Everything we got: 1) Maui Vera - I bought this reef friendly sunscreen. I was told regular sunscreen will not help, so I waited until we came out here to buy sunscreen. This sunscreen helped protect me from crazy sunburns. It is very thick and dries up quickly. It does leave you looking whiter than usual lol. 2) Smoothies - My ILs ordered the Hawaiian Superman, Strawberry Bliss, Chocolate Monkey, and Super Soursop. All these smoothies were recommended by the owner based on their preferences. They absolutely enjoyed their drinks. Perfect refresher after 2 hours of ziplining. 3) Tropical Dreams Ice Cream - My BIL got an 8 oz ube ice cream. We all took a spoonful to try it. Wow .. the ube flavor was unbelievable. Sooo good!

Located in the heart of old town Hilo on Kilauea Avenue is where you'll find Locavore or as locals will know it's next to Ben Franklin. The staff of Sam and Audrey were genuinely kind and welcoming. I was most impressed with their knowledge of products and pride in what they had to offer. My sister (who I was visiting) purchased fresh non-GMO produce and pickled namasu. Since I was visiting Hilo I chose unique stickers and postcards to take home with me. I really felt a warm peaceful vibe while browsing around The Locavore Store. I had a huge dinner the night before and was determined to keep it small and cheap. I used the small box. What I put in: Spinach and Romaine Sprinkle of corn Touch of celery Sprinkle of black beans Small pieces of broccoli Small olives and 1 reg size About 4 small cubes of baked chicken breast About 3-4 cubes of sweet potato A few pieces of sliced mushroom No salad dressing (I had my own) I was amazed at the price since I usually end up at $20-30. It priced out at half a pound and $6.50. I came away with a sense that I'm getting more value at Whole Foods, since I spend at lot here. I'm not usually this frugal, but kind of experimented to see if I can be satisfied with a small salad with a lot of my favorite ingredients. I told him I purchased oysters and had them shuck it as recently as two days ago and also a few times in the recent past. He still declined to shuck. I walked up to another Whole Foods employee and asked to speak with a Supervisor and she referred me to Emma. I spoke with Emma and shared my recent expereince and she too was unwilling to help in any way. I was shocked at the very poor customer service. I have never experienced such poor service from any Supermarket or any business.
