The amount of times the last couple months that they have messed up our orders and just given us the complete wrong order is absurd. It's sad they can't seem to get an order of 2 blizzards correct. For such an easy and simple job they sure do mess it up quite a bit and when you try to tell the people working they just sigh and throw a fit they have to remake your order. it was Miracle Treat Day so we went to get Blizzards and ate in. All the tables were dirty with dirty napkins all over the floor, plenty of idle workers who could be cleaning. My Blizzard was not tipped upside down when handed to me and I told the girl and she said she couldn't turn it over because it was too runny!!! I told her I wanted another one and she said it was due to the mixer. A male worker agreed to make me another one which was fine. Considering it was a special day I would expect a clean restaurant and better service. This is the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been in but the only location in Sun Prairie. The weird thing about this location-- I always order the same thing: Medium Vanilla Malt. Malt. With malt powder (the more the better, honestly...). I will get a malt about 50% of the time. The other 50%, I overpay for a vanilla shake because I don't give enough of a flying fig to go back and complain. That gets really annoying. read more

horrible. don't ever go there. first of all the line took 30 minutes and while we were waiting one of workers waddled up to my window (because we were laughing at all the people trying to go inside because it was drive thru only which is so stupid). then when we got up to order the workers were peeking under the window and when i ordered they just kept saying "what was that" and being very difficult and laughing at us and refused to take our order so we ended up having to leave. again don't ever go there. worst workers i've ever seen. so childish. also they were very understaffed because the line went all the way out in the road. read more

I've always gotten a correct order, and my ordered items have always been good. I'm only giving 4 stars because it is NOT a DQ Brazier - no burgers here. Especially like it that they will make items that are no longer on the menu, like PB Frozen Hot Chocolate. Prices are not cheap, however. read more

Even before Covid, this place is our least favorite. The employees here are SO RUDE. I asked about the total once and got a snotty response. This last time we went will be our last. We will drive all the way to Janesville if we need a blizzard that bad, it's way cheaper and less of a headache. We got two mediums blizzards, got down the street and both were digging down into them and not coming up with any toppings. I turned around and went back through the line and asked for new ones. I couldn't believe it. For $5 a pop it better be riddled with toppings. It's probably a Dane County thing, but we spend almost $3 less for the same order in Janesville. read more

Staff are super friendly, full menu is always available, and ice cream is delicious. However, I've noticed the sizing is very inconsistent. I typically order a cone and have received both undersized and oversized amounts of ice cream for what I paid for. Wish it was more consistent. read more

This place has always been my fav place for ice cream But ever since they started serving food I don't even want to give my time with them at all. their employees are EXTREMELY rude, I got cold food and sometimes I don't get everything. I asked if I could get fresh pretzels due to them being cold and they told me no that's not their problem. They forgot my Queso as well, they gave me the queso and slammed the drive through window in my face. EXTREMELY disappointed and will not return even for ice cream! They need to get better employees or older employees. High schoolers should not be running a place like this. read more

For a Dairy Queen and rating it what it is, fast food, they are quick, always get my order right and never had an issue here. After 20+ visits thats good for a fast food place. Compared to another fast food chain....who will naMe anonymous, I've been to all 3 of those chains in Sun Prairie several times and they're at about a 10% success rate! parking and getting out of the drive thru is probably the biggest problem here. read more

The tables and floor are a sticky mess and this location is getting dated and needs to us that month they're closed too bring in a giant steam hose to bring it back to beautiful. This DQ location has an update: they are now paired with Orange Julius and so had to get rid of the fryers. I'm fine with that; I'm just there for the sugary treats anyhow. I try not to visit this place too often, as it is completely unredeemable nutritionally. But so yummy! Anyway, I was intrigued by the Blizzard flavor of the month (or, as the sign says, the BLIZZ FLAV): Lemon Meringue. So I buckled the kids in the minivan and headed out. It's summer vacation, so I don't feel bad about having them out after 9pm. It seems like most of Sun Prairie felt the same way, because when we got there we were the sixth car or so in line for the drive-through. Instead of waiting forever in line with the engine running I parked in the miniscule lot and walked in. I was then second in line behind some squirrely teenage girls. There were three young people working, and they were seriously running their arses off. The young woman who helped the teen in front of me and then me was nothing but professional and courteous. My Blizzards were perfection (Lemon Meringue and Mint Oreo). I docked a star just because the place is so squished. read more

As a recovering Blizzard addict, I must admit visiting every Dairy Queen in the Madison area, and many others throughout the US. After my extensive problem, which I freely admit, I hereby attest that the Sun Prairie Dairy Queen is tied (with the Fitchburg Dairy Queen on Fish Hatchery, near the Beltline) as the No. 1 Dairy Queen in Southern Wisconsin, and perhaps the world. The staff is so nice I'm almost embarrassed. They make me think that people in Sun Prairie are the nicest people anywhere, but perhaps it's just at DQ. They're fast. And, I guess most importantly, the Blizzards are truly great. If I have one complaint (and I guess I do), what's with the weird drive through, with the blind corner, that immediately shoots you out into the street? It's impossible to park there and eat, and once you pull out, there's nowhere obvious to eat anywhere close. This problem should be fixed. But everything else? Really great. read more

Just purchased two large blizzards. One with butterfinger and cookie dough had no cookie dough and they were blended so fine that there were no chunks or bits in it. The other was mint with Oreo and again, no sign of Oreo. Less blending would be better. These may as well have been ice cream cones. Michaels is better. read more
