The big scoop of coconut peanut butter was fabulous and the honey and chocolate on top were the crowning achievement. It was an A+ in my book, and that is saying a lot.

I sampled Kona coffee from several different places while on the island, and the coffee here was hands down my absolute favorite. Their prices are very reasonable compared to the heavy tourist areas, and the quality is amazing. They roast everything on site and grind it fresh right in front of you, the whole place smells sooo good the moment you walk in. On top of the incredible drinks, the service was fast, efficient, and super friendly. You can also buy bags of their 100% Kona coffee right in the shop to take home with you, I actually bought several bags to bring back and give as gifts to family and friends. It also happened to be where we hung out and ate pizza and had drinks during the latest tsunami warning! Luckily, we were safe there and there wasn't any damage. Piko offers a different menu based on time of day, plenty of grab and go options all day long and there is also a filtered water station available. Service is fast casual and friendly. We've only been at this hotel for 48 hours and I've been here on three occasions so far and have a feeling I'll be here plenty more during our stay.

She assured me these were made to order and, most importantly, not biscuits pretending to be malasadas. So far, we are winning! The location was easy to find, and on a Wednesday morning the line was minimal -- small kine wait. I ordered a dozen to share with our friends from Kentucky who had NEVER had a malasada before, so I was excited to introduce them to this deliciousness. First impression: these malasadas are HUGE. Like baseball-sized huge. And true to what I was told, they were made to order and came out piping hot! We ordered cinnamon and powdered sugar, which was new for me since I'm used to malasadas coated in granulated sugar. They were so hot that the powdered sugar immediately started melting into them. First bite? Not bad. Definitely NOT the biscuit like texture I experienced at another BI spot, so that was already a win. But they still didn't quite have that soft, pillowy texture I was hoping for. That being said, these were easily better than the other two malasada places we tried on the BI in the past. Our Kentucky friends, however, had absolutely no complaints. I'm pretty sure there were some squeals and happy dancing happening, so their first malasada experience was clearly a success. If you've never had a malasada before, this is definitely a good place to start. They're huge, made to order, served piping hot, and most importantly, not biscuit dense.
