This Albion Mercantile, a little grocery store on the Main Street through town, is the heart of…read morelife in the small town of Albion Idaho. They have essential groceries plus, some tasty ice cream, candy and other snacks. And interestingly, what drew me in was a sign advertising their fresh locally grown garden lettuce which is sold in bags in the store. They also advertise honey, which, unfortunately for us, had sold out for the season. I bet more will be on the shelves soon. We tried their huckleberry cookie ice cream which was creamy and refreshing. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and just after we got there, several locals came in for an afternoon treat. I'd highly recommend stopping in for a quick visit to get an ice cream cone and to grab a bag of lettuce. Random combination, I know, but I always to try and support a good operation in a remote location.

They had many unique flavors, offered samples, and service was friendly and quick! There's plenty of outdoor seating. They also have delicious waffle cones (that don't leak!!!) that are made in house. Only complaint is the bathroom was not clean and the sink was leaking all over the floor? Although this didn't greatly impact our experience, it was definitely noted and would be a draw back for those with young children or elderly who require assistance (or touch lots of things).
