It's a great a low calorie/high protein delicious and satisfying snack. I haven't strayed from beef jerky much. Turkey jerky is also very good. Once I bought some mushroom jerky and it was so horrid I tossed the bag in the trash after a bite or two. I haven't had the courage to try plant-based jerky, but when I saw an ad for fish jerky, well that kind of piqued my interest. So that explains why I bought a Salmon Jerky Variety Sampler Pack from Kamiani for the rock-bottom price of $11.39 shipped. It included three one-half ounce samples of Salmon Jerky in Original, Teriyaki, and Spicy varieties. I started off by sampling the Original flavor. It was very chewy with a mild seafood smell and a mild salmon flavor. The Teriyaki had a stronger flavor, and the ingredients included Brown Sugar, soy sauce, sesame seeds, rice, sesame oil, and red chili among other spices. It was softer than the original and seemed a bit moister and stickier. I thought this version was terrific. The Spicy version wasn't very spicy and seemed to have the same ingredients as the Teriyaki version. It wasn't as moist as the Teriyaki and was a bit harder and chewier. While all three were good, the clear winner, at least by my palate, was the Teriyaki Tuna Jerky.

THE GOODS: Original The flavor was a mix of salty & sweet, a tad fishy and fairly tender and easy to chew. Spicy Sriracha My nostrils got a good whiff of Tabasco scent as I opened the bag. A bit more tender than the Original, the spice level was a 2 on a 10-scale, with slightly sweet and peppery notes. Teriyaki This was by far the sweetest, most flavorful and tender of the trio. OVERALL: Tasty alternative to traditional red meat.

You get to taste fresh cacao, nibs, cacao tea and kakao brew - of course at the shop are the full chocolate bars. Mike clearly loves what he does and enjoys sharing that love with his customers. Our fruitista explained each fruit sample and I honestly dont remember the names. The fruit is locally grown. The fruit was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend is from Minnesota and he really enjoyed the fruit tasting. It was a unique experience for him. He said it was worth the price to try something new. They also offer fresh coconut water for $10, but we didn't get one. The stand had a gorgeous view of green lush hills in contrast to the blue ocean. Lots of tables to sit. They had WiFi and a port a potty available. There was a compost bin and a water station to wash up. I paid with Venmo, but there were other forms of payment. Very convenient. Our fruitista was hard at work as the one person running the stand. He was very friendly and took great care selecting the fruit for our platter. The Bee Safari at the Rare Hawaiian Honey Company was a fantastic experience! She gave us a fascinating insight into bee lifecycle, their behavior and how beekeepers care for the hives and extract the honey. We then suited up in beekeepers suits and went to the hives where we had the opportunity to safely hold frames of bees and examine them close up. Miranda gave everyone the confidence to participate and even the more nervous participants joined in by the end. Afterwards we got to tour the honey production facility and the tour concluded with a tasting of some of their delicious honey with food pairing before browsing their shop. I highly recommend this experience.

When we were on Maui, there were tons of roadside fruit stands and this is definitely the cheaper way to buy fruit. We didn't see any of these on the big island though.

The produce we sampled was all absolutely delicious, especially the blimbi (which tasted like a crunchy lime and is related to star fruit).
