I go to this Dairy Queen for the odd experience. Here are some helpful tips for this location: * Pack snacks in case you get hungry while waiting. * Try the eyelash cheeseburger, or maybe the cold fry. * Always have your second and third choice ready. They might not have what you thought you needed. * Don't order after 7:30 because you'll get kicked out at 8. * Don't get offended by the non-employed teens that walk behind the counter after you get kicked out. They are friends of the teens working the counter and are having fun. * Pack warm clothes. If you order after 7:59 you'll be doing it at the walk up window. * Once at the walk up window, choose the best lookin' one in your crew and work the eye contact to get that order in before it's too late. * Don't hit the drive through after 8:30 or you might not make it through to order by closing. Our family of 10 walked in to eat at 8:45pm. The hours on their door said they close at 10:00pm. Booths were open, chairs were up on the tables. We started to sit down at the long table that didn't have chairs on it, and the girl came around and rudely said, "you guys can't sit here". My husband and my nephew asked why and she again, rudely said, "because we are short staffed and you can't sit there". So we asked who the manager was and she said, "we don't know". As we're walking out the employees started rolling their eyes and whispering to each other while smirking. We will not eat here. They are extremely rude. read more

I don't understand these 1 and 2 star reviews. The staff works at a breakneck pace and still remains friendly and professional. We mostly get blizzards but also get the dairy free Dilly bar (thank you Dairy Queen). Their fish sandwich is also excellent. read more

I keep going back and forth on DQ for their food. Used to not like it, then went to a few locations that changed my mind. This one kind of changed my mind back to "ehhhh". Somehow my burger was still dry while being completely dripping with mustard and overall I just did not enjoy it, but I was hungry so it was edible enough to get down. And I'm a fast food lover so I am usually not too picky... Their drive thru is a mess and cars were in the street. Doesn't seem like the best location. Also just FYI they do not have a bathroom inside, but they do have one outside. A-OK because it's still just fast food, but it wouldn't be my first choice to stop on this drive again. read more

I ordered a special cake for my daughters birthday. I ordered it December 13 which was three days in advance to be picked up December 16 at 1 o'clock. I picked a specific cake with a specific design and ordered online. I received a confirmation number in December 13 and when I went to get the cake it was not there and they did not have any order. The employee called their manager and we were going to pick out a different cake but they did not have one available except for different flavors and did not offer a discount or anything whatsoever so we have my daughter's birthday party and no cake! If you were going to order a cake, I'd advise you to go in person and order it. My mom and I went to Dairy Queen and she got a ice cream cone. Ate the cone and later that night didn't feel well. She thought maybe it was the ice cream cone. I was going to get a blizzard but decided not to because. I had a coupon for a blizzard for a Dollar coupon. One of there old ones. They wanted to charge me 2$ for the new coupon, but it was a old one I had. I didn't want the blizzard because they didn't honor the old coupon that was not expired nor did it have a expiration date. Skip it. Which I hate to say...poor Philomath really doesn't have anything in the food department. But this place is a monument to disappointment. Been giving it 2nd chances for almost 16 years now , and I think I'm throwing in the towel after three strikes. What are the three strikes you ask? That would be the absence of chocolate ice cream. One of the simplest and most delightful treats in the Dairy Queen world is a chocolate Vanilla swirl cone. The food is just okay, place is better for desert options but even with that go with time to wait. I've gone several times when I am the only customer and still had to wait 10 mins just for a few blizzards. I'm writing this review because of my latest interaction with the staff, me and my family placed a fairly simple order, waited way longer then should of. But the main problem was we told the girl taking the order we wanted it to go, only to have her bring it out on a tray for eating in. When I took the tray back and told another girl we asked for it to go the first girl who took our order walked over to the one who was placing food in a bag to go and asked what happened. Her answer to the co-worker placing food in a to go box was " well I asked them ugh". I'm sorry good or bad day theres no need for attitude especially in front of any customer, regardless if I was right or wrong. Very slow every time I've visited, no matter what time of day or year. I have found myself sitting in the drive-thru for very long periods of time, I've come to expect to have to wait for at least half an hour if I order food. However, the staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

Just don't. We love DQ--normally. We ordered our "usual"--first burgers & fries, then if my son finishes his food, I get him an ice cream to go. I can't describe the burgers other than burned, dried up hockey pucks with cheese that broke apart. These beasties were nuked so hot that he couldn't even pick his up. Wait time was very high for no obvious reason. Two of the three employees did not seem to know what they were doing. I had to ask for my drink cup multiple times. Corrected the girl taking my order twice and still got the incorrect items. I didn't think I had to check at the location because she said it was all correct. I know, I know, most of you are thinking that all Dairy Queens are the same, and normally I'd agree with you, but this one seems to do everything right. It's been a staple of this community forever, and this funky old building houses some of the best ice cream in Benton County. Never had a bad experience here, and the good food and friendly service help me overlook the old building with bathroom access off the parking lot not the dining room... :) read more

The worst Dairy Queen experience I have ever had! I lost count of all the food safety violations I observed, which included a black banana sitting on the sundae bar, cold and burnt fries, and the kitchen area was strewn with garbage! Terrible customer service! And since when have they charged for fry sauce that obviously wasn't the correct recipe. It tasted as bad as it looked! I'm upset that I have to give a star to write a review about this location because they don't even deserve that! read more
