What can I say? This is a nation wide food chain, in a food court, in Hawaii. I can't believe other low rate reviews based on the price! I've been living in Hawaii for over 3 years now and seen other DQ on the island closing. Yes, the price feels outrageous, but please stop by at the local grocery store. A gallon of milk is $8 in Hawaii. Now a dozen of eggs are $10+! Almost all the items used at DQ have to come from the mainland, and the refrigeration... electricity is expensive on the island too. All that said, I'd imagine it is impossible to keep the as price as low as other locations. Peoples here work hard and our milkshakes are cold, thick and tasty. After seeing a movie at the theater I walked through the food court and spied a classic fast food stand in Dairy Queen. After shockingly see the prices I nonetheless got a dipped cone. While still classic with the crispy chocolate shell and creamy vanilla soft ice cream, it's really hard to justify $5.99 for a cone. This is nothing to do with the employees, it is what it is. They need to talk to corporate and get their help. They have competition right out their door which make it not easy. I would have loved an OJ too but not at over $6 for a small size. Regardless, this is a classic treat that everyone should have to buy a dipped cone and OJ and support the local owners. read more

Typical food court atmosphere, minus the crowds and lines. Was very empty when we visited, on a Friday evening. Most menu items were available, we ordered a Reese's blizzard, and were disappointed with how few toppings were in it. The soft serve was fine, but more melted than usual. Okay, but would probably opt for other ice cream options on the plaza next time, as it isn't to the standard of your regular continental Dairy Queen. Plenty of parking around the plaza. read more

While I was using the facilities at this beautiful mall, I came across a DQ / Orange Julius inside a small food court at the Queens' MarketPlace. It was a hot day, so I thought.........."why not?" And I proceeded to order a Medium Chocolate dipped cone - ($4.68). What can I say about my dipped cone? Well, for one thing............I never remembered Dairy Queen to be having a small, medium, or large cone. I just remembered a cone is a cone, and it was just one size............ Also, I swear the chocolate coating on the dipped cone was much thicker in the past..........as when I got my cone, the chocolate coating was not too thick, and I would say it was no better than getting a McDonald's chocolate dipped cone. Only difference is when I go to McDonald's, it's way cheaper. Although I have fond memories in the past about Dairy Queen (as my pops use to take us there all the time).........it's not the same anymore for me, so that's probably why I hardly patronize any Dairy Queen anymore. read more

On top of being out of chocolate ice cream, strawberry topping and horrible service the mini blizzard is $8.99. After dinner in the Queen's Shopping Center, we had a craving for ice cream. There are only two places for ice cream - Slab and Diary Queen. We opted for the quick and easy Dairy Queen. Prices are very reasonable - $3.29 for a small vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate, served in a plain cone. It was made fresh in front of you and completed in 30 seconds. Bada-boom. Done. Went to get a smoothie and was waiting on line at 6:45. Don't have enough staff; only one person working. The smoothies closed at 7 and when I went to order, it was past 7 because I waited so long. If I could give zero stars I would!! We had dinner next door at the sushi place tonight and were craving to satisfy a sweet-tooth. My girlfriend stood at the cashier (the ENTIRE food court was EMPTY) for 15 minutes before the lady behind the counter served her. She got a chocolate chip Blizzard (which was not so bad). After about halfway through, I decided that I wanted my own Heath Bar Blizzard. I stood at the same cashier and the lady was finishing up washing one of the food processors. I stood there, made eye contact, and she just stood at the sink. Another lady (presumably a co-worker or close friend) called out to the employee and walked right past the cashiers to the back room. The employee then, without making eye contact a second time, walked to the back and all I could hear was laughing and giggling. Suffice it to say, I took my business next door, and got myself a Hawaiian coconut-flavored Shaved Ice instead. It was cheaper and many times more satisfying. Dairy Queen is inside the food court at the mall. The food court isn't clean. I called asking to see if they had any ice cream cakes. The woman was very nice, and she offered to give us a cake and write a message on it. They were understaffed, and the two people in front of me both asked for smoothies, but apparently they ran out of ingredients so neither of them got smoothies. The cake tasted great (it had chocolate and vanilla flavors in it). The decorations on the outside were very nice. This is a good place to go if you want a quick ice cream or refreshment. Just be prepared that it's not clean, it may take a while, and they may not have all of the ingredients that you want. read more

Extremely bad customer service!! My boyfriend & I went and got served by two girls. We ordered the "Triple Chocolate Brownie" which is supposed to be a warmed up brownie and ice cream. When we got it, the brownie was straight out of the freezer and completely COLD and hard to eat. We politely went back in and asked if we could get another one since it was made incorrectly. They started talking to each other and the girl that made it asked me rudely "can I see the brownie?" I explained that it was cold again and both of them just turned away talking. The girl made another one, and gave it to us in a styrofoam to-go container and TOSSED it on the counter and said "here". Opened it to show us that it was just a SINGULAR brownie, with no ice cream or toppings, in a container, and we said thank you because we didn't want any more hassle. I went in on a hot summer day and the ice cream really hit the spot. I ordered an Oreo Brownie Earthquake (my all-time favorite). The girl at the register was very friendly and the Brownie Earthquake was made quickly. The brownies were delicious while the hot fudge and marshmallow were plentiful.
