I have been going there for 50 years when in area. Last time few weeks ago I had a medium sundae that was very petite. Stopped in today and ordered a large hot fudge. Cost 5.50. Guy in front got his sundae and no whipped cream he complained that sundae looked bare. I get my sundae and no whip cream either, I asked and guy spray a single line whipped cream as shown in picture., I used to get a cherry too... I guess whip cream and cherries are cost reductions. A FRIGID RECEPTION AT THE DQ IN NATICK! Today, March 20, was a "free ice cream" day. We (myself and my two small children) went to the franchise located at 323 N. Main St., Natick, MA 3 times. The line was too long . After the 2d trip we were told at the window to return before they closed at 9 pm. We returned at 8:47 pm. The manager - male Caucasian about 30s-40s - told us they were closed. When we explained it was not 9 pm and we were told to return before they closed he said that he closed the line for a while, "Come on guys, I already closed the line. We're closed!" This Dairy Queen doesn't have any Hamburgers, Chicken, etc even though it's showing on their website menu only Hot Dogs when go up to order for food. Update: Since DQ has been open, I've taken a few trips here and am always satisfied with what I get! Staff is usually pretty nice, and the presentation is good too! I have only heard things about this place, but tried it out a couple of days ago because of the hype. I went in thinking "how good can soft serve be?" Quickly came to realize that I was wrong. Unlike any other soft serve I've had, it actually wasn't sweet and tasted fluffy. The texture was smooth and it wasn't overwhelming to eat. The portions here are really big - I came after eating dinner and had trouble finishing a small - definitely want to get a kiddie next time. Will be back soon! read more

Husby goes here ALL the time. Me? A couple times.. the last time, it was off. I had a craving for the small chocolate dipped cone, which is the only thing I ever get there. It reminds me of when I was little. For some reason, the chocolate tasted like old Magic Shell. Don't get me wrong, I dig Magic Shell, but that's not what its supposed to taste like at DQ and certainly shouldn't be tasting old. Have gone twice in the last few weeks and was disappointed with several things. First time I went the monthly blizzard flavors were already flipped to the next months even though there was several days left. Went specifically for a flavor on the DQ website but they didn't have it. So I ordered a sundae and asked for whipped cream. Got the sundae and no joke, there was a literal 1/2" strip of half melted whipped cream. Ok fine whatever. A few days later I stopped for a small dipped cone and it was minuscule. I believe it should be two "bubbles", but was only one tiny one with a curl. I literally almost laughed when they handed it to me, and the price is outrageous for what you get. Noticed this time that the cookie dough is not the best quality (Friendly's still #1 in my heart), but it's still pretty good. -- The line was similarly long but it took a bit longer to get my beloved blizzard, and they weren't *quite* as generous with the portion size this time. I checked their menu online, but was disappointed when I got to the DQ counter and found out they "only have hot dogs". On a hot summer day what is better than ice cream. Ok well maybe there are things but I love DQ's. I usually get a blizzard "Extreme Choc" but it is rather filling so I went with the choc/van twist. The med was bigger than I should have ordered. There are picnic tables and a drive through. I thought the drive through is a great option but I also got a quick mental picture of it melting down all over my lap. At least when you eat it outside the sprinkles, toppings, and gooey yummy stuff can just fall to the ground rather than make a mess in the car but still a good option for those drive by have to have "frozen dairy product" (code word so the kids won't get hyped up). read more

SUPER, AMAZING, TINY Dairy Queen on Route 27 in Natick. Including a drive thru!!!!! Drive thru moves quick, ice cream is great, outdoor seating is great, they actually include a good amount of parking (other Dairy Queens that have not been renovated, sometimes REALLY don't have enough parking for the volume of traffic they serve. Yes, of course it would be great if this DQ was able to serve food, but for now hot dogs will have to do. Plus, I like the old charm it brings to the residential areas of Natick. Not open all year round, but for the spring and summer time, it's a DQ I go to frequently and never regret it! Friendly employees as well. I do swear by Dairy Queen, and I'm always happy to see this one re-open for the spring/summer. As Dairy Queens go...it's pretty good. They tend to close too early in the fall, and too early at night as well (drive up stops at 8, the whole place closes at 9. Which just seems restrictive). They do have a good drive-up (which they've improved this year, with a speaker to order before you get to the window), and they now offer Orange Julius, which is kind of a fun change of pace. Overall, this is a pretty decent dairy queen. But I will mention one curious negative about them. For a few years now, they've given you a lot of ice cream. I mean, a medium comes out as a large and a sundae is usually a good inch of ice cream taller than the picture makes it out to be. But for some reason they skimp on other things. Like my peanut buster parfait has probably 20% more ice cream than it's supposed to...but only a small pool of hot fudge at the bottom and another small pour at the top. And my Mint Oreo Blizzard was a good size, but didn't have nearly enough mint syrup to make the entire thing green. I'd rather have a normal amount of ice cream and good coverage of sauces, etc. But I'll chalk that up to being early in the season issues, and give them an appreciative three stars. read more

As I have gotten older, DQ became the central pit stop for after games or practices , and bonding time with friends. I am waiting for this Dairy Queen location to re-open since I find myself in that neck of the woods often. They are only open spring and summer and it is usually crowded with people standing in line and bumper to bumper cars in the drive-through. My stand by is a small chocolate and vanilla twist cone with jimmies. It's $2 or so and I think I actually like it better than all that Blizzard junk they mix together. There are always young high school kids working and one time at the drive through the girl was making my cone and tried asking a question while the window was shut. She was confused as to why we weren't answering her question about sprinkles or jimmies. I still can't wait to get a DQ fix and I might try the food this time. Went to go to through the drive through (an hour and a half before closing, mind you) and was met with a man who I assume is the manager walking with a roadblock, was glaring at me and shaking his head before placing it right in front of my car. Q: What's a trip to the Natick/Framingham area without stopping by DQ? A: Not a completely satisfying one. The family knows the routine by now. A nice leisurely shopping trip to the Natick Mall, then Barnes and Noble, then a stop at DQ on the way home (and sometimes on the way there). They service is usually harried, but I've not encountered rudeness. They certainly never seem to be lacking any customers, as the location is prime. NO COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOLLOWED WHATSOEVER. No distancing in line/no markings (not to mention half the teenagers in line not even wearing masks (Natick PD drove by twice and did nothing), no protection between staff and customers (not even 3 feet or plexiglass). Here's the scene: 12 people, probably 6 simultaneous orders processing on two side-by-side takeout windows all bunched up in a roughly 10 square foot space. Totally unacceptable, irresponsible and frankly this place should be told to shut down until they get in compliance. I don't blame the kids running the counter...they should know better but they are kids. The owner/management of this place should be taken to task. I was not the only customer complaining. If Charlie Baker was in line he'd shut the state down for 3 months. People wonder why we're slow to open up the state.
