this location like the plague. Loved this restaurant! It has a rustic feel and the weather was perfect for having lunch on the wrap-around deck. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and the food was great. The only issue which I have is that the bathrooms are downstairs, and the staircase is a bit steep. Obviously somebody there loves Halloween as the entire venue is decorated. It is very close to a huge park called Nockamixon, which has every activity you could imagine, including several LL Bean outdoor classes. I would definitely revisit this fun place! read more

This homey restaurant and bar is tucked away around a curve along 611. If you're not looking for it, you probably will miss it, especially if you're driving north. When I was here a few years ago, the chef and owner was Mary Elcavage - not sure if that's still the case? Quoting from their menu: "Specializing in the best BBQ, hand cut steaks, double thick chops and fresh seafood. On and off premise catering." I'd like to add that they have excellent ribs and delicious wings. Their ribs are so good, it should be illegal. The decor is what you's expect by the name Cactus Grill and that suited us just fine. Next time you're in the area, check them out. I talk my kids and they love the options too. Besides the food being really good (especially the ribs), I have to commend the owner, Mary, on a job well done. My husband and I brought my dad and his girlfriend to the Cactus Grill one Friday night when they were visiting from California. The wait was close to two hours and we were all really hungry, so we left. We went back the next Friday to try again. We decided to do this at the very last minute, so I didn't call ahead (the lesson I learned the week prior), and when we got there, Mary said we were looking at a wait of an hour and a half. My company wanted to wait, though, so we set up shop in the bar, where the bartender treated us very nicely. My dad gave Mary the sob story that we tried to eat at her fine establish the week before and had to leave, and that he's visiting from California and that his daughter is such an angel and that he begged her (me) to bring him back. And instead of smacking him upside the head (which he totally would have deserved), she made arrangements to have a post-storm outside table wiped down-- about 30 minutes after we put our name in. Our server was friendly and accommodating, the band was pretty good, and all of us cleaned our plates and licked our fingers for those last remnants of good bbq. To be fair and balanced, shortcomings include that we had to ask for water initially; the quesadilla appetizer was not very quesadilla-y; and we were given a hard time about not calling ahead. read more

Solid 3 stars. Maybe verging on 2.5. I never liked coming here as a kid. One big plus is that they have nice outdoor seating. The food is pretty good. But the service is absolutely, terribly slow. While I've only been here maybe 3x in the past 5 years, I've never been impressed by the service. I had run a 10k the morning of coming here... and by dinner I was starving! I had asked for a salad before my meal, which never seemed to come. I hate when I get my salad 30 seconds before my main meal, so I went over to my waitress who was talking with the other servers in the bar area, and asked her if I could have my salad. I also said "I'm a runner, and I love bread, can we have that too?" -- because all of the other tables seemed to have bread except us. She was all nice about it and said sure. So I went back to my table, but as I was walked back I happened to turn around and saw her rolling her eyes to the other servers about it. So uh, that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I have been a server in the past and I wasn't an ass about how I asked. I get that you're "busy" (this place was not busy) but you could at least say "sorry about the wait I'll have that right out to you" or something. I don't think I had an unreasonable request. But whatever I guess. Which is why this place is 3 stars. Food is ok. Service is crap. If I happen to go back and experience differently I'll let ya know. read more

Quaint, cozy, beautiful views at this very pleasant "surprise" restaurant tucked into the elbow of a sweeping turn on old rt 611. The menu is not long, nor is it inexpensive, however, the delightful meal was worth it. I ordered the strip steak with Tiki shrimp. The steak was on the small side but cooked to pefection. Two flash fried shrimp coated in a potato crust were outstanding. Lots of excellent veggies too. My dining partner had the shrimp and scallop bake with spinach and artichoke. She pronounced it as perfect. We checked with our server, and despite the intro here on Yelp, they do take credit cards and do takeout. Service was good, and they had some unusual beers on tap too!
